    Great lock and even greater pick!!!!
    I love the Kryptonite series locks and this particular one is a top notch lock. I had one I sent to UK as they can't find it anywhere and as soon as I did, I can't seem to find one here. Lol
    A popular lock for sure.

    Great work on those pins. If you had thrown in a super spring you might have got a whipped.
    Also, great job picking this one Bill - surprised you got it so quickly after seeing those pins & modifications.

    Honorable donk did an excellent job on that kryptonite, anytime it takes Bill 4 mins to get "lucky " (aka talent) on a lock, you know it was a tough one! Nice picking Bill, and thanks for the video!

    For Challenge Locks after you gut it do you reassemble and set it aside or do you rekey and package for remailing forward within a day or two? What's your typical process after you pick and gut? Beautiful lock, great video with clear imagery and crisp audio.

    • @bosnianbill
      @bosnianbill  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Robert, I stopped accepting challenge locks about a year ago, the logistics & expense was simply too great. Anyway, whenever I gut a lock I re-assemble it and return it to the owner. If the owner does not want it back, I give it away to a new lock picker at some point. I am not a collector and see no need to clutter up the shop with locks that I've already picked.

    hey bill! i'm also a fan of those cheap dollar store finger LED's. pretty useful for a quarter each.

  • @beardy736
    @beardy736 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I often wonder how effective deep under cuts almost a shape and a bunch of I shaped pins, with the idea that any turn on the core would catch the top or bottom of the I pin in the V of the core. All pins would therefore have to be in position before applying any rotation (which you would get on a normal key).
    I'm not a locksport guy so i don't know if this is viable and if it is whether it's a 'cheap' move.

    Hi Bill Nice picking These challenge lock's are getting more complicated all the time I wonder if the Manufacturer's are locking in and in the year's to come there will be a Super duper anti crack, pick, Bash, Grind, Melt, Drown, And Explosive Proof Lock and make it affordable for all, the latter probably the hardest to achieve Trouble is where doe's that leave Locksmithing OK for many years until every one's got there quota. On a positive note your channel's one of the best on youtube and i'm sure you will find a way by hook or by crook.

    When I realized it took Bill 4 minutes to pick a lock I first thought :" Wow, it's weird. Bill must be tired." Then he took it apart and I was scared that he opened it within only 4 minutes. I try to learn thanks to your videos Bill. But I have a lot of difficulties when it comes to seriated pins. No way I could open this one even with some "Luck" as you call it. Nice video !

      Haha. Didn't expect this kind of answer. You chose your subject wisely ;) Have a look at the lemniscate if you're also interested in maths :D BTW I added an 'i' to Bernoulli's name because I couldn't decently get the exact same name.

    • @RPRosen-ki2fk
      @RPRosen-ki2fk 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I noticed the extra i, but I wasn't going to let that stop me, from making the comment, LOL. I love MATH, so I most definitely, will check out lemniscate. I never heard of it, so you've got me really ... CURIOUS. I'll let you know what I think.

  • @matthewlemon4208

    I'm extremely new too picking. It seems to me that most commercial locks combat picking by tightening tolerances, not with innovative design.

    really nice pins and great pick

  • @Ralesk
    @Ralesk 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I like how one of the pin-in-pin key pins was poke-through, but the other wasn't - I wonder if that made a difference between the two, seeing how you press the whole thing up in one and maybe just the inner pin in the other if you're unlucky.
    As for the serrated inner pin stalks... I guess if you somehow push the outer pin above the shear line, but allow the inner to flop back down again, the stem will go in slanted (if the outer pin's chamber is wide enough) and then you'll start to feel the bumps while re-picking the same pin to proper height. Or at least that's the intention I could guess for it.

    more weird voodoo than I have seen in one lock, and still picked?
    What more could have been done?
    maybe 2 pins with super tight tolerance?
    I don't know\

      My guess would be he/she is left handed. He/she rotates the bottom edge of the paper 45 degrees to the left (8'ish o'clock) when writing. This enables him/her to write with a straight wrist, rather then the awkward curled over wrist that many left handers use.
