They used to say Australia rode on the sheep’s back. We are producers of very high quality of merino wool.

Dave Allen arrived in the 1970s when it did take 36 hours. Now down to 22 hours. Lot has changed in Australia and how to get here in past 50 years since Dave arrived.

We make fun of the English poms by saying they drink beer warm

Well. They drink their beer warmer since it actually tastes good. If you serve a drink ice cold it loses all it's taste. That's good for a Foster, not for a proper beer.

We don't mind having a go at each other, but sometimes these overseas comedians can stretch the friendship line a bit! Prisoners? But, the Irish are really entitled to be down on England! 🤨 Kill a wiggle! 🥺 Yes picnicking and the park is a real thing! 👍 Dave Allen was always classic brilliance, a terrible Australian accent! 😂

Agree! We can take this piss outta each other but once another country takes the piss outta us then that's where i get the shits. They treat us like we are backward bogans. I remember I used to love watching Daniel Tosh back in the day until he carried on that we Aussie's finally discovered electricity so that's hooked up in our grass huts so we finally learnt that there was other countries in the world coz we never knew that since we were like some lost tribe in the Amazon & had no communication with the rest of the world.... That shit me

If you listen to the audience response to Andrew Schulz carefully, (regarding our indigenous people), you will hear that it wasn't favourable, as what he was saying was very racist.. It certainly made ME feel uncomfortable and I'm a white fulla not a black fulla...
I doubt you would ever hear an Aussie comedian say something similar as it's very inappropriate, hence the reaction from the audience

Yeah, even me, a swede who really have no idea of the boundaries down there reacted to that. I wonder if he would have made the same kind of jokes about african americans back at home... And I assume he is US american since he had no idea what an aboriginal was.

Yeh but he said it how he saw it. We’ve gone woke so anything is labeled racist now.

at the very least he said he knew that he shouldn't talk about aboriginals, although he did take a while to mention that. I wouldn't be surprised if someone approached him afterwards to educate him

Mmmmmhhhhh comments re Australian indigenous having picnics crossed the line. I will laugh at a lot of dodgy stuff but THAT was a step too far. Reverse the audience and make the jokes about black Americans. Just nope. Not funny. With regard to how Australians speak.....response to the English Irish and Scots...... you started it 😄😄
