Hey! Is there any chance you can provide a walk through for the 2006 Toyota Matrix. I bought the kit but for the life of me I cannot figure it out. EDIT: The wiring part is done and everything works, I just cant mount it.
Ok. Thank you.
Nice video, plus the one for the backup camera. Any tips on integrating the stock audio controls in the steering wheel?
Yes, those parts are all linked in the description of the video.
I have a 2009 Pontiac Vibe Gt... would I have any issues regarding the factory amplifier connection. GT has the subwoofer in back. Thanks
Great video! I bought the wiring for a 2010 Vibe. You wired a back camera up in a 2009, so I thought the wiring I bought would match the colors you used. Did you put the radio in a different model year? Also, there are multiple green wires on the adaptor harness I have. Does it matter which green wire I match it to on the radio wiring, or is color for color adequate? Thanks!
I now see one is a green/black wire, not solid green. The 70-2105 harness is not equipped with orange/black or orange wires. How do I connect a dimmer? Additionally, what do I connect the JoyBring Orange (illumination) wire to?
The Metra 70-2105 harness does not match up with the radio, as there is no orange wire or orange/black wire. I had to purchase an alternative harness, which was disappointing. While I connected everything and it works, I have no idea what to do regarding a dimmer, because I am not sure the advice in the video was accurate for the 2010 Vibe, and neither harness I purchased has a orange/black wire. The mounting bracket included does not fit a 2010 Vibe and has to be modified on the left lower bracket (Sawer or Filed down). This would have been better, if explained. Otherwise, the video was well done.
I see tons of aftermarket stereos with GPS, but no reviews. Is there a good system with 3D GPS graphics, good stereo sound, USB or SD port, Bluetooth and rear cam. I don't trust anyone of the ones I have seen online.
You can installed a tablet with all technology?
Hi
I have a 2012 matrix.
Does this parts work for it?
Are these part’s compatible with 2012 Toyota Matrix?
Well, I thought this would be super easy after watching your excellent video, but it turns out the wiring in our 2010 Matrix XR looks different than the Metra 70-2105 Wiring Harness Adapter has. I can't seem to post a photo, but it has 4 connectors, not just the two on the adaptor harness. I assume one is for the steering wheel controls, but the location of the colored wires doesn't line up at all with the Metra warning harness. The radio we're replacing is a Fujitsu Ten, Toyota part 86120-02710. Any suggestions for a suitable harness?
OK< it worked perfectly. 2 of the factory harnesses not needed.
I bought the kits you linked.
My metra 70-2105 wiring harness does not fit my 2003 Pontiac Vibe.
And the metra 95-8224 does not fit my factory mount either. Like even if I shave it Downcomber it will not fit Is through the actual space.
Im confused, mine does not look like the wiring harness you are using. But it is the exact wiring harness you show a photo of while talking about the Metra harness
I'm wondering if I should Just find a wiring diagram for the car's wiring harness. Then just saw her the head units wiring harness to those wires? I would much rather return these parts that don't fat and get this working tonight.
You purchased the wrong parts. See the parts linked in the description have different years categories, so you've purchased the wrong harness. See the description for the right parts. *Metra 70-2003 Wiring Harness Adapter: amzn.to/3pqidYV
How did you determine which location was correct for the dimmer? Did you use trial-and-error, or did you find a schematic?
A multi-meter or test light is the easiest way.
❤
Hi, For a 2010 Toyota Matrix Base. What antenna adapter will be suitable and would I have to perform the dimmer orange cable swap?
Thank You!
Just plug the factory connector in. I'm not sure why this guy made all this so complicated. You don't have to run a red wire. It's in the $5.39 wiring adapter from Metra.
Hey there. Thanks for your video. I got the swrty 61j but the connections don't actually fit my 2009 matrix. I have three white connectors and what looks like a blue IR connector in my dash. Any advice would be awesome.
Also it's the JBL with steering wheel controls.
Ok after some tinkering and properly looking for all the parts in the crux box.. I found the correct harness and got to it. Pleased to say that EVERYTHING WORKS! thanks for the video - really I'm so happy with the unit. Didn't think it would make such a difference to the sound but dang. Also the android feature is great. Let me know if you have any videos for a 2011 tacoma. that's next on my list!
@@BP-dt5bxhey man did you have to do anything with the dimmer switch for your matrix?
@@matthewmalure8730 hey no actually it all just worked with the harness. Dimming works. However I found that the steering wheel buttons are switched around now. I'm yet to figure that one out..
@@BP-dt5bx thanks so much for the quick response. I plan on installing it tomorrow so hopefully all goes well.
My factory radio made no sound so I bought a new one. Installed it and the new one has no sound. Any ideas?
did you check speakers?
You're from utah right? Me too!
Yeppers!
What Antenna Adapter is needed for a 2008 Matrix? I don't see one listed. Thanks!
If there isn't one listed, it probably doesn't need one!
@@ProvoBeastAudio You were right. Thanks!
Can anyone comment as to why the Vibe/matrix would need a separate 12v connection? everything looks copasetic on the harness end.
For the gm version (not the Toyota version), there is no 12v analog accessory wire at the radio as it’s driven by data. There isn’t a supporting smart harness for the gm version, hence why you need to run a 12v accessory wire to the fuse box or similar location
Thanks for the quick response. @@ProvoBeastAudio
I put an Android HU in my 2009 Vibe w/Monsoon. Everything works great except I can't seem to get the steering wheel controls to work. I have seen a few diagrams showing the pin locations for the vehicle's harness, but I don't know which of the remaining wires on the ISO connector hook up to them. I have ILL, KEY1, and KEY2 wires left unused on the HU side. I also have a hissing sound very noticeable at low volumes. I'm guessing that might have something to do with the signal coming out of the HU being amplified and not line level?
Did you have to use a line output converter with the monsoon system?
@@corbinwalters I didn't. Would I have to mess with the amp under the passenger seat, or just could I just wire it between the HU and the vehicle harness?
@@cpatterson365 I won't lie to you, I've got no idea. Crutchfield recommended I get a line output converter. I just got an 09 vibe with the monsoon system yesterday as my first car and I'm just trying to research the best way to put a new head unit in it.
Where can I find a power adapter harness?
We linked all parts we used in the description
Thanks for the reply, I have a 2012 matrix with the steering controls, do you have a part number or link for the harness adapter? TIA
Where is the link to back up cam

Do you really need a backup camera for such a tiny car?
Hi are these parts compatible with a 2012 Toyota Matrix?
@@aacc-sy3sdtoyota matrixs’ are bigger cars than the average sedan that comes with a back up camera. size has nothing to do with if you need a back up camera or not you sound ridiculous 🤣 these cars are not tiny at all they’re literally hatchbacks lol
you don’t need a smart harness, the stock one is fine, im using a universal harness with NO dash kit, you seem like your jumping through extra hoops with no reward
That will get you into water REALLY fast. Hacking up the harness, and jerry rigging the radio without the proper parts is a recipe for disaster. Just because you are okay with those standards doesn’t mean everyone else should stoop to that level.
