And Obi WAN’s response feels even more accurate. He is like “Wtf? No I just watched you choke her to death you fool.” And says “You did that yourself.”
It’s almost like Obi Wan was the audience, confused on why Anakin was saying this.

It made sense in the original too because it seemed as Padme had been brainwashed by Obi's perspective from Anakins point of view. When she says she couldnt follow him in his delusion, and refuse to continue with him, he says that.

@@MorbidGod391also Vader's ignorance of his children because he thought them to be actually Kenobi's. May be he even feels Luke rather than Kenobi on the Death Star (in IV) as something he hadn't felt since Padme on Mustafar, Kenobi going into the battle to prevent their meeting. After Luke uses the Force and connects to it, Vader cannot deny the truth and starts the way to return to the Light Side. If Anakin turned against Kenobi for taking his family, no wonder he turned against Palpatine. Otherwise it doesn't make sense why Vader hadn't turned on him right after loosing Padme since it was main reason for his defection in the original 3rd episode.

@@StarWarsAnalyst That's pure speculation on your part... Llke alot of things on this channel.
Anakin wanted more power since he thought to be the chosen one (And George Lucas made it so from the start with the stupid immaculate conception with shmi skywalker)
*Since he was a Jedi ! He pledged an oath to celibacy that he negated from the start* ...
He should have been expelled from the Jedi order, but they kept him because they used him and because they were afraid of what he could do since his "a child of the Force" (immaculate conception).
The distrust between Anakin and the whole Jedi Order only grew, and Palpatine just used and manipulate Anakin BUT also befriend him to the contrary to the jedi who only used him.

I've long had a theory that Lucas didn't want to make Anakin into Vader when the time came.
It's my opinion that because of all the media and merchandise around Anakin Lucas pretty much turned him into one of the defining childhood heroes of thousands of children and when it came time to pull the trigger and show his fall to the dark side he was so unsure of what to show people that he just fumbled the ball because he was uncertain about taking a generation of children's symbol of good and justice and twisting him into sorta space hitler.

This video confirmed what I had long thought. During the released version you can tell Anakin has suspicions about Obi-wan and Padme when he says "Obi-wan was here, wasn't he." You could hear the jealousy in his tone, (Hayden did a good job of expressing that even if the scenes were cut leading up to that.) and before they begin their epic fight on Mustafar. "You will not take her from me!". Even without the deleted scenes, you just knew that his anger was also fueled by his jealousy, and the fear of losing her. I had always assumed that Palpatine had a big part in putting those insecurities into Anakin's mind, and these deleted scenes explain better, as to why he was more willing to turn to the dark side even though he must have known that it too, would have ended their relationship and marriage. It was hard to believe that he could think that Padme would ever support his idea of ruling the galaxy with her however they wished. A last ditch effort to win her back from Obi-wan I suspect, by promising her power and a type of freedom they never had together. His mind was totally twisted by that point and time.

I am glad to see Hayden getting rehabilitated. A lot of the "poor" acting on his part was from writing and him being told to act a certain way. He was told to be robotic to simulate Vader but it didn't work on some scenes. He was truly a good actor, frankly all the acting was good in the Prequels, the story was crap though and I wish I could see them remade with better writing that lines up with the OT (notably, Anakin shouldn't be a CHILD when Obi Won meets him. His description of Anakin in a New Hope doesn't line up with the Prequel introduction). Make Anakin a member of the Naboo Air Force.

Examples being the switched lightsaber hilts during the Anakin/Obi-Wan duel, or Obi-wan turning the wrong way when leaving Kamino. As Yoda clearly explained to Luk in ESB, a Jedi doesn't crave affirmation. A Jedi's concern is supposed to flow _outwards_ , not inwards. A Jedi who needs their ego to constantly be stroked with a "thank you" or "you're doing great" is someone who became a Jedi for the wrong reasons. Qui Gon outright told Anakin in TPM that being a Jedi wasn't easy. Glory and external affirmation is what darksiders chase after.

But on the other hand, the Jedi knew Anakin wasn't a child raised from infancy at the Temple, who didn't have much background to speak of, but a child who had already had long and painful experiences in his past as a slave, and whose mother stayed behind as a slave while he was freed. They should have known better than to try and have him trained and treated like just another Force-sensitive child, and should instead have paid close attention to who Anakin was, what made him tick, and should have helped him through the struggles he'd have to face because of his background.
Obi-wan, of course, wasn't equipped to handle those... But Qui-Gon was up to that task, where no other Jedi might have been, and it is one of the two tragedies of the Phantom Menace that he didn't live to train and raise Anakin in the way he needed. Instead, Anakin was taught not to crave affirmation as a general rule, but the personal reasons why he craved it to begin with were never adressed, and he was just expected to behave like no child with his background could have. It was all too easy for Palpatine to prey on that...

The Jedi Order by the time of the prequel trilogy is sort of a far cry from what they used to be thousands of years ago. After they believed the Sith to have been wiped out, the Jedi Order started changing for the worse.
ofc, I'm not saying Old Republic Jedi would crave affirmation like Anakin does, just that it wasn't outright forbidden or thought of as a path towards the Dark Side. I genuinely think if the Jedi Order was as they were in the Old Republic era that not only would Palpatine have a harder time, but Anakin would be more accepted and harder to turn.

"You turned her against me!" And "You will not take her from me!" Can both be referring to obi-wan telling padme about his dark deeds. The conversation between anakin and padme before these lines reinforces this. Anakin learns that obi-wan told padme about what he did and anakin, being borderline insane right now, tries to convince her that obi-wan is lying. This fails, and from anakins perspective obi-wan, the person who told padme these things, turned padme against him.
The scene flows just fine. There is nothing jarring about it. The truth is, is that everyone in this comment section saying that these deleted scenes make his turn make more sense obviously don't have the faintest clue about anakin as a character. Any screentime with Anaking in AOTC just had him either act irritated with obi-wan, force chemistry with Padme, and violently murder women and children.
In ROTS, they literally back pedal with Anakin and Obiwan talking about previous adventures we never saw, having saved each other's lives, and that one scene in the beginning when Anakin chooses to go help the other starfighters - all to quickly establish that he's a good guy after ATOC made him look like an unlikable psychopath, and TPM had almost zero development.

You can hear yourself breathing. It comes hard, and harsh, and it scrapes nerves already raw, but you cannot stop it. You can never stop it. You cannot even slow it down.
You don’t even have lungs anymore.
Mechanisms hardwired into your chest breathe for you. They will pump oxygen into your bloodstream forever.
Lord Vader? Lord Vader, can you hear me?
And you can’t, not in the way you once did. Sensors in the shell that prisons your head trickle meaning directly into your brain.
You open your scorched-pale eyes; optical sensors integrate light and shadow into a hideous simulacrum of the world around you.
Or perhaps the simulacrum is perfect, and it is the world that is hideous.
Padme? Are you here? Are you all right? you try to say, but another voice speaks for you, out from the vocabulator that serves you for burned-away lips and tongue and throat.
Padme? Are you here? Are you all right?
I’m very sorry, Lord Vader. I’m afraid she died. It seems in your anger, you killed her.
This burns hotter than the lava had.
      No…no, it is not possible!
You love her. You have always loved her. You could never will her death.
      Never.
      But you remember…
      You remember all of it.
You remember the dragon that you brought Vader forth from your heart to slay. You remember the cold venom in Vader’s blood. You remember the furnace of Vader’s fury, and the black hatred of seizing her throat to silence her lying mouth…
And there is one blazing moment in which you finally understand that there was no dragon. That there was no Vader. That there was only you. Only Anakin Skywalker.
That it was all you. Is you.
      Only you.
      You did it.
      You killed her.
You killed her because, finally, when you could have saved her, when you could have gone away with her, when you could have been thinking about her, you were thinking about yourself…
It is in this blazing moment that you finally understand the trap of the dark side, the final cruelty of the Sith -
Because now yourself is all you will ever have.
And you rage and scream and reach through the Force to crush the shadow who has destroyed you, but you are so far less now than what you were. You are more than half machine, you are like a painter gone blind, a composer gone deaf, you can remember where the power was but the power you can touch is only a memory, and so with all your world-destroying fury it is only droids around you that implode, and equipment, and the table on which you were strapped shatters, and in the end, you cannot touch the shadow.
In the end, you do not even want to.
In the end, the shadow is all you have left.
Because the shadow understands you, the shadow forgives you, the shadow gathers you unto itself-
And within your furnace heart, you burn in your own flame.
This is how it feels to be Anakin Skywalker.
Forever… I feel like he's fall is flushed out if you look at the context of all 3 movies he wants to save padme but he also wants power as you see in the end he realizes what he's done but theres nothing he can do he really cant go back now. He's more machine than man he lost obi wan padme the jedi order the republic everything he's ever known all he has left is palpatine and that's why he's such a tragic figure. if you want to listen to the novelizations for the movies their is a website I can recommend to you they have a lot of the star wars audiobooks I recommend you listen to phantom menace then go to ygk audiobooks and listen to rogue planet the jedi quest books jedi apprentice special edition 1 and 2 the jedi quest books are not done tho they've only uploaded 5 their is still 6 more missing if you want to understand anakins life while at the jedi temple but you could just listen to the novelization then listen to the approaching storm it's referenced in the movie and a lot in attack of the clones novelization labrinth of evil is a prequel to revenge of the sith novelization and the rise of darth vader is a sequal to the revenge of the sith novelization it might seem like a lot and it is but you can just listen to it throughout the day on a walk or jsut laying in bed but these books show you a greater understanding of anakin I can't stress enough of how much a master piece the revenge of the sith novelization is Im sorry ranting I know this is already long if you want the name to the website just ask and Ill give it you you

It doesn't work for me to be honest. Obi-Wan and Anakin have been away fighting the Clone Wars so when is this affair supposed to have happened? Also such relationships are banned by the Order, as Anakin knows only too well, so why would he believe Obi-Wan, the consummate Jedi, would break that rule let alone with Padme?
A much better explanation for Anakin's behaviour is given in the novel. In that book after hearing the story of Plagueis and how he could stop death Anakin is led to believe that Dark Side knowledge is in the Jedi vault. There's just one problem. Only Jedi Masters who sit on the Council are allowed access to such knowledge. When Palpatine gets him a seat on the Council he's almost euphoric with hope. When the Council then denies him the rank of Master he's shocked and angry as he sees the chance to save Padme ripped away from him. Instead of petulance as it seems in the movie, he's simply reacting out of abject despair. And it gives him another reason to think well of Palpatine, who put him on the Council, and ill of the Jedi who denied him the rank he needed. In Anakin's mind it also means Palpatine is now his only hope of acquiring the knowledge to save his wife.

@@jjc5407 ”Obi-Wan and Anakin have been away fighting the Clone Wars so when is this affair supposed to have happened?” I mean, applying the same logic, the same could also be said about Anakin and Padmé’s relationship throughout the Clone Wars, as well as her pregnancy. It’s not like Anakin and Obi-Wan were out and about the entire time throughout the Clone Wars. They would frequently report back to Coruscant. And Anakin and Obi-Wan weren’t together 100% of the time. Sometimes Anakin would be leading a battle in one place while Obi-Wan was somewhere else and vice versa. Plenty of time for an affair to take place.
As for why Anakin would believe Obi-Wan would break the rule, it’s been established in the Clone Wars show that Obi-Wan had a past lover (Satine, Duchess of Mandalore) who he straight up tells in one of the episodes that if she had agreed to fully be with him in the past, he would’ve left the Jedi Order to be with her. Now Anakin didn’t hear that interaction but from what I remember, it’s heavily implied that he understands at least to some degree that him and Satine had some kind of semi-romantic relationship in the past
Don’t get me wrong, I do wish the part about the knowledge in the Jedi archives was brought up in the movie as well. But the subplot about Palpatine manipulating Anakin into believing Obi-Wan is having an affair with Padmé definitely should’ve been included as well and makes his hatred of Obi-Wan make a lot more sense other than just all of a sudden

Anakin goes from being a bratty teenager that was not allowed on the council, to a decorated and well established war hero that was denied something that was deservedly his.

To be honest ever since i got the DVD of Revenge of the Sith in 2005 and rewatched it a few times I have had a theroy that all the visions of Padme's death except the last one where Obi-Wan was with Padme when she died were fake visions Palpatine showed Anakin to make him turn to the dark side in order to save her. Otherwise his years in the making plan is too dependant on Anakin having to worry about Padme dying. Palpatine knew he had some influence on Anakin because he was a sort of listening ear and mentor over the years. And he got Anakin to compromise Jedi values by taking revenge on a disarmed Dooku. Add to that his frustration with the Jedi Council not making him a Master after many great accomplishments and Master Windu in particular repeatedly showing open distrust of Anakin. However I do not think all that alone would be enough to fully drive Anakin into becoming a Sith because he would worry about Padme hating him. You can see he can not even bring himself to tell Padme what he did after obeying Palpatine's order to attack the Jedi Temple and spare no one and that Anakin instead makes up a half true story about Master Windu attempting to kill Palpatine and implying Obi-Wan and others may remain safe if they have maintained loyalty to the Chancelor so we see how much Anakin cares about how Padme thinks of him even when he has gone past the line into the dark side... So I think the fake visions idea makes a lot of sense and these deleted scenes further show how far Palpatine had been going to manipulate Anakin as well!

Imagine a system that have Anakin as emperor , Padme as empress and governing operator for senate , And a new jedi master and imperial knight as obi wan . Even with all his flaws obi wan would make much more better job than Yoda . He would be great jedi grand master compared to Yoda .
Besides even without Palpatine , the war would happen because how badly corrupted republic and jedi is . Separatists forceses born from republic's and jedi corruption .
So in the empire of Anakin , there will be indeed peace , justice and security would exist . Thanks to obi wan for being a blind follower of republic instead of the force .

There are so many bits and pieces in the novelization that just aren’t in the movie; Anakin is torn almost from the very beginning. It depicts Palpatine as the master manipulator that he is, and Anakin as the confused, scarred boy that he really is. Like you said- Ani was utterly exhausted, and he did what he thought he had to do to save the people he loved.

The exhaustion aspect is one that I really appreciated and it too comes via the hands of Palpatine. It's a very subtle thing that many overlook but it is also absolutely critical to his fall. Palpatine kept him in constant motion, in a constant spotlight, deprived of rest and the presence/proximity of those he loved. Having had led his life under these conditions for months before coming home at the crescendo of Palpatine's plan, ie days before the fall of the Jedi ...... Anakin simply could not catch his breath or think clearly. It's brilliant because these are all textbook things one does in psy ops/brainwashing. As much as the obvious manipulations, this piece sealed the deal for Sidious.

You are right, and you can certainly see this theme throughout the novelization. I'm about halfway through the "Brotherhood" novel, and though it doesn't hold a candle to ROTS, Palplatine's manipulation of Anakin is present in it as well. Palp made sure that Anakin never even had the opportunity to question the Chancellor's motives or virtues. I truly don't think that the young Jedi ever saw it coming until the very end of the tragic storyline; even when Palpatine ordered him to kill Count Dooku, it seemed like Anakin couldn't fathom that his idol would ever ask him to do something wrong. Surely, the issue must lie in his own thinking.

It's why he didn't leave him to die on Mustafar, and why he put up with his sulking and pining for Padme for so long. Any other Sith lord would have killed Vader, or at least genuinely tried to.

Clearly forgetting anakin is the chosen one
      Aka darth plagues
" kind of son" meaning Palpatine knew even crippled he still had the potential to be the strongest there ever was

Palpatine is wise enough to understand the boundaries of trust and sabotage. He aimed to build trust with Anakin while sabotaging Anakin’s trust in those who were truly there for him, Palatine pitted Anakin against himself and pitted Anakin against everyone who wanted the best for him.
Palpatine truly understood that Anakin was emotionally ignorant and emotionally codependent, he knew that Anakin was easily attached to people and that Anakin had serious self worth issues when held at such high expectations but always falling short of being “the chosen one”
He knew Anakin was under allot of pressure and he was traumatized…
    Palpatine exploited that weakness.
Knowing that the more trust issues Anakin would develop for himself and everyone else…
The more he would become drawn to the dark side of the force….
In a desperate search for power and control.
He truly understood the roots of what it truly meant to be a Sith.
Masquerading as an innocent old man with the best interest of everyone at heart….
Knowing that the quest for absolutes, power, and control is based on a foundation of fear and distrust….
Ultimately leading to a downward spiral of negative emotions and paranoia….
He understood human psychology to a point that he knew how to convert Anakin into Darth Vader.
    Palpatine puppeteered everything.
He probably sent those sand people to kill his mother…
He used the force to use Padme as a human sacrifice in order to save Anakin’s burned up body.
He deliberately sent Anakin to Mustafar knowing that Obi Wan was going to ultimately leave him for dead.
Palpatine could probe Anakin’s dreams giving him visions of pain loss and suffering like he did to what’s his face in the force awakens. Darth Vader Wannabe…
    Kylo REN…
    You have to remember…
Palpatine was so enforced with the dark side…
That he knew the ins and outs of everything and everyone enough to understand how to take full and complete control.
He even understood how to emotionally detach himself from morality so that he could shamelessly deceive people without even losing a wink of sleep.
Palpatine is a starwars depiction of the devil himself.
An accuser, a liar, a trader, a dictator, a subtle snake and absolute manipulator, a cowardice man who fought only for power, glory, control, and dominance…
And people who do these sorts of things…
    Are consumed with fear.
And they trust nobody but themselves…
And they destroy anybody who gets in their way…
    Total God Complex.

Best comment ever . When I try to explain how big a threat Palpatine is . And how Anakin never stood a chance against his manipulations or have any choice , people will say He has a choice and everything his mistake . When Palpatine get him in his sigh he was only 9 an ex-slave , ripped away from his mother , in a foreign place and inside a society who rejects him . But people still insist Anakin has a choice . The only reason why Luke win because he didn't have enough time to manipulate him . And Anakin protected Luke from the emperor otherwise even hell gets frozen there is no way Luke will win . But people still undermine Palpatine like he can be defeated just like that . Even with the fight against Windu , (Windu can have upper hand when comes to dueling but let's get real a sith never plays fair , Palpatine probably have second plan if things go south . Besides his immediate lost after Anakin's arrival and him Electro shoking himself it was all a manipulation . ) So yes Palpatine is the most dangerous thing in Star wars . He can literally convince someone to s*uici*de themselves just by talking . Just because he didn't fight or have great action scenes , mistaking him for weak is really ridiculous. There is even people who says VADER was the most evil . And I was like WHAT ???
Compared to emperor , Vader would look like an angel .

      @@yagzguven8099 Very perceptive,
In order to manipulate someone to destroy themselves…
You have to set that person completely up against themselves and everybody against that person and truly isolate that person into thinking they are unloved because they aren’t good enough, the person would have to be religiously, spiritually, psychologically, verbally, emotionally, physically, financially, and sexually abused…. Until this person loses all hope and enthusiasm for life….
It takes allot of trauma to force someone to end their lives….
The person would have to feel so untrusting, so helplesss, overwhelmed, self concerned, and threatened, full of negative emotions, completely starved of compassion and a positive relationship, and damaged beyond repair…
      Most people who commit suicide…
      Suffer from ptsd….
It usually isn’t until a few decades later that the post trauma is so overwhelming that the victim loses all hope….
When they feel like their life is nothing but the worlds loss and broken dream and it’s all their fault and they brought everything on themselves…
They get to a point of toxic self preservation and coping mechanisms…
But they feel like ultimate failures in life.
      When all hope is gone…
They lose all trust and they just want to end the suffering…
That mind set is a very very dark and cruel mind set….
Depending on how strong that persons will to live….
Will determine their chances of recovery…
I watched someone crumble and die like that…
      It was a hard loss.
