Assume he knows everything. - Gideon spends all his time and resources on creating super-soldier robots. One Jedi kills them all. Them all. The CIS armies had better Jedi killing records. I take George every time over Disney! George Lucas IS STAR WARS. Ok Nothing will change that. Sure, I agree that he was presented in a great way (all evil and demonic, as you said), and I love Ian McDiarmid's acting as I said in my OP, but none of that has anything to do with his purpose in the story. He was a perfect character in the original 6 George Lucas films, and had a great, satisfying ending at the hands of Darth Vader (who sacrificed himself to save his son), so for them to bring him back kinda kills the effect of Return of the Jedi and Darth Vader's sacrifice as a whole. What makes it even worse is that they brought him back just to do the exact same thing they did with him in Return of the Jedi - have him be all evil, and then die, so essentially there was nothing new added, and thus no purpose whatsoever. What makes it EVEN worse is that they brought him back with no build up or anticipation - it was completely out of the blue, and Disney obviously had no plan going into this trilogy. Also, Rey being his granddaughter is just laughable IMO.

You know what would’ve made this ending actually an ending, instead of Rey killing a sith god all by herself, have the Force lightning actually be too much for her to handle alone then when Palpatine says “I am the Sith” you could have Ben appear from behind Rey using Luke’s lightsaber to block the lightning with Rey and he says “And we are the Jedi.” Then all of a sudden the Force ghost of Luke and Leia appears beside them followed by (Old) Anakin Then Obi-Wan, Yoda, Qui Gon Jinn, Mace Windu, Ahsoka, Kanan, Cal and a bunch of other Jedi from movies, cartoons, video games and books (they don’t need to be played by actors or properly CGIed, no ones going to mind) And because there are so many ghosts in one location their bodies End up lighting the whole Sith Temple and they all together with Rey and Ben use a Force push on Palpatine that’s so strong it ends up disintegrating him into nothing. There I made an actual ending for the Skywalker Saga with actual Skywalkers
I actually liked the movie, and I agree with you. The way Rey took down her grandfather alone was hokey and kinda anticlimactic. It would make more sense if the killing blow at least went to Ben, a Skywalker.
I’m glad that despite a couple scenes where they looked a little to short the lightsabers looked so great in this movie unlike ahsokas Luke’s and yodas in the shows

But yeah the villains are getting Stormtrooper levels of bad, and TCW Grievous levels of incompetent. Some fun moments:
- Moff Gideon's battalion has the Mando surrounded. One droid literally walks through everyone.
- Mando and 'friend' walk into the middle of an Imperial base. Kill an officer loudly. Firefight their way to safety.
- Gideon gets Mando to turn his back on him. Attacks him with a weapon that cannot penetrate his armour. Assume he knows everything.
- Gideon spends all his time and resources on creating super-soldier robots. One Jedi kills them all. Them all. The CIS armies had better Jedi killing records.
You've got to overlook *some* of this stuff if you're into this kind of action franchise. But cmon!

I’m not a conservative, but Disney didn’t make their Star Wars homework while writing the script for the sequels. George Lucas put in his movie his full heart and soul and he was more concerned creating with his new trilogy something unique and something never been seen before. We can be happy to have Dave Filoni as G. lucases “apprentice”. I hope that someday Dave F. will make a new sequel trilogy based on the stories that Lucas wrote! But that will likely never happen.. but we can just hope..

That was probably the most disappointing part about the entirety of TROS for myself. Hearing Anakin’s voice but not seeing him at the end of the legacy that he started. A total misstep on Disney’s part.
Also it basically just rubs it in that Anakin’s sacrifice meant nothing in the end. He didn’t actually restore balance to the Force because Palpatine never actually died. This whole fucking trilogy is just all about Disney cashing in on Star Wars after buying it out, and then squatting and taking a great big dump on the first two trilogies.

I love Ian McDiarmid’s acting, but Palpatine as a character in this film was embarrassingly pointless, cheap, and unsatisfying. The same can be said for the entire sequel trilogy.
So true. He gets taken out by Rey. A guy with over a hundred years of training and experience with the force beaten by someone with maybe two years. And he didn't even bother to construct another lightsaber for some reason.

So apparently we’re all retarded. First of all, this is the one movie out of any of them where the Sith actually felt demonic and evil like they should. Secondly, sure Rey shouldn’t be able to beat Palpatine but she literally had all the Jedi helping her defeat him.

Sure, I agree that he was presented in a great way (all evil and demonic, as you said), and I love Ian McDiarmid's acting as I said in my OP, but none of that has anything to do with his purpose in the story. He was a perfect character in the original 6 George Lucas films, and had a great, satisfying ending at the hands of Darth Vader (who sacrificed himself to save his son), so for them to bring him back kinda kills the effect of Return of the Jedi and Darth Vader's sacrifice as a whole. What makes it even worse is that they brought him back just to do the exact same thing they did with him in Return of the Jedi - have him be all evil, and then die, so essentially there was nothing new added, and thus no purpose whatsoever. What makes it EVEN worse is that they brought him back with no build up or anticipation - it was completely out of the blue, and Disney obviously had no plan going into this trilogy. Also, Rey being his granddaughter is just laughable IMO.

You know what would’ve made this ending actually an ending, instead of Rey killing a sith god all by herself, have the Force lightning actually be too much for her to handle alone then when Palpatine says “I am the Sith” you could have Ben appear from behind Rey using Luke’s lightsaber to block the lightning with Rey and he says “And we are the Jedi.” Then all of a sudden the Force ghost of Luke and Leia appears beside them followed by (Old) Anakin Then Obi-Wan, Yoda, Qui Gon Jinn, Mace Windu, Ahsoka, Kanan, Cal and a bunch of other Jedi from movies, cartoons, video games and books (they don’t need to be played by actors or properly CGIed, no ones going to mind) And because there are so many ghosts in one location their bodies End up lighting the whole Sith Temple and they all together with Rey and Ben use a Force push on Palpatine that’s so strong it ends up disintegrating him into nothing. There I made an actual ending for the Skywalker Saga with actual Skywalkers

I actually liked the movie, and I agree with you. The way Rey took down her grandfather alone was hokey and kinda anticlimactic. It would make more sense if the killing blow at least went to Ben, a Skywalker.

This was the first time in a movie a was cheering for the bad guy. Not because I wanted him to win, but because he was being beaten so easily. When Rey started pushing the lightning back I was like please no, don’t die.
Honestly while it was stupid that he came back at all, Palpatine was the saving grace of this film.
