Is the quick shifter what makes it fart? I still don’t get what the advantage of having one is.

Yes its the quickshifter. Its cutting the throttle and engaging it, and since its stil some unburnt fuel from the on/off throttle in the system, it ignites it. No advantage of having it on the road, except its really fun to use! But have to say, after having had a bike with a qs, I will never go back to not having it.
