    0:15 you can see that tire is turned and the intention of the driver as they VERY slowly start to change lanes. This was the fault of the guy on the bike for not paying attention.

      @zero11010 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bjb7587 as you do it more you get to recognize more indicators.
      Any gap big enough for a car is a thing people may turn into without notice or signals or even looking.
      You can notice the head of a driver start to look around as they think of turning. This will happen before they actually start to change lanes. You can see this from a ways off. Sometimes you see it in a mirror. Often you can see it through their rear window.
      You can usually notice the tires of the car turn before the car makes it much of anywhere. This was visible in this clip.
      Another is placement. A car close to the lane dividing line is more likely to be positioning themselves to make that lane change.
      I’ve been riding a long time and spent years lane splitting in rush out traffic in major metropolitan areas. Never an accident. Constant lane splitting.
      It’s your job to keep yourself alive. It takes work and it’s a skill that can grow and a skill that can dull.

    4:50 I dont think he was hit from behind. You cant see anyone in his mirror.
    What I suspect happened, is he rides a DCT and accidentally twist his throttle. Usually experienced riders are used that they can blip the throttle as long as they are in neutral. If you do that with DCT you will be torpedoed forward. The jolt probably made him want to hang on, which further exacerbates the problem.
    You can also hear the bike reving up.

    4:03 when you ride it’s YOUR job to be as visible as possible. If that driver looks in their mirrors they can’t see you. If they look over you don’t look like a car and they can’t see much in that passenger window.
    If you’re adjacent to a car be clearly visible and a little in front of them. The goal is for it to take ZERO effort for them to see you.

      When you’re on the way to the hospital (if you’re lucky) at least you’ll be able to blame someone else though!
      Personally, I’d rather ride defensively. I assume no one is paying attention and that people can’t see me. I don’t ride in blind spots. I assume people will change lanes without signaling. I assume people will change lanes a second time if they’ve changed lanes once and another lane exists. These are good habits. And, I don’t blame others for things I could have prevented myself.
      I also been riding for about 15 years and never been down. This includes time commuting into a major metropolitan city while lane splitting (all four seasons, rain or shine) and riding on wonderful Northern California canyon roads at a very good pace on a supersport bike.

    0:30 Love how he blames the other driver.
    If you have this sort of accident, you were going to fast.
    Splitting lanes is relatively safe, so long as you keep your eyes open and you go faster than 5 MPH over the other traffic speed.
    Keep in mind, 2 things. Car drivers will not be expecting you to be there. Always be ready to avoid cars changing lanes.
    Also, many drivers don't understand why splitting lanes is sometimes required. You may encounter road rage.
    0:50 This is what happens when you are going at a safe speed. He was able to avoid this accident with ease.

  • @brohofied2561

    First thing you should ask to a cop asking you to stop recording is "why?" he will have to be very careful about his answer and it will be recorded even if he himself tries to shut the camera by force. If you have any aggressive action after you asked him "why" then you should check if you can do something legal against the cop. Of course cops hate being recorded, cause that makes them accountable. Just think that cops using extreme force or abusing authority get almost no real punishment even when being recorded, imagine how will they lie about the incident if they are not recorded. The only way to win a feud against a cop is by having him on tape, theres no other way, cause cops protect cops, but cops cant protect themselves of cameras.

    Last clip the cops were real jerks. You don't have to remove your helmet. If he wants you to, he should ask. You don't have to turn off the camera, he can ask, but he can not demand it. These guys were not part of the bigger group that pissed off the cops, The cops were taking out their frustration on the wrong guys. But they were speeding and deserved the tickets for speeding.

    • @Lilith-Rose
      @Lilith-Rose ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You do have to remove your helmet when told to, its classed as a lawful order since you're subject to a traffic stop. It's lawful for reasons of officer safety, you ever been headbutted with a helmet?

    • @benjaminrapp7418
      @benjaminrapp7418 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree that they earned their speeding tickets. But if an officer doesn't want you to film, that means they 100% intend to violate your rights and do not want that evidence. An honest officer will never tell you not to film.

    • @coryrohrbaugh1208
      @coryrohrbaugh1208 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Lilith-Rose no you don't. A lawful order is an order that is backed up by a law. For example pa vs mimms is the law that allows them to order the driver out of a car on a traffic stop or Maryland v Wilson which is the same law but for passengers of said car on a traffic stop

    • @Lilith-Rose
      @Lilith-Rose ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @coryrohrbaugh1208 pa v Mimms determines it is a lawful order for officer safety, that's the overarching reason that being ordered out of your vehicle is considered a lawful order, because it is for the purpose of officer safety, so you just quoted the exact case law that proves it is a lawful order. Its not just one specific action that is justified, it is anythingthat can be reasonably considered necessaryfor the safety of the officer conducting the trafficstop.
      Also you cannot identify someone using photo id while they are wearing a full helmet so they also have to remove it for that reason.
      That's two solid lawful reasons that you must remove your helmet when told to do so by an officer on a traffic stop

    • @jp1087
      @jp1087 ปีที่แล้ว

      The cops weren't jerks at all. They were perfectly calm. Yes, when instructed to remove your helmet, which the officer did do, you should do so. It's so they can verify you match your ID, there's nothing wrong with that. It's no different then asking to remove your sunglasses or a mask. They can also request you to stop recording; however they also know that you don't have to stop recording. The thing with recording cops is that too many people get up in their faces with the camera, or make it more about getting the interaction on film instead of being respectful and focusing on why they cops stopped them. Too many times people try to use it as a way to aggravate the situation, or provoke the officers. If you want to record the interaction, just be respectful about it, and when you get stopped, just comply with legal requests instead of acting like a bitch.
