One thing that CAN make a little difference with this if you’re a small school is if you have pretty bad grades at what they care about, which happens pretty often. Those hard sells to guys with silver or bronze pipelines and all Cs and Ds in their grades still are a grind. On the other hand, I think you can go after and often win a guy like Skaags. Tennessee overpowers you, but if they slack for just a week or two you’ll have em beat and you can probably beat out everybody else around you who is only one pipeline ahead of you. It’s a risk but you can absolute win it a lot.
In general, the CPU will lay off the pedal (to borrow the car analogy) early for most recruits to give you a chance to get almost anyone you chase. Your observations here are great to prioritize who to go after first, and who you can afford to wait on or only throw 10-25 hours at. I’m at the point now when juggling 20-25 recruits at a time is manageable. Nurse as many along until your first round of visits land, and you should be golden from there.
Yup, the big key to top classes is identifying who needs to be in your first wave and who can wait. Then you monitor and if the CPU turns in for a couple guys you were waiting on maybe you back off somebody else you have a big lead with and switch to that guy. At the end of the day the computer basically never ever beats you in a remotely fair fight, the AI is too dumb. You have to make arbitrary rules for yourself to make it more fair (ie, when playing a small school you aren’t allowed to recruit too guys, you aren’t allowed to compete with power 5 schools, etc).
love this bro, I'm with you. also noticing a capability to get out front early as they don't go full blast right away. also though, finding some randomness when it gets down to top 3 the more I test. Schools jumping out front with bad pipelines that don't really make sense. But awesome stuff

Another way to be efficient and save hours when scouting is to look at the playing time grade each recruit gets when you add them to your board. Pair that with offseason training bonuses and you can create a monster team quickly.
Watching your videos has really helped my strategies. Currently in my 4th year. In the second half of the season and have recruited 7 5 stars so far. If everything goes as planned I’ll get two more lol.
This is a great video, so what I'm about to say isn't to pick you apart. I think this method is great for more middle tier programs. I have a 5-star program and I honestly don't have my method down to a science just yet, but my starting board this season was something like 20 5-stars, 10 4-star gems and only 5 regular 4-stars. I ignored pipeline and went after dawgs. I did NOT give a single scholarship. I sort them from 5-star gem, to 5-star down etc. I started with STH on every 5-star gem and most other 5-stars. After week 0, I saw what interest levels I was for each team and adjusted hours based off those results. When someone seems close to a cutoff (top 8, 5 etc) And I'm towards the bottom, I either add hours to boost or if I already have hours on them, I offer a scholarship to jump a few spots. Obviously, this isn't perfect since I mostly ignored pipeline, but I felt my program ratings help a lot. I'm around week 9 now and only lost out on like 3 5-stars, a couple 4-star gems and 3 of the 5 regular 4-stars. I'm in the lead on almost everyone else and had more than half of them commit already. When you know you're in the lead on someone you haven't offered yet, above schools that have offered, you're in a great position to win them if you want to. Pipeline is the only thing that could stop you, but you know you have to schedule a visit ASAP if that's the case. Also, it's nice when you can get out of pipeline guys, because it expands your pipeline over time. As long as you go after out of pipeline guys you stand a chance winning...
I just tried this out in season 1 of a UMiami dynasty and got number 1 recruiting class with 5 5 stars (1 gem), 25 4 stars/4 star transfers (10 gems ), 5 3 stars. But I'm not sure exactly when the best time to use scholarships and visits. Also at what point do you full send with max hours?
@@RoccoSuave my season ended with 15 5-stars and I think 10 4-stars, but most of those were gems. So, I don't have it down perfectly and it's a matter of balancing out your hours (how many you have is obviously a factor). If it's a 5star gem and/or positional need, I send the house ASAP and once top 5, I switch that to hard sell + DM (same amount of hours). After the first week of whatever hours are thrown at each prospect, you adjust accordingly. If 25 hours for 1 guy out you in 1st (especially over other schools that offered scholarships) then it's safe to say you can go lighter on the hours, if needed for someone more important. If I am in first, I never offer a scholarship until in top 3 or maybe top 5, with increased hope/chance of an insta commit. But the guys I did lose this last time all had early visits from the schools they signed to, so that seems extremely valuable. I try not to use the visits until I already have 10+ committed so I have more hours to spread around. To answer your question in the simplest way, I do max hours on 5-star gems from day 1 and if I need a QB. And probably O and D-line because I find them most important.
@@RoccoSuave if you have the hours to spare, a visit if you're not in the lead on someone ASAP is when you should use it. Don't wait for an important game. I've been in the lead on someone who had a visit to another school and my max hours kept me in the lead after their visit. I also have coach abilities upgraded for recruiting, so most positions are between 65-80 hours max.
Started an online dynasty with a friend of mine as Mississippi State. Was stunned to see I could bag four 5-Stars in year one including three that I had no pipeline influence on. Conference def helped but your tips helped me lock them down too. 💪🏾💪🏾
its bc the CPU is horrible at recruiting most of the time. If you want a seriously fun recruiting experience try to get into an online dynasty with 10+ teams the more the better. Im in one with 25 teams and its not unusual to have 10 teams going after a 5 star gem QB or WR. It seriously has everyone on the edge of their seats every week and forces you to make a lot of tough decisions about how you spend your hours. There is nothing like going from 4th to 1st on the week a guy commits who was previously expected to go to an in conference rival. Of course this doesnt come without the inevitable losing a guy you really wanted and have been in first with since the preseason on the last week as well. Its seriously the best part of this game.... and then you get to use those recruits to beat those same players who battled you for them? cmon now it doesnt get better than that.
@@TideV2 that sounds awesome. Alas I’m a dad with one on the way and a full time job so the idea of trying to get 20+ guys to advance a week sounds quite daunting. But imma live vicariously through you young blood! Rumble young man rumble!!
I will say, if you aren’t first and have equal pipeline influence, you may be able to overcome the influence deficit if you are able to allocate more than the base 50 hours on a player. I won a recruiting battle where I had no pipeline influence against a couple schools with level 3-5 tiers and pushing for the recruit all because I was able to allocate 75 hours a week to him.
I think taking these guys off the board depends on what kind of program you have. At a certain point you only want 4 gems and 5 stars in your program so you keep going on these guys until there is no shot.
I'm at that point in my dynasty. It's only 5 stars and 4 star gems. But there are usually a lot of 4 star gems. More than you necessarily want to recruit in a year. So I'll still drop guys throughout the year that I know are out of reach and use those hours to scout other 4 stars and find the gems
@@douglaspurcell7506but what I’ve found is that there are 4 star gems leftover at certain positions like FS, C, etc. Certain positions I feel like go fast, so if you miss out and come back to the well, it may have dried up which makes your initial efforts even more important. Examples: LT, SS, LOLB, LE, etc.
Yeah I'm starting on Year 4 and have had to drop a bunch of 4 start redshirt freshman cause I got too many players. So year 4 only going for the top and then waiting on transfer portal.
Also, losing recruits the week before my visit with them is set and they didn't visit the school yet they ended up signing with is a bit too frequent and annoying af
Excellent breakdown! This video helped me know exactly what i was doing right and wrong!😂 great content, keep it coming and i will definitely support all!
Kinda unrelated, but I’ve noticed a few 5 star recruits having no offers almost half way through the season. Idk if anyone has seen that as well. They weren’t busted gems either, one was a gem.
Something that you left out is the school grades. This has a HUGE impact on how much influence you gain each week. This is how teams like Alabama, Ohio State, and Georgia can have 0 pipeline for a guy then come out of nowhere and go from outside top 8 to 1st in 2-3 weeks even when you have been putting back hours. Its not just because they have a lot of hours to spend but almost everything is A+ so if one or more of the players motivations isnt A+ for you then they will have an advantage. This is also compounded by coach upgrades which if you really want a guy its a requirement to have extra influence and extra hour upgrades.
What sucks is recruiting your ass off spending hours comparing, evaluating and prepping your hour allotment every week to sign back to back #1 classes and having to cut some gems because of the outdated system. Like it made me keep 8 WR so I had to cut a 5 star G and a 4 star corner
I had the same issue then someone made a good comment that look at the development trait any player who is a normal or impact regardless of stars cut them keep only star or elite players eventually you will have a team of elites big difference my defense is a 98 with a 97 offense in a simulation season with Arkansas state that I rebuilded I had 40 interceptions I run 3-3-5
Just happened with me at FSU going after a 5 star QB from Louisiana, leading from beginning max hours every week. Hard sell perfect, visit was scheduled the next week and no matter what I did Ole Miss got him
Thanks for pointing out the pipeline tier for recruiting and thanks for pointing out possible bust/gems early based on the scholarship offers without having to scout and find out... 👊🏿💯
Don't forget once your board is full of targets to go to the my school tab and go down to playing time. sort by position and you can kinda get free scouting on what players are or aren't good enough for your team
@@vongills Thanks for that tip... probably going to that halfway into the season just to prepare myself when it's time to do the transfer portal and so forth
@@adrianbelgrave4123At the start of every new season I will fill my board with all the 5 stars first. Go to My School tab then wrote down who is at least a B and drop all those who are not. Then I scout them. After that, I usually have 20-25 prospects left and I do that to the 4stars and repeat. If the 4 stars aren't a gem, I will discard them -(unless I need the top5 recruiting class for elite recruiter unlocked.) I am however at the point, that if theyre not an A for both 4* and 5* or an A+ Bust, I discard them.

I go mostly recommend, I'm a 4 1/2 star now but If there's like 3-5 5 stars that look to good to pass I'll go for them with no interest and can get like 2 of em
I swear the CPU plays mind games with the user. You'll have a simple hard sell on a guy, leading by a mile, then some school will put like 65-80 hrs on him and knock you to 2nd with their commanding lead. And the minute you dip out, they back off 😂 Definitely RNG mixed in too, but I generally drop the prospect because they theoretically could steal him any moment if they chose to. Haven't tried save scummin but I might have to 😂
@@FendlerYT Oh for sure. Have you noticed that if you go max hours on a guy for long enough (in some situations)the cpu will pull his scholarship? It doesn't happen often but you can basically cruise to a commit at that point.
I think even with a slightly lower pipeline and/or starting interest if the school you are chasing is lower prestige & grades you could catch them with a higher prestige, high grades on the hard sell. Also, if you upgrade the Recruiter path far enough in the coaching tree - I believe there is a better chance at making a comeback with all of the boosts it gives you (Doesn't apply until years into your career)
@@TakeNotesUS way lower odds I think but you’re definitely right about the recruiter path helping you to swing balance in your favor. Certainly don’t mean to say that comebacks are impossible! But they might carry lower odds you know
@@FendlerYT true. It really becomes easier to take chances on some 5 stars after you get your roster stacked to where you only need 18-25 commits a class (year 5+) I made the mistake at first of signing as many as I could 30-35 for 3-4 years then having to cut actual good players 😭
You all should also do these with 2/3 star teams. It’s too easy with big programs, maxed out coaching perks, etc. for newer people, those perks boosts really are the difference.

Dynasty mode is a power creep rpg. By the time you hit year 3 or 4 as long as you are 4 stars and investing it recruiting perks, nobody can touch you in recruiting battles. Some good stuff here in this vid, but would be good to mention that your teams prestige and stuff like that can override a lot of the stuff you are saying. If you can put 75 hours on a recruit AND your schools prestige along with your coaches is A or higher you can easily sway a lot of interest quickly.
Once you get your team to above 3 stars pipelines are mostly irrelevant. I get any player I want and don’t even look at pipelines and my coach isn’t even heavy in recruiting. My biggest issue is I dislike sending players on visits and deciding how many need one, which isn’t most.
@@buddhastl7120 yeah exactly. I just went after the number 1 overall recruit. I wasn’t even in his top 10 at first. All I had to do was offer a scholarship and put 75 hrs on him. But seriously, if you go into the recruiting tree, it seems like almost none of the CPU teams go more than 50 points so if you're offering more than that, you seem to pass a lot of guys and a lot of those teams are sitting on their scholarship for a few weeks so it's real easy to pull leads at the beginning if you go hard on the 10 guys you can afford to go after.
I also am in Year 12 of a UNLV Dynasty, both my coordinators have a Big Apple pipeline so I have to just brute force my recruits and hope to build up a lead. I'm never ahead on pipeline. One thing I'm trying to figure out is when recruits enter a new stage (Like Top 8 to Top 5) it looks like every team gets moved to the bottom of the bar at that stage so if a player goes into their Top 3 and you're 2nd or 3rd, if the team in 1st just barely gets over the Top 3 line, can you just blow past them at the end? It seems like it's happening to me on some recruits that I'm going after hard and the CPU just kinda starts putting full points and visits on them late so I wonder if that's a sneaky way to grab some guys that were high on you initially and then just one team was going after them.
EDIT: 09:45 I didn't notice Tenn's 5 Pipeline Tier. This guy is 100% a bail out situation.

let's go man keep dominating
Hail State!
its bc the CPU is horrible at recruiting most of the time.

@@FendlerYTto continue your analogy. A car crash is when you don’t switch from discovery phase to pitch phase allowing schools to catch up.
I will say, if you aren’t first and have equal pipeline influence, you may be able to overcome the influence deficit if you are able to allocate more than the base 50 hours on a player.
I won a recruiting battle where I had no pipeline influence against a couple schools with level 3-5 tiers and pushing for the recruit all because I was able to allocate 75 hours a week to him.
definitely helps to have some of the recruiting branch filled out in battles like that! nice bro
4:10 what a great analogy man I applaud you
I think taking these guys off the board depends on what kind of program you have. At a certain point you only want 4 gems and 5 stars in your program so you keep going on these guys until there is no shot.
I guess, but in a losing effort it's almost not even worth it
I'm at that point in my dynasty.
Kinda unrelated, but I’ve noticed a few 5 star recruits having no offers almost half way through the season. Idk if anyone has seen that as well. They weren’t busted gems either, one was a gem.
supposedly that's supposed to happen less since the patch, especially surprised about the gem one
Ngl I always disregarded those tiers. Excited for my next season. Appreciate the tips!!
hope it helps my man, they play pretty huge
Awesome video! I would’ve liked to see you go all out on those guys and see how right you were in your predictions.
appreciate it man! maybe we will do a follow through video sometime soon
What sucks is recruiting your ass off spending hours comparing, evaluating and prepping your hour allotment every week to sign back to back #1 classes and having to cut some gems because of the outdated system. Like it made me keep 8 WR so I had to cut a 5 star G and a 4 star corner
I hear you
@jtkag set some house rules for yourself.. only replace seniors or and possibly juniors
Right like maybe don’t recruit and get all 8 to commit? Lol
Hard sell perfect, visit was scheduled the next week and no matter what I did Ole Miss got him
That’s that freaky stuff they want in the game lol that’s why I mentioned it here
Thanks for pointing out the pipeline tier for recruiting and thanks for pointing out possible bust/gems early based on the scholarship offers without having to scout and find out... 👊🏿💯
Glad it helped bro! Thanks for watching
If the 4 stars aren't a gem, I will discard them -(unless I need the top5 recruiting class for elite recruiter unlocked.)
I am however at the point, that if theyre not an A for both 4* and 5* or an A+ Bust, I discard them.

I swear the CPU plays mind games with the user. You'll have a simple hard sell on a guy, leading by a mile, then some school will put like 65-80 hrs on him and knock you to 2nd with their commanding lead. And the minute you dip out, they back off 😂
Definitely RNG mixed in too, but I generally drop the prospect because they theoretically could steal him any moment if they chose to.
Haven't tried save scummin but I might have to 😂
especially once you get to the top 3, stuff gets funky
@@TakeNotesUS yeah I think that’s the sweet spot. Maybe like 15-20 and another 5 max transfers or so

One thing I've noticed is that almost every user is pretty much guaranteed to have a successful rebuild because of recruiting abilities and top prospect cheese. I decided to self-impose rules such as recommended only, gems only. Forces me to to scout every single week instead of just grabbing 4 stars 😂 Not the ideal playthrough because you get minimal recruits your first year, but year two should be more successful.

@@FendlerYT Might be the shortest series I've ever had if it's too restrictive.
But it can't be worse than Bordeaux's 1 ⭐ Only rebuild. That would drive me insane. Lol.
Dynasty mode is a power creep rpg. By the time you hit year 3 or 4 as long as you are 4 stars and investing it recruiting perks, nobody can touch you in recruiting battles. Apparently the cpu doesn’t understand redshirting, so if i do that the right way, my team is way too good and i’m cutting 8-15 4 and 5 stars each offseason. It used to to mean something to get a top 10 recruit. Not when you get 5 of the top 10 every year…They just get added to the stockpile. Be better EA.
@@gmoney5772 Navy starts out as a 1.5 ⭐ and I got them to a 2.5 ⭐ one time in about 3 years so slow and steady. My issue is it's very rinse and repeat. Spend two hours a day recruiting, target top prospects, send 50+ hrs until they commit, etc.
That's why I'm trying something new like recommended only, gems only, or 1 archetype per position only. Something to mix it up.
I curious if all of your recruiting tips also work well in multiple user dynasties? I am in a 3 user dynasty including myself and a 12 user dynasty including myself and have been struggling and need tips but not sure if all of your videos work with multiple user dynasties?
Is getting the CEO badge and dream school portion worth the points? I've tried a lot of dynasties and I don't sense much difference in insta commits when I have it compared to not. It also feels like WR is the most likely to insta commit compared to any other position.
Thanks for the great content. It's helped a lot!
Don't think so if you have to pay for it yourself, that's a big part of the reason I've been trying to get it for the free
Unpopular opinion: no. Anyone you’d insta-commit are players you’ll easily recruit anyways. It’s more of a convenience if anything. Yes, you may save some points each week but it’s not worth the vital coaching points.

Other than not being able to schedule visits for some recruits because I've reached my limit for remaining games (unsure what the limit is for a game, but it needs increased) and teams signing players without ever even doing a visit after I've done a visit and have A's for their three ✓'s... recruiting is pretty easy I feel once you get up to a 3-4* program
It’s 4 players apiece
What about when you're leading but the school behind you offered a scholarship with a better pipeline tier in a very close race somtimes. Is there a chance or should just bail out in the beginning of a season?
ahh it's gotta be case by case basis I think man. depends if you can go over on hours too
Some good stuff here in this vid, but would be good to mention that your teams prestige and stuff like that can override a lot of the stuff you are saying.
After week 1 I was already 2nd on his interest. After week 2 I was already number 1 for him.
What also matters is your depth chart . If it’s a position of need and the player can get playtime early, they usually gain hella interest .

Choosing Georgia or bama for dynasty is so dumb lol
Doofus comment. Has nothing to do with the video lol
A touch conservative….
Just trying to minimize waste. Multi week failures are where recruiting classes perish
