    Rapid deceleration will cause the fire burning from the explotion of combustion stroke to be thrown out the exhaust valve cause things happen to quickly for the engine basically

      Actually it's due to air entering the end of the exhaust. This can only happen with after market exhausts. Air gets sucked back into exhaust sometimes. This is where unspent fuel is and high temps where combustion can occur. This leads to backfire, "decel pop" or flames

    • @RipBruv
      @RipBruv 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Augustus Czar was just gonna comment the same thing. Picture exhaust smoke going out the pipe, acceleration cut, no more exhaust, empty space in pipe gets filled with air from behind pipe due to vacuum, which mixes with unspent fuel causing in combustion and under right circumstances it’s visible! Fast bike go boom, see flame.

    ok now for the actual science. when revving the bike and letting off quickly not all the fuel is burned so it dumps raw fuel in the exhaust system to be burnt by the heat coming thru from the next throttle blip, also possible with a badly tuned carberator like my 1200 bandit used to have, useless but it was fun making backfire pops at night. lol

  • @MarkMeadows90
    @MarkMeadows90 6 ปีที่แล้ว +22

    Basically it's just unspent fuel through the short exhaust coming out of the valves of the engine.

  • @augustusczar7375
    @augustusczar7375 4 ปีที่แล้ว +24

    High air flow exhausts have a chance to pull air into the end of the exhaust where high temps and combustion can occur. This is due to unspent fuel in the exhaust exiting the motorcycle. This results in "decel pop", backfire, or flames

    • @blink4art
      @blink4art 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's called afterfire, not backfire...
      Backfire are bad, and can blow up your throttle bodies, burn your filter, etc!
      Backfire are bad, and happends inside the motor...
      Afterfire are ok, and happends in the exhaust...

    The fire start when the hot unburn fuel meets the oxygen out the pipe,so the fire really starts outside and goes in .

    Does hitting the kill switch on and off mid ride help create the back fire ? I have a Honda cbr double 600 with a twin brother exhaust

    • @j.acencc6273
      @j.acencc6273 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pretty sure that will just shut your bike off...

    • @Alegzander1990
      @Alegzander1990 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Actually it will, if you're at ~3-4k RPM at least, and you have a carbureted bike. As soon as you turn the ignition back on, it will pop. That's because when you turn off the kill switch, since you're still traveling along, the pistons will continue to move up and down in the cylinder and therefore will continue to create a vacuum on the intake side. As a result, they will still pull fuel in from the carburetor, but since the ignition is off, the spark plugs will not fire, and that fuel will end up unspent, in the exhaust. When you turn the ignition back on, combustion will resume and probably the hot gasses now exiting the combustion chamber, along with the heat in the exhaust itself will ignite the previously unspent fuel present in the exhaust.
      Anyway TLDR, if you have a carbureted bike, you can force it to pop by turning off the ignition and turning it back on above ~3k RPM (at least on my CB600F it's around there) or so. Depending on how long you keep the ignition turned off for, will influence the loudness of the pop. Hold it off for longer -> more unspent fuel -> "bigger bang".
      I wouldn't abuse this "trick" though. Apart from potentially getting you into trouble with cops etc, idk if it's too good for the engine and the exhaust itself...
      If instead you have EFI (electronic fuel injection), then it won't work for obvious reasons. If you cut off the power to the bike, you also cut off the fueling.
      EFI equipped bikes though can still pop on letoff though. You just can't "force" them to do it with the killswitch method.

    Tell me when we fully remove the exhaust system so why flame coming out from exhaust port and flame come whenever we put aftermarket exhaust like you.. So why do flame occur is there any original cylencer back pressure difference wich allow fire to remain inside the cylinder or is there any spark time delay... Plz reply

    • @augustusczar7375
      @augustusczar7375 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exhaust pop happens due to air going back into the end of your exhaust. I know it sounds crazy, but hear me out. With high flow, after market exhausts air can be pulled into the end of the exhaust sometimes. This is where unspent fuel, high temps, and combustion can occur. This causes "decel pop", backfire, or flames. This can happen on any bike with a high performance exhaust

    You are stoned bruh? Backfire is a reason for unbalanced mixt between fuel and air. Too much air, too less fuel, or viceversa. Go to a shop to balance it! Seems fun now, but when you valves will fry...well, not fun anymore.

    • @cookiemonster15781
      @cookiemonster15781 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Backfire will damage the engine because it’s firing inside the engine, after firing won’t do anything as it’s already left the engine and is at the end of the system
