Anton Bruckner's Symphony No. 8 in C minor is a monumental work. Here, the WDR Symphony Orchestra under the baton of its then principal conductor Semyon Bychkov, takes on Anton Bruckner's Symphony No. 8, 2nd version. Recorded live on 4 December 1999 in the Kölner Philharmonie.

現在はチェコ・フィルの常任をしているセミョン・ビシュコフの指揮で、ケルン放送響の演奏ですね。音がはっきりしていて、ブル８の曲の感じを掴むのにいいですね。

It's a "finale symphony," everything leads up to that, so if you get the coda wrong it ultimately fails. I could not hear the strings which are integral to the effect.

I adore Bychkov but I think this Rendition of the 8th is too meditative...and too romantic either...but it is just to make a point. Really a great conductor

Je vous trouve un peu injuste. Certes la toute fin de la coda est à mon goût un peu trop rapide. Mais c’est très très honorable comme prestation.
