Companies like netflix, amazon, disney would ultimately destroy the franchise with their “miniscule” twists for representation of minorities and other superficial unnecessary bullshit. Even games workshop fuck up most of time, even though you can watch 40k lore on warhammer plus, in series format, its behind a huge paywall which is stupid enough as it is. To think loyal fans and newer ones are treated like money bags is a dick move by games workshop. I’m just waiting for Henry Cavill’s warhammer series to release, although its just rumours at this point, he’s the last bastion of hope that games workshop can’t corrupt with money.

Hey, uh, my guy... This is from Pariah Nexus. Literally straight from GW. I'm not saying whether it's good or bad. But it is a canon show from the company. So you're basically saying GW doesn't know what their IP does. Again, not saying good/bad.
@@GuidingOlive If you are a 40k Fan, you know for a fact the "shot callers" in that Corporation have no Knowledge or Love for our grim dark universe. 🤷♂ "Astartes Project by Syama Pedersen" is just living proof of that --- one man's passion project trampled 30+ years of 40K media.
@@advancedmonkey7702 Again, it's not an (is the content good/bad). It's specifically "no idea who they're depicting" when the author of the product wrote the script. You and I can love/hate it as much as we want but that depiction is canon. So it is true* * True to the extent that everything in 40k explicitly states that nothing is true and everything is retcon-able. Personally, I don't care one way or the other about the Smurf pulling on an empty mag. I understand that lore wise, it's inconsistent but any 40k fan knows that SM lore is incredibly inconsistent. And I don't even wanna mention how inconsistent the lore is to their fights with other factions like T'au where literally depending on the "hero" the other side is incompetent. (See: Shadowsun v. Severin Corvax). The point of all this being, GW and inconsistent SM lore are a tale older than this clip and they decided that the Smurf would fire his pistol dry. Cinematically it adds tension and the narrative supports the desperation that any astartes would have fighting a Death mark. It's lore inconsistent but honestly SM are very inconsistent in power going back probably more than a decade ago.
Do you think they don’t know who they’re depicting or it’s just to convey to the viewer that the Marine is out of ammo? Don’t think so hard about it my dude.
The dumbest hill that I would die on is that bolters never sound right. Everyone makes them sound like chunky machine guns when they should sound like automatic rpg launchers.
But... isn't both of what you mentioned wrong? The RPG one more though. The characteristic sound of a RPG is the launch stage and then the - compared to bullets - very slow travel. Bolters on the other hand have a propellant for the start (in a casing even, iirc), like normal guns, and then only after it left the chamber a rocket propellant is ignited. So, basically a bullet that keeps it's speed high via a rocket drive. So, this should only add some woosh/howling - or whatever - to the "usual" sound of a 20mm/15mm round...
@@Xirtamani So bolters, originally, were caseless. They later retconned that because spent cases flying out of the gun looked cool in the art. However, the idea was the propellant in the case was only enough to get the bolt out of the gun, after which the bolt ignited and accelerated towards the target. I think in one of the books it's described along the lines of a low thump, followed by a loud whoosh, and a little later a second low thump as the bolt explodes inside of the target. Now admittedly Games Workshop could have further retconned it since. But like I said, it's a dumb hill, but it's mine.
@@sampiaggio9534 Caseless ammo doesn't change anything important there. We have that too nowadays (we just don't use it, because no one solved the downsides). My thought process is that the bolter needs to perform well. When the first stage can only plop out the bullet, then the rocket stage would need to do the job of the acceleration and thus they would be very slow to arrive at long and middle range. Hard to aim, easy to evade so to say. So it at least needs to leave the Bolter at a good speed and the rocket stage whoosh basically layers itself over the end of the bang and then continues for a very short moment. GW probably never got into specifics with all that bullet speed and so on. Not to mention this isn't exactly the universe of practicability and logic 🥴. But yeah, we probably won't see that part of their bolters being used in media. Which I agree would be cool, since it's unique and would sound unique. Depending on bullet speed, range to target etc - the overhead to do it right could be big too though. Fun talk 😊
@@Xirtamani That's poor phrasing on my end. I didn't mean caseless ammo, I meant that it didn't, originally, have the initial propellant. The bolts were sololy rocket propelled. That being said, you're points are absolutely spot on. I think part of it for me is that the bolter is such a nonsense weapon. Like it feels like someone did a line of coke and then screamed, "the super soldiers could have guns that fired tiny rockets that exploded inside of people!" and then everyone high fived and did more coke. Bolters should be ridiculous but we don't get ridiculous, we get heavy machine gun.
They really could get such a great series of movies or shows out of 40k. 100s of episodes would barely touch the surface of the lore. It's a shame how you see the lore being destroyed as soon as it gets any mainstream support.
you know, from a certain point of view it really seems impossible that 50 space marines together can lose a fight from the eyes of a newbie of the lore like I am, but it's the fascinating part of the thing at the same time
I don't know this stuff but things ring familiar. Can these Necrons teleport in and out of battle? Is it like one at a time or do they teleport whole regiments like in David Drake's 'Hammer's Slammer's'...? Can forces teleport vehicles as well?
Now there’s a series I’ve not thought about in a long time. As for your question, only a few of them can teleport, Deathmarks are one of those units. I’ve not looked at a Necron codex or played against them in years, so something may have changed. IIRC, fluff wise, Monoliths can drop out of orbit. Normally, if Necrons are showing up out of nowhere, there’s a warp portal they’re coming through.
@@dscrye Wild! Man, there are a lot of moving parts to WH, I had no idea. But for density of material there are a lot of great ideas, which is very compelling... I appreciate you taking the time to respond, thanks!
@@liamphillips7315 Monoliths (the fortresses that can drop from orbit) also happen to have a permanent warp portal, that can be used to transport units quickly, since its quite big, and can maybe fit 5-10 people in its portal width : )

Dunno why they want to add female Space Marines when we already have the awesome Adepta Sororitas.
They don't. They've made it pretty clear that female space marines won't be a thing.
Just female custodes.

Those are the sisters
@@mostlyharmless7715 Bro are you serious? The Sisters of Battle are their nickname. The name of their order is Adeptus Sorortas.
Don't correct someone if you yourself are incorrect.
They didn’t. They added Female Custodes. Their methods of being made are completely different. Each Custodes were custom made by the Emperor and the top scientists of the Imperial, Each took centuries to make and they can look whatever way the creator want them too. Space marines required a boy to be trained heavily and add a gene seed of a Primarch to mutate them into Space marines, they are mass produced unlike Custodes.

Why can’t there be like a full series anime of this seriously
Because honestly any animation studio would fuck it up horribly without someone deeply devoted to 40k lore producing it.

Edit: and They did animated in 0:21 on the HUD, it shows he had 6 shots left.
So it is true*
* True to the extent that everything in 40k explicitly states that nothing is true and everything is retcon-able.
@@GuidingOlive Let's agree to disagree but I would never accept GW's butchery.
Do you think they don’t know who they’re depicting or it’s just to convey to the viewer that the Marine is out of ammo? Don’t think so hard about it my dude.

There was NEVER any female space marine. But there WAS the sisters of battle, which were pretty dope imo.
Just ripped my shirt off, what happen?
Feels like *Astartes* got them right, at least.
the sisters of battle and the ultra marines, epic duo
They really could get such a great series of movies or shows out of 40k. 100s of episodes would barely touch the surface of the lore. It's a shame how you see the lore being destroyed as soon as it gets any mainstream support.

minthara from bg3 doing the narration
Is the narrator the same voice of minthara? The drow from baldur's gate 3?
Hokey Emperor worship and ancient weapons are no match for a good bolter at your side, kid.
Haha. Nice one
you know, from a certain point of view it really seems impossible that 50 space marines together can lose a fight from the eyes of a newbie of the lore like I am, but it's the fascinating part of the thing at the same time
I don't know this stuff but things ring familiar.
@@felixtpholm9377 Very cool! That's a great idea, I'd love to see that in action! Thanks for the reply👍
So, to summarize, only a limited few units can *self*-teleport, but the Monolith can mass warp units for initial deployment and final retreat.
