Would love a video on pregnancy safe skincare including acne treatments and anti aging / moisturizers. So many products are combo (i.e. vitamin C with other things like peptides, etc.) and it's hard to know whats safe to use for all stages.

I’d also love this video! In the meantime, gentle cleansers without salicylic acid, rich moisturizers, Niacinamide and Azalaic acid (and sunscreen of course) have been great for me during my pregnancy. My skin became a lot more sensitive and I did develop some dermatitis around my nose and under my eyes, so for a while I was only cleansing and moisturizing. The acne in my first trimester was not fun either.
I wish we knew more in general about what was truly safe vs not safe. A lot of stuff that we are advised to avoid is just because we don’t know and it’s considered unethical to test 🤷‍♀️ . And I get it. Better safe than sorry. But it sucks. Pregnancy/breastfeeding can potentially take up 2-4 years of your life.

Looking back from when I was pregnant, I can definitely say the massage part is definitely key! Later in life learning more about skincare and adding some of these ingredients, my stretch marks have gotten so better over time! I haven't done anything specific to treat them, I just have a consistent routine of hydration and exfoliating ❤

Unlike others I am NOT impressed with this video. It is of no use to make a list of many treatments that MAY work as who wants to spend many months trying each of these treatments before deciding on which works best, as this would take years. As dermatologists they should have treated many patients for stretch marks over the years and so be able to tell us which one or two work best.

I’m sure there’s a reason why they didn’t mention it but when I was pregnant I slathered vanicream. One think that I noticed about vanicream compared to other moisturizers is that she’s heavy and really creates a noticeable barrier. I found when I applied it at night and woke up the next morning most of the moisturizer was still there. Where other more affordable moisturizers would be all but gone

    • @SpArK4GrL
      @SpArK4GrL 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Vanicream is really great! I use it on my preschoolers face because she gets a type of eczema and it’s the only thing that’s helped and doesn’t irritate her sensitive skin. I also apply Aquaphor on top to really seal it in overnight. I’ll probably use this combo on my newborn once she’s born too. It’s so gentle and nourishing.
I’m using a heavy CeraVe cream with HA and ceramides on my baby bump though with Aquaphor on top.

Here's a little hack for applying minoxidil. Use a small paintbrush to apply it to your hairline recession. I have the same hairline recession which I call my cul-de-sacs and use a paintbrush to control how much and where it's applied. I bought a set of natural fiber brushes at the local Wally World and it works great. Also use it to apply caffeine from Inkey List.

I got stretch marks from taking hydrocortisone for adrenal insufficiency. Took awhile to get the correct dose but the damage was done. The marks are bad enough but I also get extremely painful (and huge, sigh) acne flare ups. They are also quite bloody-I think the skin is thinner. Lots of ruined shirts. I’m a 62 year old male.

What helped me the most with white(old) stretch marks has been carboxytherapy. The problem is that I did get 30 sessions on them to see an improvement. They did shrink in size but did not completely disappear. Maybe if I do get more treatments but they're very expensive. If anyone out there has white stretch marks and the funds to get them treated, definitely get carboxytherapy.

Hey friends- this is what I’ve done as a mom of 4 that reduced my stretch marks some have faded completely. You have to have a semi pain tolerance. Consider using numbing cream or a lower percentage of product.
Microneedling with dr pen. Use ordinary hya acid. Wipe off and cover with 10-15% vitamin c mixed with 10% glycolic acid. Alternate various days with trentinoin and vitamin c until peeling occurs. While it’s peeling only use hydrating products like cicabalm or vitamin e, or zinc (I use zinc pca). I also like ordinary retinol w squalene. I use lightening products during this phase for maximum absorption. You will see results once skin peels. Repeat 1x a month. I have stretch marks that are 17yrs old vanish. This basically combines everything they just said. I did my research reading studies to come up with this formulation. Good luck!

So MAYBE the oil helped. If I get pregnant again I’ll use it again. But it’s likely just genetics! 🧬

Thank you immensely for this enlightening video. Your content has consistently been informative and has provided me with invaluable insights. I do have one suggestion regarding the references and research papers you present. Many of them seem to be dated quite a while back (e.g., 2012). While I understand that these studies may serve as foundational knowledge, I believe incorporating more recent papers would enhance the accuracy and relevance of the points you're trying to convey. Nonetheless, I sincerely appreciate all the valuable information you've shared. Thank you once again!

I have 4 children all by natural birth. I have NO STRETCH MARKS to this day. The key, I believe is my mom had me to start using moisturizing oils before my belly began to grow and I continued during the entire pregnancy. Of course skin elasticity plays a part too in my opinion, but it worked for me I am 71 years young and never had any stretch marks. So it depends on the individual. Thanks for the suggestions because my daughters both have stretch marks. I will share these suggestions maybe this may help them. 😊

To all pregnant ladies; Scratching the extremely itchy, stretching skin causes stretch marks. Best advice I got, buy a cocoa butter stick and use it on your tummy instead of your hands to scratch everytime your tummy itches. Gets that itch and helps prevent tummy itching further from dryness.

I do think you look fabulous in your fluffy Bow headband. I love the cute style and color. I would use this silk one to protect my edges while I sleep but think I'll stick to my cute bow when actually washing my face. Super adorable.
I got my stretch marks when I had a growth spurt as a child. I call them my tiger stripes. They aren't super dark but fairly noticeable.

As for the stretch marks I got one when I was pregnant with my second baby and it was only about a half inch long. I dutifully used Coco butter all the time when I was still wet getting out of the shower. I used coco butter and mother's friend with my second baby. Started at my neck and down to my toes, both babies.

Have you guys ever looked at or tested products from L'Occitane? Another brand that can be pricey...so curious if from your standpoint any of their haircare products are worth purchasing. Thank you for your videos ❤

The first stretch marks I got were on the sides of my breasts after they just suddenly grew. I thought I had done something wrong like touched them. 😹😹😹 I was pretty naive and thought that I wasn't supposed to touch my breasts - that it was bad. Anyway, I look back now and laugh. 😹

It would be great if you could do a video specifically for dark skin! What to avoid, what works, treating hyperpigmentation and keloids, etc
I’m an esthetician and know so many treatments, especially in office, were designed with only light skin in mind, and it’s essential to me to be able to help anyone! Ty in advance!

3:40 I have stretch marks across my shoulder like that but it goes over the top of my shoulder too, when asked about my 'scars' I always say I got them fending off a mountain lion during a camping trip.
