Same, I mean gosh, I came from WoW, specifically the most...um...suggestive server and inn, and even the majority of them were super nice, I just talked to them about my guinea pig. Promiscuous people can be super nice, but you just need to know what red flags to look for, and sometimes people don't show their true colors until it's too late, and that is scary.
I honest to god hate people who make being a lalafell weird so much, I literally just like playing small races in games as tanks - the fantasy of being a tiny halfling type character overcoming enemies that are 10x their size is so awesome to me. Its such a shame the freaks ruin it and make people assume things about you. I truly despise it

Ey a fellow player that gets why playing a small guy is so awesome! I play small races for the same exact reason. It's both hilarious and amazing to see someone small do the impossible. With that said, yeah it's just weird how some people go about it. I usually just ignore it and keep it moving, but this story was quite disturbing.

Now I feel lucky knowing the most extreme RP I've seen is a lalafell black mage who just stood in the corner of the room during every fight of a dungeon telling us to kill for her. No one spoke to her, we just finished the dungeon and fled the scene.

I think I can understand Kito's thought process. Its hard to explain but its like how a lot of criminals would tell children to never follow their path, just study hard and lead a decent life despite them being; for the lack of a better term; fucked up. They still have some measure of morals and refuses to rope innocents in to their dark world. On a side note - for fellow Lala players. Do be careful when you out and about on venues. If people are telling you to be careful about a certain place or people, there is a reason and my personal advice is to just stay the fuck away; regardless if they can provide proof or just made it up. 1000% fake. Entertaining, but there's no way the story is as it actually happened, if this is even based on real events. I can vouch for the existence of clubs and circles with really dark niche fetishes, but this story is just waaay too out there to believe without the conveniently deleted evidence.
This story has a lot of things in it that give it credibility, IMO. OP is vulnerable mentally and gets love bombed and groomed by players to gain his trust. Once they have that, it's easy to manipulate him into doing things he wouldn't otherwise do. The Kito guy is also believable. I've seen many drug addicts that will go out of their way to try and prevent new people from getting addicted like they are cause they see the mess their life is. It's true that this is on the web and people can say anything. But given the things I've delt with in MMOs, I have little reason to believe OP is lying.

Old vid but felt compelled to post minus the few replies. I'm a long time vet of ff14, have 3 years of rp under my belt and have mained female lalafell, au ra and male miqo'te. first a foremost... as a long time rper who did rp on crystal and aether... Clubs are not scene as "serious" RP venues. They are largely "for profit" places run by people, or an fc to have as a hang out. they largely sprang up during covid, but have since taken over the RP scene. There are some that do focus on RP, and simply wish to give good experiences. If you wish to see a better idea of RP do not go to a club but a venue with RP as a focus, like a Cafe or tavern. A lot of these places tend to be hang out for people to RP at, met other Rp'er and craft organic RP stories. Most places that do have ERP have a lot of guidelines that highlight consent being a big deal and take seriously. If you go to a venues and someone tries to be flirty, or entice you to erp.. say no if you are not interested, they may back off. If not report... it to venue staff, and they will help you as harassment is taken seriously. can stuff slip through the cracks? yes... i myself have had negative experiences.. but i avoid those places, and block those people. One thing i do not personally like, is the discrimination against lalafells, they are an adult race.. and should be treated as such. This is very much an asian/japanese game so they tend to have more cuter looking small characters, and alt fashion like goth-loli... but that does not make them kids. I wasn't a fan of my rp limited due to me being a lalafell, and felt compelled to fanta/name change just to experience unlimited RP. I largely got into RP as i was introduced into a game of DnD and use RP to help me "talk in character" while playing. I had a blast minus some horror stories. It bugs me when people criticize other for what race they place as.. and feel it stunts RP a bit for some. As for those ppl who do rp as kids with their lalafell? as long as it's with in the ToS and their not troling with it, who cares... I've seen some pretty heartwarming and whole rp by people who do this. They wanted to create a family narrative and simply have wholesome fun to places. Why ruin that? RP can be a fun activity to give your mind a creative outlet and do other stuff then grind tomes daily, you can meet and make great friends through it as well. I know i have made some good friend through my time, my oldest one being my "bro" who has been with me for 3 years. he is fickle so may not always chat, or always online.. but we there for each other when it counts most. So if ya can try not to admonish the entire rp community over bad actors.. most of us in the community call these guys out, and kep tabs with each other so our venues stay safe. Just avoid the bad actor venues... the moment you notice And report as needed. GM and SE do take harassment seriously.
I honestly dislike the club scene. I run a bar & lounge myself on Mateus, we dont allow erp at all. Flirting, fine, but if someone goes to far, or someone is uncomfertable, we'll try to manage it privatly, or have the offender removed (which i havnt had to yet thank the 12) and ive seen places that specificly ban lalafell for being child-like, and i cant wrap my head as to why. I gotta compete with these clubs that iffer erp, i dont really know how well they do but the Galbadia has ups and downs. Me and my characters treat lalafell like adults and seriously, despite me encountering more lalagremlin than serious lalafell. I allow lalafell like i allow everyone else (even the semi-rpers that dont do quotes when their characters talk). My freind would play as a lala and get kicked out of even normal restraunts, so i make it a point to welcome Lalafell like i would anyone else

sadly sex sells, and the clubs pretty much take over the RP scene. its rare to see sfw rp places now as they get drown out by clubs. Most the community is 18+ very rare to see 17.
A lot of these terminally online people actually have small businesses or are into crypto/stocks and they pay their bills all by working from home. When I was playing FFXIV my faction leader and his wife made sex toys, cosplay components, and minis for money.

@10:48 what Warhead-228 says can't be true enough. Been in a FC that has been a mix of RP/ERP and non RP/ERP. More often than not the RP/ERP people brought around the strangest of drama. Still remember one time when doing EX fights to get mounts where we were all chatting and a new RP fling of one was with us. We were suddenly talking about a mechanic of the fight and one of us said 'It's a trap!.' This RP fling went off the deep end saying 'Don't say that, I don't like that word.' We all stopped and finally one said 'What are you talking about?' They continued saying 'Just don't say that word, it is hurtful.' Finally I had to ask 'What word? You mean it's a trap? The mechanic is a trap.' The person got super offended and dropped out of the call then left the party. We found out later they were a female that RP/ERP'd a male in disguise. The half of us that weren't into the RP/ERP scene all said about the same thing 'You can't be serious?' "Talking about a literal trap mechanic triggered them as if we were calling a person a trap?' "I'm not apologizing, that is dumb since it is two totally different contexts. Either they can understand that or we just won't help on the other fights.' Needless to say, we continued on with the other fights without them around. Slowly most of us left the FC since the RP/ERP member that brought the extra in was the lead and it had made the whole thing awkward to say the least after. Anymore I simply avoid RPers because they more often than not tend to have something wrong. Edit: After listening the whole thing, have to say this person certain ended up on the weird side of FFXIV, even for the RP/ERP side of things. Doesn't change my mind that they all have certain issues at times. Yes, some can be perfectly fine. However, the kind in this story is the reason why you hear about Yoshi P not endorsing any kind of mods - period. Making depraved, mean spirited, or even age-play has made it such a headache. This coming from someone who used to make mods for FFXI, I can only imagine how much worse the ones on FFXIV can be and why I never even looked into it when the FC I mention above tried to lure me into it. Just told them it wasn't my cup of tea, too old for the drama, and only did game related things with them until eventually leaving like other non-rp members did. Also, as someone who uses SecondLife, at least there you always know what someone else is seeing or looks like since everything about that is handled server side rather than client side like FFXIV. No need to worry that you're just standing there while on the other persons screen they are doing and seeing god knows what on their end.

So thhis Kito guy honestly remind me of some folk i know in the kink scene. Folk who are into the more agressive and bloody stuff (knife play and consentual mutilation) Most of the ones i knew were overdramatic campy edge lords. Because well, you're gonna tie up, cut on & even set folk on fire. And both of you are going yo enjoy it. Theres mental rubber banding you have to be able to do to be in the scene despite hours & days of prep before hand, knowing where the energency kits are & constantly checking in with your partner through the screams. (Verbally and non) Theres a self serious camp that come with that. And those ive known in those scenes are exceptionally protective of new kinksters . Constant warnings and examples of bad actors and tell tell signs a scene mighr be turning into SA. And make no doubrtthats what OP went through. They desperately want you to be into the same things, but understand that it could fuck you up if its not your kink. That said none of the ones i knew would ever associate with pedos, or hold space for dangerous folk. Being a friend to a predator makes you their mask. Some one else who trust you will trust them by association. That said i don't know what it is but while ive only ever had one bad time irl in digital spaces it was almost a given. And the more niche your intrest the harder it was to find safe places to induldge. I get why some would be tempted to turn a blind eye to the rotting corners of a place. Because if you didn't you'd be a a homeless pariah. Kito even tied his finace to these roten folk. Still, not forgiveable. I hope they've grown and seperated from such shite folk. So at 4:30 the reason RP venues ban lalas is because it tends to go down a dark path it's actually quite common for lalas to be banned from venues at least on the servers I've been to. Also seen some comments about having to be 18 to get into a guild that should be a red flag for those guilds that it might not be a rated E group. Also while yes leather is a type of gear it's also a kink for those who don't kno so plz maybe double check before walking into RP settings that it's what you think it it 😅

As someone who also RP's on Conan sometimes. These are KINK places. And there is MUCH worse done there then what she just read.. I don't associate myself with that stuff but made the mistake of joining a random server once and.. god. Yeah no. I wish it was something I could unsee.
I did some shifts as a bouncer/manager for FFXIV clubs. The entire business models of all these places is gil for ERP while the venue takes a cut of earnings.

this story is so bad and horrifying. i have a couple lala friends i run maps with in game on a daily basis and its sad to hear how many of the lala's get treated this way even in an rp setting i always treat people with respect. i wont lie i call lala's little ones since they are shorter than my bun girl, but i have not ever treated them like kids unless it is part of their backstory. i also know a lala who does extremely well designed houses. i really feel bad that not just lala's but other first time venue goers experience this. as a greeter manager i make sure new venue goers are comfortable, enjoy their time, and are aware of the things involved when attending a venue. This is very sad to me as someone who enjoys venues.
funny thing is that you can recover files that you've completely deleted with a certain software you'll have to pay for it but in the end you can get that evidence back its never deleted and always will be their even if you completely wipe the pc its still their.

thankfully i only use mods with my bestie to be cute together and not weirdos allowed we dont even rp we just play and SLAYYYY but before knowing about mods i remember one time i died from cringe form seeing a female lalafell with really blue eye shadow black lipsticks, black boots and the swimsuit/dress from the first moon fire festival in black in the middle of limsa lominsa and I just had to blacklist that person DISGUSTING.

I am familiar with ERP (mostly out of FF but in FF very rarely) and for the second story i was with the chick till she was all "awwww it's alright if you are minor" simply because if you take the matter seriously of not wanting to ERP with minors you have to get a little weird because if you ask blatantly they will just lie, let's face it, if we got into that as horny minors most of us would too. That whole kloe thing was weird tho.

Only early in the video but OP is not fully blameless for the start, and neither are OPs friends. They CHOSE to take a freshly 18yo person (OP) to a (seemingly) kink-friendly venue with a CLEAR 18+ theme to incite drama, then they're shocked when someone flirts with them after they go along with it and encourage it at first? I have four characters in game, with my now main being a male miqo'te, and I've had other people who play as male miqo'tes aggressively hit on me 😑 but when I don't reciprocate, they get offended, and I'm just like (?) Shit like this is why I only roleplay with friends these days and rarely ever put the RP tag on. If I go to a venue, I always bring at least one with me. I swear many of the players in this game should be on a list, and this horror story has made me even more cautious.

Promiscuous people can be super nice, but you just need to know what red flags to look for, and sometimes people don't show their true colors until it's too late, and that is scary.
I honest to god hate people who make being a lalafell weird so much, I literally just like playing small races in games as tanks - the fantasy of being a tiny halfling type character overcoming enemies that are 10x their size is so awesome to me. Its such a shame the freaks ruin it and make people assume things about you. I truly despise it

Ey a fellow player that gets why playing a small guy is so awesome! I play small races for the same exact reason. It's both hilarious and amazing to see someone small do the impossible. With that said, yeah it's just weird how some people go about it. I usually just ignore it and keep it moving, but this story was quite disturbing.

I think I can understand Kito's thought process. Its hard to explain but its like how a lot of criminals would tell children to never follow their path, just study hard and lead a decent life despite them being; for the lack of a better term; fucked up. If people are telling you to be careful about a certain place or people, there is a reason and my personal advice is to just stay the fuck away; regardless if they can provide proof or just made it up. This story has a lot of things in it that give it credibility, IMO. OP is vulnerable mentally and gets love bombed and groomed by players to gain his trust. Once they have that, it's easy to manipulate him into doing things he wouldn't otherwise do. The Kito guy is also believable. I've seen many drug addicts that will go out of their way to try and prevent new people from getting addicted like they are cause they see the mess their life is. It's true that this is on the web and people can say anything. But given the things I've delt with in MMOs, I have little reason to believe OP is lying.

Though I understand trying to test the waters of RP, but ERP in this game is the worst way to start. Someone should have guided the Lala to try out regular Bars/Taverns or Fight Venues, any venue that is more on the SFW side and leveled out with people in a normal way, not lewded.

I'm a long time vet of ff14, have 3 years of rp under my belt and have mained female lalafell, au ra and male miqo'te.
first a foremost... as a long time rper who did rp on crystal and aether... Clubs are not scene as "serious" RP venues. They are largely "for profit" places run by people, or an fc to have as a hang out. they largely sprang up during covid, but have since taken over the RP scene. There are some that do focus on RP, and simply wish to give good experiences. If you wish to see a better idea of RP do not go to a club but a venue with RP as a focus, like a Cafe or tavern. A lot of these places tend to be hang out for people to RP at, met other Rp'er and craft organic RP stories.
Most places that do have ERP have a lot of guidelines that highlight consent being a big deal and take seriously. If you go to a venues and someone tries to be flirty, or entice you to erp.. say no if you are not interested, they may back off. If not report... it to venue staff, and they will help you as harassment is taken seriously. can stuff slip through the cracks? yes... i myself have had negative experiences.. but i avoid those places, and block those people.
One thing i do not personally like, is the discrimination against lalafells, they are an adult race.. and should be treated as such. This is very much an asian/japanese game so they tend to have more cuter looking small characters, and alt fashion like goth-loli... but that does not make them kids. I wasn't a fan of my rp limited due to me being a lalafell, and felt compelled to fanta/name change just to experience unlimited RP. I largely got into RP as i was introduced into a game of DnD and use RP to help me "talk in character" while playing. I had a blast minus some horror stories. It bugs me when people criticize other for what race they place as.. and feel it stunts RP a bit for some.
As for those ppl who do rp as kids with their lalafell? as long as it's with in the ToS and their not troling with it, who cares... I've seen some pretty heartwarming and whole rp by people who do this. They wanted to create a family narrative and simply have wholesome fun to places. Why ruin that?
RP can be a fun activity to give your mind a creative outlet and do other stuff then grind tomes daily, you can meet and make great friends through it as well. I know i have made some good friend through my time, my oldest one being my "bro" who has been with me for 3 years. he is fickle so may not always chat, or always online.. but we there for each other when it counts most. So if ya can try not to admonish the entire rp community over bad actors.. most of us in the community call these guys out, and kep tabs with each other so our venues stay safe. Just avoid the bad actor venues... the moment you notice And report as needed. GM and SE do take harassment seriously.
I honestly dislike the club scene. I run a bar & lounge myself on Mateus, we dont allow erp at all. Flirting, fine, but if someone goes to far, or someone is uncomfertable, we'll try to manage it privatly, or have the offender removed (which i havnt had to yet thank the 12) and ive seen places that specificly ban lalafell for being child-like, and i cant wrap my head as to why.
I gotta compete with these clubs that iffer erp, i dont really know how well they do but the Galbadia has ups and downs. Me and my characters treat lalafell like adults and seriously, despite me encountering more lalagremlin than serious lalafell. I allow lalafell like i allow everyone else (even the semi-rpers that dont do quotes when their characters talk). My freind would play as a lala and get kicked out of even normal restraunts, so i make it a point to welcome Lalafell like i would anyone else
Even in lalas are adults there are lolicon/shotacons who sexualise them as kids so i think its a good decision to keep that behaviour out

@10:48 what Warhead-228 says can't be true enough. Been in a FC that has been a mix of RP/ERP and non RP/ERP. More often than not the RP/ERP people brought around the strangest of drama. Still remember one time when doing EX fights to get mounts where we were all chatting and a new RP fling of one was with us. We were suddenly talking about a mechanic of the fight and one of us said 'It's a trap!.' This RP fling went off the deep end saying 'Don't say that, I don't like that word.' We all stopped and finally one said 'What are you talking about?' They continued saying 'Just don't say that word, it is hurtful.' Finally I had to ask 'What word? You mean it's a trap? The mechanic is a trap.' The person got super offended and dropped out of the call then left the party. We found out later they were a female that RP/ERP'd a male in disguise. The half of us that weren't into the RP/ERP scene all said about the same thing 'You can't be serious?' "Talking about a literal trap mechanic triggered them as if we were calling a person a trap?' "I'm not apologizing, that is dumb since it is two totally different contexts. Either they can understand that or we just won't help on the other fights.' Needless to say, we continued on with the other fights without them around. Slowly most of us left the FC since the RP/ERP member that brought the extra in was the lead and it had made the whole thing awkward to say the least after. Anymore I simply avoid RPers because they more often than not tend to have something wrong.
Edit: After listening the whole thing, have to say this person certain ended up on the weird side of FFXIV, even for the RP/ERP side of things. Doesn't change my mind that they all have certain issues at times. Yes, some can be perfectly fine. However, the kind in this story is the reason why you hear about Yoshi P not endorsing any kind of mods - period. Making depraved, mean spirited, or even age-play has made it such a headache. This coming from someone who used to make mods for FFXI, I can only imagine how much worse the ones on FFXIV can be and why I never even looked into it when the FC I mention above tried to lure me into it. Just told them it wasn't my cup of tea, too old for the drama, and only did game related things with them until eventually leaving like other non-rp members did.
Also, as someone who uses SecondLife, at least there you always know what someone else is seeing or looks like since everything about that is handled server side rather than client side like FFXIV. No need to worry that you're just standing there while on the other persons screen they are doing and seeing god knows what on their end.

So at 4:30 the reason RP venues ban lalas is because it tends to go down a dark path it's actually quite common for lalas to be banned from venues at least on the servers I've been to. Also seen some comments about having to be 18 to get into a guild that should be a red flag for those guilds that it might not be a rated E group. Also while yes leather is a type of gear it's also a kink for those who don't kno so plz maybe double check before walking into RP settings that it's what you think it it 😅

this story is so bad and horrifying. i have a couple lala friends i run maps with in game on a daily basis and its sad to hear how many of the lala's get treated this way even in an rp setting i always treat people with respect. i wont lie i call lala's little ones since they are shorter than my bun girl, but i have not ever treated them like kids unless it is part of their backstory. i also know a lala who does extremely well designed houses. i really feel bad that not just lala's but other first time venue goers experience this. as a greeter manager i make sure new venue goers are comfortable, enjoy their time, and are aware of the things involved when attending a venue. This is very sad to me as someone who enjoys venues.
funny thing is that you can recover files that you've completely deleted with a certain software you'll have to pay for it but in the end you can get that evidence back its never deleted and always will be their even if you completely wipe the pc its still their.

I am familiar with ERP (mostly out of FF but in FF very rarely) and for the second story i was with the chick till she was all "awwww it's alright if you are minor" simply because if you take the matter seriously of not wanting to ERP with minors you have to get a little weird because if you ask blatantly they will just lie, let's face it, if we got into that as horny minors most of us would too. That whole kloe thing was weird tho.

Only early in the video but OP is not fully blameless for the start, and neither are OPs friends. They CHOSE to take a freshly 18yo person (OP) to a (seemingly) kink-friendly venue with a CLEAR 18+ theme to incite drama, then they're shocked when someone flirts with them after they go along with it and encourage it at first? There's nothing wrong with treating Lalas like the adult characters they ARE, and it's good that the venue weren't judgemental, I just wish OP would have said that they did NOT consent from the beginning.

Shit like this is why I only roleplay with friends these days and rarely ever put the RP tag on. If I go to a venue, I always bring at least one with me. I swear many of the players in this game should be on a list, and this horror story has made me even more cautious.
