And as if it not enough, forgetting one gun platform when hyperspacing out.
Homeworld 2 has one of the worst vsync implementations I've ever seen. At least in a game I care about, I like it a lot be true. It is already bitchy to get normal smooth vsync, and capturing just ads the next dimension..... Therefore "only" 25 fps. Recording in 28.5 fps is possible and smooth but unusual, 25 is more common.
Watch either in 720p or "original", youtube seriousely fks up the pictury quality at 1920x1080 with that video, I don't know why. TH-cam-Player also limits to 2048x1536 maximum, get the full resolution with the usual browser add ons. I would have recorded in 4928x3080, but youtube doesn't handle it correctly (only offers 1920x1080 max). - เกม

I think the reason why this scene is still amazing to this day is because it nails sense of scale perfectly. It's one thing to just make a ship big, but the way Bentus is introduced to us makes it so much more than just being big. It feels ancient, massive, and elegant. We're given the inside-view and you can see all the little lights and windows. That's what space games should take note of.

It is not the Last of the Bentusi. There are a few ships that jumped to Andromeda during their flight from The Beast.
Reference detected: Homeworld Cataclysm. Later renamed to Emergence, but my package says: Cataclysm. It is IMHO the best of the three. Graphically is Homeworld 2 superior, but playing Homeworld 1.5 is more fun.

@@SportyMabamba You describe the end fight in Homeworld Cataclysm (later renamed to Homeworld Emergence) perfectly. I had to aim with the whole ship, which turns SLOW, and then fire the big cannon blindly where the sensor manager showed it is, or where I knew it will be in a few seconds.
Cataclysm/Emergence is not included in the Homeworld canon. I think it should be, but alas it is not so. :/

Trying to make a model out of it. Modeling and 3d printing the whole ship isn't a problem at all. ALL THAT LIGHTING is the hardest to plan into the model.
What's next UHD?!

The follow up does not have a name yet, so I call it 6K. It is currently questionable whether it will come in our lifetime since we are quite close to the limit of th eye with UHD.
The center of sharpness of the eye does have a sharp resolution, but just a little beyond that it goes down rapidly.
Only by constantly moving our eye we are able to see the full 4K, our brain puts the image together.
Set up an 127 cm (or 50 inch) UHD monitor about one meter away from you and you won't be able to make out a single pixel. But you constantly have to turn your head to completely see the UHD since the eye cannot actually see the full picture. Take a tapeline, measure and try it!

Did you notice that the design of the bentusi ship is inspired by a lock? Bentusis carry a mystery to unlock.
When I compare the price: a good game may cost 50 to 80 Euros (when I buy it right away). But can give you 50+ or 200+ hours of good fun and entertainment. When going to the movies... well, up to three hours for 10 to 20 bucks?
The design is inspired by the great harbor of carthage, it is a great harbor ship afterall.
The Bentusi design is somewhat similar in architecture to the Progenitors and the color scheme at the same time not similar.
The home world story is a bit confusing at times..
Homeworld Cataclysm (quasi Homeworld 1.5) has the best story so far.
@@JouMxyzptlk as a standalone game, yes, is amazing for a RTS, as a Homeworld game? nah, its a bit silly sometimes and it doesn't really fit into the lore and concept of home-world story telling, feels more like edgy teenagers felt in love with it because the whole "zombie apocalypse" like setting, other than that, I really don't see much potential in the game.
What is confusing? if you mean that hiigarans before exiles became as Vaygr are now, its Bentusi comparing them because pre-exile hiigarans wanted all 3 cores and Vaygr now want them as well
@@viktormatilcak25 I hate that people say homeworlds lore is confusing especially for 2 people complain about the hyper cores and that the plot seems rushed even though it seems fine paced to me tbh. Deserts of kharak also was able to explain said complaints about homeworld 2 the ancient warmonger hiigarans crashed their flagship once they were defeated on their Angel moon where once they were evacuating the exiles they smuggled it aboard one of the exile ships. The Bentusi also felt so guilty for what happened to the hiigarans they disassembled their navy and became mainly traders and travelers instead
Hyperspace also isn’t really understood in the homeworld lore and is mentioned multiple times ships equipped with hyper drives can only make short jumps the motherships drive most likely wasn’t known to be a core when the khar toba was excavated and dug up and also had to be bootlegged to function
@@viktormatilcak25 I will say though I wish they did explain or give more information on some subjects in the game the ghost ship in homeworld one is never added onto the bentusi show up ask for your data on it and then leave and it’s never explained again
The progenitor mothership is also one of the main ships I wanna know more about knowing how tough the keepers and sajuuks armor is what in the fuck shattered their mothership? and where did they go?

The Bentuzi are arriving....
I find this scene disappointing, it could have been more. There is a strong sense of mystique and even awe the moment Bentus arrives. But that for me is immediately gone as soon as they start infodumping you in such an abrupt way. It goes from a mysterious and gigantic space ship to a glorified drive-by exposition machine.

Lol. How the fuck could you possibly think this is anythign other than an RTS? Every single trailer for the original and remake clearly show thi is an RTS. It also says so on the Box and the STEAM store page. First bit of text you see on the steam page.
