I thought exactly the same yesterday Brendan. I am very sad to hear that I won't see him and his videos again. It was BB who got me into picking, and I think that everything I learned has come from him. Here I am, at nigh-on 68 years of age, and I am so sad, sad, sad at this news. Thank you for everything BB...
I certainly wish Bill a happy, healthy, and peaceful retirement. This story, despite being awfully sad, reinforces my belief that Bill is truly an upstanding guy. Best wishes, Bill.
During an extended stay in hospital recently one of your videos popped up in my news feed. I was so fascinated that for the 3 weeks I spent in hospital I binge watched your channel, Bosnian Bill and Lock Noob. The end result was that by the time I left hospital I had a new hobby and a few hundred dollars worth of lock picking toys on order. I’m still very much at the start of a steep learning curve, but I am starting get a feel for locks so the 3 channels listed above have become part of my every day routine. All I can say is a big thank you to all 3 of you guys, I appreciate all your guidance. I for one will miss Bosnian Bill’s videos. 😊🇦🇺
You guys know why I like LPL? I am not particularly interested in picking locks, but the length of his videos. In three minutes he told about Bill, his situation and all of that, AND he picked a lock. In an era of hugely stretched TH-cam videos, these are such a treat. Short, precise, informative, fun. But relaxing and calm, at the same. I really hope that more tubers would downsize their videos... I wish good times for Bosnian Bill, and Mr Lawyer.
This send off is so professional it felt like he died. Also, I actually bought the tool Bosnianbill and you made when you guys first released it. Thank you both for an amazing tool and priceless knowledge.
I remember I donated some money to Bill's channel when he was starting to get pretty darn popular. It was so early that he would send out a personal thank you email. ( over 5 years ago! ). I still have that email! It is sad to see him go. He seems like a really awesome guy. Wish him, and you, all the best
Bill was responsible for getting me interested in lock picking. New videos will be truly missed. The quirky sense of humor, gutting disasters, and perpetually cut up hands made him such a character. I wish him well.
BB is truly an amazing character. I'm glad that he is focusing on the important things in life. That being said, it saddens me to think he is just going to disappear. Even if he just dropped in every two or three months to say hello it would be welcome. We the audience develop a quite a connection with you guys. Its like losing a good professor unexpectedly.
I haven’t even seen a BosnianBill video, but never before has hearing the words “click out of three” brought a tear to my eye. BosnianBill, I wish you the best! Be happy, love all, and make the most of life.
I first discovered Bosnian Bill before LPL, I found his videos oddly interesting and soothing for some reason. I would never really give a second thought about the quality of locks but you guys have shown me just how important it can be and how easy many of them can be able to bypass. Bill will definitely be missed but thankfully its on his own terms.
I was so scared he had passed away… but I’m still sad about how his life was affected by this pandemic. What a truly wonderful heart to take care of others like that.
"acknowledging those who came before me". The late Carl Sagan suggested that one definition of "civilisation" was "the ability to learn from those who are now dead".
Just about every time LPL will say “the pick me & BB made” a glance of sorrow will brake the silence. Congrats on the retirement. True RED devotes his precious time to the family is always healthy wise choice!
Even though he mentioned it multiple times, his is the only time i've EVER seen him use that pick without immediately mentioning "The pick that Bosnian Bill and I made" as soon as he inserted it into the lock. Even BB can throw LPL off his script game every once in a while.
Bill was instrumental in my now twenty-year long learning curve. A TH-cam lockpicking legend, he will be missed and remembered but most of all respected and appreciated for his skills, his generosity and humour, and now for making a hard but wise decision. You have picked your way into many a heart. Thank you, Bill: we appreciate you. Salutations and well-wishes!
He's a heaven sent angel, a true blessing upon mankind, those who can't see that are truly blind. A voice so sweet and mild, gentle like the softness of a pillow, soothing like the wind through willow, if one day he passes, my tears will be thick as molasses, now he shares his time his kin and friend, for us all a sad but happy end. May his retirement be one which he can look back fondly on.
When it takes longer to say good things about a friend than it takes to pick a lock, what are you? A better friend or a better lockpicker? I guess both
Awwwww 😞 Sooner or later we all have to make the decision "when?" BB surely will be missed. Besides enjoying the mega knowledge trove he has and shared , I just loved his voice.
Me looking at the opening scene to the video: "Oh yeah. GunslingingBill." There was a video where he and LPL busted open a hardened padlock with a literal shotgun. That's where I personally remember him.

Sad to hear he’s leaving, but it’s good to hear that it’s for a reason that will bring him more happiness. Also, he can always collab with LPL every so often and let him worry about the editing 😆
A sad day to be sure, but everyone's entitled to their peaceful enjoyment of life no matter what they choose to do with it. Bill owes us nothing, but we sure owe him a debt of gratitude for the great content he gave us. Thanks Bill!
So long Bill.. thanks for getting me into this wonderful and challenging hobby. I would say you are the Master.. but to you that would be an insult.. Godspeed my friend.. and THANK YOU !!!!!
Damn, that buildup really had me thinking, and I expect a few others as well, that we had lost BB to the nasty virus. Luckily the news is bittersweet as BB is now focusing on what matters most in life.
Thank you LPL for the update. BB was the first channel that had me enthralled with the complexity and intricate skill level that it takes to be a professional locksmith. His humility mixed with humor only added to his greatness. With all of this in mind, his ability to simplify what he was doing and why he chooses particular approaches, really made it as comprehensible to kids and adults. That alone is monumental. What a wonderful friend, teacher, and all around gift of life that our world desperately needed, and appears to need more and more, with every passing day. LPL, by reading these comments, I hope that you also realize what contributions you have made, toward the betterment of individual lives, and to society as a whole. Like Bill, what time and effort that you both have put forth over the years really does make a difference. I don't think you will ever know just how much of an impact to people's lives that you have made and will continue to make for many years to come. Keep being that glimmer of light for a world covered in darkness. Thank you.
Farewell and happy retirement, Bill. The imagery LPL here chose, of a cross on a practical tombstone, made me think the worst so I'm glad it wasn't a directly-personal tragedy, and lament the sad story that was told regardless.
Thank you Bill for all your hard work and awesome videos! You have been very helpful to me and I’m sure will continue to be for quite some time. Enjoy your family! It’s truly a very rewarding way to spend your time. I’m happy for you. I’m sorry it took the death of your friend to realize it, but it really is a positive that came from her untimely passing. Live in the moment and I know you will in your awesome videos. Best wishes.
It doesn’t really surprise me, he’s always had this patient, grandfatherly way about him and in an emergency like this he’s the kind of guy to step up and make things right. Much respect and many thanks, m’Bill.

I for one will miss Bosnian Bill’s videos.
😊🇦🇺
Not sure a lock being picked has ever brought tears to my eyes before... A toast to Bill and his legacy.
Bosnian Bill was who got me interested in lock picking. He is a true master and I wish him nothing but the best.
same here.
That goodbye had me worried until you said retire
Edit: Nope, still sad
Same here.. Phew
Happy ending when you think it’ll mean more time with his loved ones
Locks everywhere breathe a sigh of relief. We, on the other hand, will miss him.
He probably wishes his good friend that died would drop in every few months too. How rude can you get?
@@blitzofchaosgaming6737 wtf is your problem?
@@azelynhirano My problem is entitled viewership that thinks the loss of their entertainment is more important than the loss of life.
@@blitzofchaosgaming6737 "it would be welcome" can you read?
@@blitzofchaosgaming6737 And? The loss of his friend isn't even the main reason he retired.
You misspelled plandemic.
@@macethorns1168 probably part of your plan lmao
keep your fearmongering out of this wholesome lockpicking channel

I'd wager that wasn't a coincidence 🙃
I figured it was just because LPL explicitly mentioned that BB helped him develop that pick, just not with that exact phrasing.
Taking on the responsibility of kids who recently lost their mother, and who's father is in the hospital...Bill must be a pretty good guy.
Much respect to him for putting his life on hold to help others. This is the mark of a truly good person
He was a marvelous teacher, witty and funny. But he got a upgrade: he now is an official fn hero. Thanks Bill!
I thought Bill was a good guy before. He's a pure Saint in my eyes now.
As much as I’m sad to see Bill retire, the executives at Masterlock are celebrating!! Happy retirement Bill!!!
When a kind friend talking about his kind friend.
Happy retirement, BosnianBill!
Keep healthy to LPL and BosnianBill.
Bill is a true legend! He taught me so much and helped me get started all those years ago.
Thanks to you and Bill for all your great work!
Masterlock: "It's an opportunity!"

I hope you have not retired, you are doing less videos.
Didn't expect him here!
@@boomboxing4402 don't have to imagine 👍
Ok
When it takes longer to say good things about a friend than it takes to pick a lock, what are you? A better friend or a better lockpicker? I guess both
Yes!
"The pick Bosnian bill and I made" evolved to "The pick I wouldn't have without him"
Beautiful.
If he starts just calling it "The pick I wouldn't have without him" in future videos, I will cry
Our best wishes to BB. Is there a GoFundMe for BB's friend to pay for medical expenses and help with the kids?
I bet the community could step up.
He has a paypal linked on his youtube channel's banner
A lockpicking grandmaster giving his good wishes to a fellow lockpicking grandmaster who retired... This really moved my heart🙂
Sad to hear, but family does always come first.
Miss ya Bill.
I'm glad he was able to help out his friend in a time of need, and he's earned that retirement several times over. Hope you guys keep in touch.
Awwwww 😞
Sooner or later we all have to make the decision "when?" BB surely will be missed.
Besides enjoying the mega knowledge trove he has and shared , I just loved his voice.
Me looking at the opening scene to the video: "Oh yeah. GunslingingBill."
There was a video where he and LPL busted open a hardened padlock with a literal shotgun. That's where I personally remember him.
They've also 'opened' some locks with a .50 cal.
That is the lock in this video
The squire padlocks iirc. They took those beefy monsters to the shooting range. Iirc
@@dragonfable66 you do. Going to miss Bill making content.
I know I'm not alone in shedding a tear. We will miss you, Bill. Legendary.

Not this time, LPL. If I click like then who retires next?!
Yes, that was a sneaky lawyer attack.
Have a good retirement Bill ;)
Does anyone know what will happen to the Bill's "nasty bucket" of locks that couldn't be opened on camera? I think it could be interesting to see LPL explaining the intricacies of each one.
Thank you Bill. I am new to the hobby. I have been I spired by your wonderful videos and the videos of the lockpickinglawyer! You both have shown me that the lock picking I watched in P.I. TV shows as a kid, are completely possiable. Though I will never achieve the level of skill or natural talent you both possess, I will enjoy the journey. Thank you both so much for sharing!!!
Sorry we don’t have a “goldfish” watch for Bill’s retirement. As much as I love TH-cam, glad he found something much more worthwhile to enjoy his life doing
I can respect their reasons for retiring but will still feel sad and miss them. Thanks for letting us know what was happening!
I came across Bosnian bills name by chance. Now I have 1000s of videos to watch now over the summer break.
It’s a shame I came to the party late, but all the best to him and his family.
My god, Bill is such a good bloke.
I’m equally happy and sad to hear this news, I wish Bill and his Family the best!
Sad to hear he’s leaving, but it’s good to hear that it’s for a reason that will bring him more happiness. Also, he can always collab with LPL every so often and let him worry about the editing 😆
The padlock looking like a tombstone and the pick a Cross was a clever touch!
His legacy will forever live on through his videos and "the pick that Bosnian Bill and I made"
A sad day to be sure, but everyone's entitled to their peaceful enjoyment of life no matter what they choose to do with it.
BosnianBill and LPL are my all time favourite channels. Such a shame, although he has his reasons!
For some strange reason I can see BB being an awesome “dad” for a few months. He is the sole reason I got into locksport and I wish him all the best!
Good luck to you, Bill. Such a great human to help out his friend like he did.
Bill I’m so sorry for the loss of your friend. I wish you, your wife and your adopted family all the best.
Thank you.
Great send off LPL.
Your level of friendship shown to Bosnian Bill is stronger than any lock I've seen either of you encounter.
Cheers!
Farewell and happy retirement, Bill. The imagery LPL here chose, of a cross on a practical tombstone, made me think the worst so I'm glad it wasn't a directly-personal tragedy, and lament the sad story that was told regardless.
I'm glad it wasn't either because the emoji might be a bit tacky.
Wow Bosnian Bill was really kind enough to take care of the children. I wish him luck!
It doesn’t really surprise me, he’s always had this patient, grandfatherly way about him and in an emergency like this he’s the kind of guy to step up and make things right. Much respect and many thanks, m’Bill.
I'm sad to hear he's leaving TH-cam, but I can't fault his reasoning in the slightest. He will be missed, I hope he finds retirement fulfilling!
Amazing two hobbies have become some of the most beloved professionals on TH-cam. Hats off to both of you and BosnianBill’s new journeys.
Bosnian Bill is who got me I to lock picking. Ever since I've always loved his content and watched all of his videos I could for all the tips and tricks he had. Great man, I wish him all the best
Here's to Bosnian Bills retirement, lets hope he gets the itch and will put out a video every now and then. Thank-you for all the little stuff that comes from a lifetime of picking, the finesse and little intricacies that you do not get in a manual.
I am new to picking and I hate that I only discovered Bill years after his retirement. Thankfully his catalog is still available to learn from. Thanks Bill.
I almost cried when I saw this title... I was expecting to hear he had passed away, not retired. I will miss hearing Bill's commentary on various locks. His style reminded me of my grandfather and I'm really going to miss hearing him.
LPL, you have always been a class act, and this tribute clearly emphasizes it. Thanks for all that you do and your collaboration with others.
As always LPL, you are so kind, honest and respectful to your friend Bill. Who truly deserves this. Thank you for these load of information and entertainment from your teamwork. Have a great time with family and friends, Bill🤗🍀👍Stay safe and healthy.
I’ve been watching Bill since 2013. His was the first lockpicking channel I came across. It’s sad to see him go!
