Hey Dr. Dray, just wanted to say I hope your mom is doing ok and please let her know we miss her, wish her the best and eagerly await her return to the channel.
Honestly, I don’t even care about my stretch marks. I have so many other body image issues that I’m fighting, I am surprised that my stretch marks don’t bother me lol I have lost about 40 lbs and have another 20 to go. I have loose skin & stretch marks. Oh welllllllll...... (ONLY SPEAKING FOR MYSELF NOT ANYBODY ELSE)
I keep looking for mine and I can't really spot any. Some marks I think may be it but not sure. I kinda want to know if I have any and not be surprised later.
Applying sunless tanner actually accentuates my stretch marks. My skin tone deepens but the stretch marks are effectively old scars so the colour doesn’t take and the contrast is then greater as the white/silvery tone stands out more. I don’t care though, literally every woman has stretch marks and if they don’t, I guarantee they will get them at some point in their life!
I have stretch marks across much of my body since I was 14. In in the last year in my 30s I experimented with different methods. I was very surprised to find that microneedling did help with older stretch marks. I use both an alpha hydroxy cream and a retinol cream which seemed to help as well. Although some of the challenges have been creams applied to the body are much more cost prohibitive. I also wonder about the safety of vitamin a when being used over large parts of the body vs. just the face and try to minimize this by alternating sections. I was going to incorporate centella about 3 days after microneedling to help with the wound healing. I found chemical peels on their own not to produce the results I was hoping for. Hopefully someone finds some of this helpful :)
Olly Measurements thanks for this. I had read that microneedling helped. I bought a kit and plan to try it, but I've been hesitant. Your message really encouraged me. Got mine at a very young age due to copious amounts of steroid cream my mom applied to my skin without understanding the consequences. I swear mine have never "faded to white".
Mine are my tiger stripes - because I'm fierce. They are over my thighs, bum, and bust. They show my life, my growing, my shape changes, the babies I've carried. I own them! Those silver marks are damn fine and I'm very much fond of them. I'd much rather a me with them, than a me without them. Own them ladies, own them - they make you you and YOU are beautiful.
I use shea butter and cocoa butter the whole time I was pregnant it didn't do anything but after I got the stretch marks that were red I use Mederma and it helped tremendously like I don't even see anything

I got pregnant at 24, and had my little one the day before my 25th birthday. Now I’m covered, absolutely covered in stretch marks(stomach, all around my thighs, all over my breasts(I was a 36 AA and only went up to 36 B), butt, a couple under my arms(!!)) Trust me, you want to prep your skin now!! I do believe that genetics play a key role, but my skin barrier was very fragile from ineffective moisturizers and body washes. Wish I had known about the hyaluronic acid in lotion beforehand!
This is great! I'm pregnant right now, first time. Stretch marks are ok, but I like to prevent them as much as I can. There is no magic solution, but I'm really happy you mentioned centella, because I'm already using that after I did some research on my own. Confirmation that I'm doing at least something right haha!
@@renelleblythe3827 To be honest, I'm using the PURITO - Centella Unscented Serum right now. It maybe sounds weird, because it's meant for the face, but it's really hard to find ANY (good) bodylotions with centella (I live in the Netherlands). It contains high amounts of centella and it also contains hyaluronic acid. On top of this, I just use a basic, fragrance free bodylotion.
I have a few stretch marks from my pregnancy’s. With my 1st and 3rd I didn’t get any new stretch marks. With my 2nd I just got 1 on each of my sides and with my 4th I got 3 or 4 very small once on my stomach that are hardly noticeable. I made sure to lotion with cerve lotion that has hyaluronic acid in it and I’m happy with the end result of having a very minimum amount of stretch marks after 4 pregnancy’s. I got some stretch marks as a teen. During pregnancy many years later got some on my lower abdomen but I am not ashamed and I proudly call them my mama stripes!
The Palmers tummy butter and massage lotion is really helping me during my pregnancy. It seams to help me for these new stretch marks and my old ones but its only a slight difference. I remember using bio oil in high school that really made them almost completely disappear. I just wanted to try something different. I'm going to use bio oil after my pregnancy.
So, how should I use all three? (Adapalene, Cicaplast and Hyaluronic acid) Do I layer them? Or should I apply Differin (adapalene) before bed?, HA and Cicaplast after a shower?
I just realized maybe it's because of what we're eating recently that makes our skin not elastic enough for future stretch marks that would appear because we are not consuming enough certain nutrients that keep our skin elastic.

I never got stretch marks but my son got them on his back when he had a major growth spurt. I didn't know that could happen. It almost looked like he had lash marks. His cousin had them on the backs of her legs after a growth spurt about the same time. Was just odd to see kids with stretch marks
it is not odd, people like you are odd that find normal stuff odd just because they didn’t have it...be informed rather than feeling odd about perfectly normal stuff that happens to kids too...shame on you for calling it odd because you are uneducated
Lots of luv from india , you really helped me in my pigmentation ,after watching you, as a medical student I realised to share all my scientific research to the people around👍
I am too. For the people that say "don't be", that is dismissive and doesn't help. It is a process learning to accept that our bodies change as we go through life and our skin can show that journey. Stretchmarks are scars, and there is an emotional reaction to the permanent change. I am working on removing the shame and stigma myself.
Hello! I had my first baby 3 months ago so I have plenty of stretch marks that are raised and pinkish-purple. I’ve tried everything to reduce their appearance! from coconut oil to a “specialized” cream called StretcHeal which gave me NO visible results! So I bought Differin, the HydroBoost cream, and a good sunblock to test whether these would work.I’m on day two so I’m not sure if I’m experiencing a placebo effect, but I see a noticeable difference in the appearance of my lighter stretch marks. I am eagerly waiting to see my results in the next month. P.s. don’t worry I’m not currently pregnant or breastfeeding
Hey! I am impressed with the results that I got from using Differin! I did however change to a La-Rosh Posay Lotion. I live in a very dry climate, so the HydroBoost wasn't as moisturizing as I wanted it to be & it made me break out- I have sensitive skin. My stretch marks faded from raised, bright pink- purple to being hardly noticeable. I applied the Differin after every shower, then followed up with moisturizer for a solid month. I didn't use the sunblock too often because I didn't really expose my skin to the sun that summer. I definitely recommend trying out Differin. hope this helps
I don't think it's "bad luck" to get stretch marks. It seems to be a process happens to a lot of people. I really do think skin-care and self-love has the power to provide tender love and care to parts of us (and our bodies) that deserve it the most. Thank you for these tips Dr. Dray!
When I was around 10-11, I had stretch marks on my upper arms, just small areas, and also on my breaststroke. My mother threw a horrible fit on me, saying people would think I was pregnant. They didn't really bother me until she made me feel.ashamed of them. Now, 45 years later, I'm still ashamed to.wear a sleeveless shirt.
Off topic but a video on idiopathic guttate hypomelanosis and to know if there’s anything that can be done for it would be so helpful. There’s very little information out there about it.
Dr Dray, what do you think of using AHA lotions before and during pregnancy to prevent stretch marks? Since AHAs build collagen, wouldn't they help in preventing stretch marks? Would love to know whT you think..

I guess we didn't no any different. How about a cup of tea, sweet friend? I think we should relax together and have a sweet treat too! Sending you lots of love and hugs. I hope you have a great 4th of July! 🇺🇸 Talk to you tomorrow! Sweet dreams!! ❤🎇❤
Which one of these methods did you try
I never got stretch marks but my son got them on his back when he had a major growth spurt. I didn't know that could happen. It almost looked like he had lash marks. His cousin had them on the backs of her legs after a growth spurt about the same time. Was just odd to see kids with stretch marks
it is not odd, people like you are odd that find normal stuff odd just because they didn’t have it...be informed rather than feeling odd about perfectly normal stuff that happens to kids too...shame on you for calling it odd because you are uneducated
How often should you chemically exfoliate stretch marks?
Also how about physical exfoliating or body brushing? Can this help or hurt stretch marks
Lots of luv from india , you really helped me in my pigmentation ,after watching you, as a medical student I realised to share all my scientific research to the people around👍
Hi Dr Dray, Happy Friday!!💙
I just got new stretch marks on my stomach and I’m devastated 💔
Same 😭😭
dont be
I am too. For the people that say "don't be", that is dismissive and doesn't help. It is a process learning to accept that our bodies change as we go through life and our skin can show that journey. Stretchmarks are scars, and there is an emotional reaction to the permanent change. I am working on removing the shame and stigma myself.
If y'all are curious, Dr Dray has a video on BioOil...
David Fletcher one of her greatest hits IMO lol
David Fletcher: Type “dr dray bio oil” in the TH-cam search bar to find a video on this topic.
What type of chemical peels would you recommend for diminishing stretchmarks?
Hi, how did it go?
@@cavilll2554 Thanks a lot for the tip!
I don't think it's "bad luck" to get stretch marks. It seems to be a process happens to a lot of people. I really do think skin-care and self-love has the power to provide tender love and care to parts of us (and our bodies) that deserve it the most. Thank you for these tips Dr. Dray!
Thanks for the infos! Are the ingredients mentioned safe in breastfeeding?
Any of these safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding
I thought I had some kind of disease, thank the void it was just this. I should keep an eye on em anyway.
Happy holiday Dr Dray and peeps ❤️!
Same to you!
Thank You!! Happy Firday!! Have a Beautiful Weekend!!
Autocorrect changed some words, I didn't notice before I posted, sorry.
What does tretinoin NOT do? 😋
Can you recommend any niacinamide products?
What about microneedling combined with tretinoin & hyaluronic acid added after 24hours after treatment
?
There are some people using that at the time of micronnedling
I have heard some people say pure shea
butter is good to use as a moisturizer while pregnant on the belly, would You agree?
I can attest to that! It works!! Pure Shea butter though
Dr Dray - any similar solutions for older stretch marks that have faded to white many years ago?
Dr. Dray, I’ve noticed in your scar video you list silicone as a treatment/ prevention but not in the stretch mark video. Is silicone not as helpful in stretch mark prevention?
Dr. Dray. That headband is adorable! Where did you buy it?

Should retinol be avoided on the stomach if we are planning for a future pregnancy?
I got them at age 10 as I grew too fast for my skin to keep up. It kept growing with me and I really don’t care about them now. I’ve been used to them for so long,
God bless u Dr.dray❤️..can u answer me about what products or what ingredient in the products we should not use while using the differin? 🤔🤔🤔
Hi Dr.Dray,
Does the hyaluronic acid in the neutrogena cream penetrate the skin ?Thanks.
Hi Dr Dray I know this is off Topic about your video, but does tinted windows at home prevent UVA from coming in?
Is there an order to applying these?
Doctor what about the retinol during breastfeeding
Is raw Shea butter good for stretch marks?
Would love a response back! I just had white stretch marks show up out of nowhere on my abdomen. Never went through the pink or purple phase. I dont want to do laser therapy. I've tried many creams, bought a derma roller I'm planning to use, and a home miroderm abrasion kit. Anything else you recommend me doing before visiting a derm? Thanks! Love your content!
