I was watching an episode of QI one day and one of the questions was, "what is Australia's deadliest creature?" One of the comedians (an Aussie) answered Rupert Murdoch 😂
Fact for the redback spider. They used to live only in Victoria before Australia got settlements around the country. Because of the ports dottered around the country so did the redbacks as they traveled with the cargo. So now the redback is all over Australia.
I remember when living in Dubbo we discovered we had a redback behind the toilet with a couple of egg sacs so I re-located it to the local park away from the play ground only to realize our yard was full of them. I'm in Northern rivers now with lots of rainforest and ticks and snakes. Trouble with these videos is people making them haven't lived the reality and exagerate the hell out of things!
Neal the red back is everywhere they love hot warm places so the car garage is a dangerous place in the house in summer, constant spraying and being very aware that they are there will save you 😅😅
I cant believe crocodiles made it higher on the list than rec backs. Very likely to have a redback spider on your garden furniture & get bit. Much less likely to have to worry about a croc.
I grew up in the Aussie bush. We had a ritual when putting on shoes because of spiders. Shake the shoe upsized down, quick spray of insect killer in the shoe. Wait a couple of minutes. Shake out again. Put socks on hands and check inside shoe. Put shoe on and stand still for a minute to see if feel a bite. Continue with day.
I've said it before but the most dangerous animal in Australia is the adult human female they are vicious vindictive unrelenting in their attacks and will not back away from a fight and I love them for it!
Irukanji & Stone Fish r the ones that scare me cos u just don't c em. I've previously worked on a croc farm & gardening with a high proliferation of funnel webs & brown snakes. Only dodgy encounter has been fr an ant!! It sent me into anaphylaxis & needed hospital treatment for a day & half. Having said that I still spend so much time out bush & in nature, wether FNQ or visiting my old stomping ground in the mountains out of syd. The risks r quite small really & definitely worth it. Don't let ur fears hold u back, it's a wonderful world out there.
I grew up in south east qld,we have a tidal river (logan river and becomes brisbane river). Bull sharks all along there, when i was 14 i was skipping school with some mates and a lone fisherman pulled in a bully about 1.2m long. He wrestled it out and called us kids for help lol. We ended up helping him pin it to the fishing plontoon while he stabbed it thru the head. Good times lol.
That young woman that was attacked whilst wading in the water out from Dunwich on Stradbroke Island, was said to have been attacked by a number of bull sharks, she died from blood loss and shock. Very sad.
1. At the 3 minute mark the narrator says "usually grows up to five inches (about five centimeters) long" ... that's worng, an inch is 2.5 times as big as a centimeter! 5 centimeters is about 2 inches; that's roughly their size; they can often be smaller or occasionally bigger. 2. When I was little I knew an old bloke that got bitten by a redback on the scrotum (in the dark in an outside toilet). He was very ill and was in hospital for about 6 weeks. 3. All these creatures together only kill a handful of people per year. Horses and dogs kill more people than any of these.
Jellyfish are interesting: on the underside of the 'Bell' (the bag part) hangs the 'oral arms' & a mouth - as well as the long tentacles with stinging cells & spiky barbs (the tentacles are utilised like a drift net catching anything passing thru & paralysing it) then the prey is moved up via the tentacles & oral arms to the mouth where it is digested by enzymes in the stomach cavity (much like human digestion) & the waste is expelled also via the mouth. Some jellyfish have multiple mouths (hundreds or thousands) located along the oral arms rather than just having the one. They are carnivorous 'passive feeders' that will eat anything passing by small enough to fit in their mouth eg. prawns, krill, small fish etc.
Oh, by the way mate, i have entered you in a Adventure Camping Tour of Dow Nunda. All expenses and hospital stays covered. Do not bring flip plops as a pair will provided. If you are very lucky, you may see some facinating Crocs, snakes and sea creatures. Best of LUCK mate. Stand by your phone and computer.
At first I asked myself, why so overpowered why so much venomous why unnecessarily deadly Then I remembered they live in Australia the toughest environment ever and a successful hunt can make the difference for them between life and death so they must have venom strong enough that when they catch a prey there is 100% chance they get their dinner or they die and in Australia catching another prey is no easy task
There was a redback on the toilet seat, When I was there last night. I didn't see him in the dark, But I sure did feel his bite. I jumped up high into the air, And when I hit the ground. That crafty redback spider, Was nowhere to be found. I can't lie down, I cant' sit up I don't know what to do. The nurses think it's funny but that's not my point of view. I tell you it's embarrasing and that's to say the least, For I'm too sick to eat a bite, While the spider had a feast. There was a redback on the toilet seat, When I was there last night. I didn't see him in the dark, But I sure did feel his bite. And now I'm here in hospital, A sad and sorry plight. And I curse the redback spider, On the toilet seat last night.
My sister was bitten by a Death Adder while hanging out the washing in her back yard when she lived in Collinsville, North Queensland. She was in hospital for about a week recovering, but she was relatively lucky, because she was bitten on the achilles tendon part of her ankle.
Stonefish are such bastards . You wont see them, it hurts when they get you, then you get lifelong echo pain surges. Aussie comedian Brendon Burns was stung a few years ago in Perth. He has stories about it.
Some of these are very obscure...could have had many more bands from the 80's that were huge here. A few of my personal favorites didn't even make the list while others here are just not that big. It's a confusing list I think for an Australian
We all know you would like to come on a holiday to OZ . If you come in Spring, Summer or Autom & these videos have put you off going for a swim any sandy beach from Brisbane & south your good, no Crocks & no box jellyfish. In 65 years I've only seen redbacks 5 times & Funnel Webs about the same, as for snakes 3 black 2 redbelly black & 1 copper head in the last 22 years, 99:9999% of the time you make noise they will bolt away from you as fast as they can go, just don't make them feel thretond & you will be good 😊
These creatures are rarely in touch with average citizens and people are careful not to annoy or touch them if coming into contact Recently in our district a man was bitten and killed by the snake an eastern brown which he removed from his friend's leg This is pure drama about dangerous animals so compare bears panthers found in USA,scary
Also anyone that thinks they don't have a community of Redbacks living in their front & backyards is in denial & anybody around Sydney & other regions of NSW that don't think Funnel Webs aren't in their yards are mistaken as well. Even with that said we are still stupid enough to go barefoot, well i am..
Tbh, im not even sure if thats the proper photos of our Red Back Spider. Ours are less than 1 inch in size and all the legs are mainly the same length, these pics on this clip have really long legs and some shorter legs. The red on it is more like a thick long teardrop on ours and they are jet black. This one's body is too fat and the legs are too long and the colour is more like a dark brown.
Me: uncle are there any bull shark's in the water here? Yeah heaps just do go swimming in merky water!! Me that's what I was swimming in I couldn't see 1inch in front of me!! Uncle wall you are bloody lucky I wouldn't go doing that again!! Could have led with be careful of the bull shark's. We told him we're going swimming!
Mate your scaring yourself. If you look out, don't muck around in their territory and don't mess with them you are pretty good. For example, on Saturday 26/8/26 a surfer fought off a 4 metre great white shark for 30 second before swimming to shore at Port Macquarie’s Lighthouse beach (NSW).He was in the shark's territory. It's a possibility you are going to get nibbled by them. There is even a club called the "BITE CLUB" for shark attack victims. They have a Facebook page.

Australia actually doesn't have the most venomous creatures in the world. Mexico is first followed by Brazil and Australia is 3rd. And as far as sharks being the apex Predator of the sea. Umm no that's the orca. Love your videos but please try to find one from an Australian not an American. 🇺🇸
Let me break it down for you! Mexico has 80 venomous animals Brazil has 79 and Australia has 66 but, Australia's animals have a more potent venom making it's animals the most dangerous venomous animals in the world! Hence the term "Most Venomous Animals!" It doesn't mean quantity of animals it means quality of their venom to being able to kill people and other animals! Only a few Mexican and Brazilian venomous animals can potentially cause death but more Aussie venomous animals will kill you than theirs!

We Australians have come up with a way to deal with the endless danger of agonising death from one lethal animal or another - alcohol.
