  • When a trio of Planet Killers appear over Hiigara, there is only one possible course of action:
    BRING SAJUUK TO BEAR!
    BRING SAJUUK TO BEAR!
    BRING SAJUUK TO BEAR!
    ======
    This video is part of the Stormbreaker Trilogy, a long-running series of fanfiction stories that bring together the worlds of XCOM, Stellaris, and Homeworld and merges them into a single unified story:
    "Set across three distinct time periods, multiple generations of heroes will decide the fate of the entire galaxy by participating in the events leading up to, during, and after an apocalyptic war."

    When he says bring Sajuuk to bare. I felt that.

    Congratulations! Those planet killers are nasty things, took so long for me to beat that level! 👌

      Thanks. I'll give the Homeworld series credit where its due, even though I've been playing these games for twenty years, the final missions in each are still hard enough to give me a challenge.

    Seeing the planet killlers makes me wish relic was able to carry out their T-mat designs.
    Here is hoping for them to appear in homeworld 3

      I remember seeing the old concept art for the T-Mat vessels on the Well of Souls/Homeworld Shipyards website. Always thought they were cool.
      Now that you mentioned it, I had to double-check to see if Homeworld Shipyards is still around, and it is! A fun little blast from the past.

    It took me far too long to realize you could Hyperspace jump with the Sajuuk.

      The original UI in Homeworld 2 made it a little more clear back then.

      Word! lol I literally moved Sajuuk manually and destroyed the planet killers.

    Sounds like they had the VA do a few takes of "Bring Sajuuk to bear!" but they forgot to clip them into pieces 😂

      Nah, it's common in some industries and the military to repeat an order to make sure it's understood. It's a way of shouting without shouting.

      Homeworld 3 gets closer every day. I have high hopes for it, so I'm still comfortable with the devs decision to delay. For now at least.

    To anyone replaying the campaign before HW3, use formations, rushing with all ships like OP did will mean you need to rebuild your fleet constantly. Less losses if the ships cooperate in a strike group.

    I can remember...
    I have made this mission without sajuck's tactical jump capability because I have no idea that it has. :D
    Sajuk fly with its own sublite engine until the superbeam weapon reach that surface bombardment platforms. during this time, 2-2-2 interceptor squadron hunted down the missiles. :D
    Good old times. :)

    Population of Hiigara is 180 million. But only 600,000 colonists, plus Mothership crew survived the destruction of Kharak. So how did Hiigara's population swell to that size in Karan S'Jet's lifetime? Were they cloning? Writers didn't think this through...

    • @Macavity116
      @Macavity116  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed. Someone forgot to do the math. In my fanfic series, I cheated around this problem by suggesting the population of Hiigara is a mix of newly-arrived Kushan and Taiidani civilians who either would not or could not depart after the Homeworld War.

      @@Macavity116 Perhaps the Kadeshi were finally convinced to rejoin their long-lost brethren on Hiigara. Even then, 180 million is 300 times the size of the original population! 1.8 mill is a far more plausible number.

      Hasn’t Karan lived an already long life at that point? Didn’t her being fused with a ship greatly increase her lifetime?

    There's something about that scene with her eye as she stabilizes the trinity. It's always felt powerful as all hell.
    Frigatelostfrigatelostfrigatelostfrigatelostfrigatelost. D: D: D: D: D:
    The mothership class ships always set me the wrong way. What's the point in them doing the extendo-arm-thing if they're launching missiles? If it were a beam weapon I'd say it would make sense for them to star out like channeling subspace power or something.
    The sound effect was utterly unnecessary and took away from the ambience of the music.
    Also.
    BRING SAJUUK TO BEAR.
    BRING SAJUUK TO BARE.
    BRING SAJUUK TO BEER.
    BRING SAJUUK TO LEAR.
    BRING SAJUUK TO SEEK OUT A SEA OF TROUBLES.
    Aside---well done.

      Yeah, once their usefulness ran out I just kinda threw all my frigates at the Vaygr. At least they kept the enemy super-capitals too busy to engage Sajuuk or the Interceptors.

    Seems to me its worst Homeworld 2 Mission:
    1. the mission copy/paste one of the Homeworld Cataclysm missions
    2. during the mission there is no any opposition from the enemy ships
    3. the design of the planet killers doesn't match the missiles they launch, they don't even have visual missile launchers holes
    3. planet killers are unable to defend himself or attack Sajuuk or anyone at all, they are just targets

    • @DrownedInExile
      @DrownedInExile ปีที่แล้ว

      That's all the more galling, since the events of Cataclysm don't even get a passing mention!
      And don't get me started on the population of Hiigara, somehow swelling by 300 times in the span of Karen S'jet's lifetime...
