Who takes people around to get Aetheryte points as has them follow? Every time I've had/ given help, we party up and get on a 2+ player mount and go around like that, unless showing just one thing. I hope OP can one day find lasting friendships in FF.

I generally don't comment on channels but neither here nor there, these stories are very personal, having similar experiences (Not as a Lalafell) I can say this, there are bad apples in the bunch but not everyone is horrible, and what doesn't kill us makes us stronger, I truly feel the same way at the end in the story when playing with NPC's can be more enjoyable than playing with other people.
But I have been watching many of your drama series Pathra, and many of them have some excellent lessons and enlightenment that each OP shares from their experiences and views.
Keep on doing what you're doing Pathra, this is actually bringing us together to understand each other better and even learn what we can do encountering these situations if at best but as for the OP's POV, it was a series of unfortunate events I hope they are doing better and hopefully they have friends that will be "Actual Real" Friends, since it's not easy that no one knows each other from behind the screen in a video game let alone being online.

This story doesn't pass the smell test for me, honestly. I think there is quite a bit of context missing and it might be that the OP was generally having a difficult time socializing with others and was unable to understand some of the things that were going on. I do believe some of the parts are real, but the FC parts seemed a bit odd and weird, however it could have been a social reason why the op was kicked instead of a gameplay reason.
Also keep up with the stories, I love listening to these, but I often fear that I might hear one that is a little too familiar sounding! Haha!

The part with Bit made me remember a similar experience I had back in GW2 with a guild leader. I left on my own accord since I was tired of being pressured into representing the guild on every character I was logged onto when most of the time I wanted to rep a friend's guild instead. And when I left, I got a similar message of "you were useless and didn't do anything to help" (paraphrased as it has been years, so I forget the whole message itself), despite the fact that most of my ingame money and time went towards that guild and I barely ever had any left to put towards the friend's.
To OP: I definitely wish you luck in finding a less toxic and immature ingame family! Depending on DC/server, I'd be more than willing to hang out with you, be it just running around questing/grinding, roulettes, or anything else c:

I dunno .. this whole thing sounds like a bunch of BS. These stories are all so extreme and weird and having all it happen to the same person. Why would anyone even put up with any of this. Dunno, just feels unreal.

I'm gonna be the drama, and say I think OP was the problem. Or this was all fabricated. I have a hard time believing someone went through this many unfortunate events. It just seems like a lot. But maybe I'm wrong. I know IRL women have a rougher time in mmo's. I'll say it seems sus 🤔

Are these stories real? Definitely possible, XIV has some really unhinged people, but, something seems off. So many night and day attitude/character flips makes me question how the OP actually acted and spoke to others. 🤔

all these stories of unfortunate events is just actual rotten luck. so many good people are in the game and those kind of people just ruin the game for others. i hope OP finds some cooler people to hang out with and it all ends with their husband and friends all in a cool fc so they have fun
I don't know where the people in these stories are found. My worst experience with someone was an undergeared tank who tried to call me out for bad damage because I needed to stop attacking to let him get agro back.

gaw. this hits hard. I have the worst social skills but I do have the sense of whats right and wrong. Because I apparently dont have any expression in my text its always misunderstood as me not caring or something negative and so I know how it feels when people shun you or accuse you of being a dick and then become someone looked down on. online is difficult for me and I know how OP feels, I hardly have any friends on 14, dealt with alot of crazy nonsense such as jealousy of stealing someons boyfriend, not caring enough for someone as a friend (which I do, I just dont express enough? I treat ppl how I want to be treated and I stay away from drama or something that I feel like that I shouldnt put my nose into someone els business) its hard for me to express myself to others that I am just existing and doing what I feel thats fun to do, enjoying the ff14 game but I see it as ppl just want to shut me down from having fun, so I dont bother trying to make any friends on ff14 anymore but just enjoy the game with my Husband and very few chill friends (that I hardly play with).

who is this op... i would 100% add them to my fc and do thing with them... i interview my fc members before they join to make sure they will fit in with the members, my fc is anti drama. i know ppl play games to chill n relax and thats how i plan to keep it

I have a feeling that this was a series of unfortunate events that unraveled over years of playing. Which is why it made the story seem so unreal. I've had my fair share of bad experiences and this is nothing. As for someone living close to you that you meet in a game, that's def possible too! I found a person a who lives 20-30 minutes away. And we don't live in a big or popular city or state. Its actually a rather smaller state. So I was pretty shocked to find out this person basically lives almost right next door. Unfortunately people like Kree do exist. And there's def people out there who have a thing for the lala community. A friend of mine told me to be careful when searching art that people have drawn for the game. There's apparently lewd pictures of all races, including lala. And there are def FC leaders like that! However, I think OP made a point to mention she was autistic in the FC chat. And she was probably made fun of and picked at afterwards. It happens more often than you realize. And they probaly was looking for a reason to boot her after just because they felt she was different. Oh yeah, I heard you asking about "protect us". I think what OP was saying was the healer "kept spamming protect on us". And then the healer blamed the other people in party for dying not realizing protect doesn't heal. Protect was removed in summer on 2019 when Shadowbringers dropped so that also tells ya that OP was going through stuff chronologically that happened to them over years of playing not jus stuff that happened overnight.
Sad to know she had so bad experience. Would love to play with her and be friends with her. So much unnecessary drama O_O

I do understand the auto-follow bit. You're helping someone but also hoping it'll be a social experience but if the other person isn't present it feels like you're being used. HOWEVER if the other person is chatting with you it's okay if it's an auto-follow.

Am I the only one who can’t help but feel this is fake? It’s not impossible, but the second person you meet just HAPPENS to be an hour away from you? And you just decide to go out to dinner with them without really knowing them at all? Then you need a certain dungeon, so you use duty roulette instead of duty finder? And you meet this bad healer you SOMEHOW keep running into in dungeons even though there are literally millions of players to end up with in duty roulette? Then you meet a friend of a friend you know irl just like that? One can be a coincidence, but two is making it sound like you’re writing a small town story in one of the biggest mmos of all time. It’s giving me similar vibes to the ‘my teacher was my ff14 mentor!!’ story
To be fair, at least regarding finding out someone is only an hour away, if they're in a large enough city in say the US, there's a high possibility of meeting someone. And when you do meet some IRL from in-game, it's common to try and forge a RL friendship. For me, it's like finding a damn unicorn when i find someone that plays that is a few provinces away from me, let alone the same town/city haha
I question a lot of these and just treat as entetaing. But this one in particular I HOPE is fake because I don’t want to think a player had to go through this much crap :(
Yup, was thinking the same. Too much going on and people being nasty to OP who has done nothing. Seems really unrealistic, or at least all the people in question, OP included are really young.
I hope it's fake, other wise the OP is not telling the whole story and definently has done some shady stuff. It's just their side and not the full story.
the first FC i joined, 4 of them lived about an hour away from me in NYC and Brooklyn..in my second FC one person was a few hours over in the next state and another in NJ and im in NY...it's absolutely possible.

What mostly makes me doubt it, many descriptions about the game sound very off. Doing Missions? Needing team ups for random quests? Does not sound like the game I know. Had Duty Support not been mentioned I would guess this must've taken place during like 3.0.

I have to say....hearing about all these drama stories...I have to wonder where they all happen as I have yet to encounter anything like it myself. I mean sure, I meet some asshats in groups (which are done and done quickly enough to not be a bother) but not entire FCs of drama or even "friends" I meet. I guess I've just been fortunate. To OP, hell I'll do stuff with you happily. My FC and I do stuff together but I also run solo a lot since they're mostly well into EW content and I'm still running ShB stuff

It's the same thing as "DnD Horror Stories" They're shockingly infrequant. But because the reddits and such narrow in on these stories. They SEEM way more common then they actually are.
Because these abusers predators seek out vulnerable akward desperate shy people, its the same in real life. If they had backbones and taking no bs like yourself they wouldn't have let themselves get this far into drama. Some people are just not smart experience enough to pick up on the red flags

It's pretty common, more than likely you have no weird encounters is because you found your cliche and stay there. I been in many groups and move around from place to place and I see still like this all the time.

My DC has a lot of rotton apples but also very amazing ones aswell. I have never had a bad experience in Newcomer chat if you ever need advice on where to find stuff or need help with... I personally hate giant spiders and I had a meltdown doing my warrior quest cuz it required you to go in the desert and fight a few of those.. I couldnt even look at my screen and died. I asked in the newcomer chat if ppl could help me and I had like 5 ppl coming over immediatly. they carried my ass to the destination, blocking my entire screen with their 2 seater dragon mounts fighting the spooders for me.. I have so many more good memories of amazing ppl and I hope OP meets ppl like this too

I've never had this many people made at me in the game. I think OP is leaving out a lot of information and might be the problem.
This may be difficult to understand for some but getting a house is not that difficult. You can be a complete new player, all you need is IRL money and choose a server where housing have some empty small spots. You just need to buy 6 job books from the mog shop which each give 500k gold, and you should have a base 300k for buying the actual building on the spot. Besides this, the most difficult part is to level up your grand company status, because if i remember well, you need to be above a certain level to get a house. Thats all basically.
