The legend btw joke is by far the biggest insult you can give a legend player.
The ones who boast the most about their weapons are the ones who spent money or use scripts to get them.

As someone who also doesn't have much intuition and relies on learning by getting killed repeatedly from my mistakes, it's embarrassing and the constant feeling of letting down teammates is real. But I could never resort to cheating.

I really hope things like this doesnt convince every average player that you need to cheat to accomplish anything. I raid with plenty of people who doesnt resort to cheating to get legend titles and pink/gold parses. I play on playstation controller with no plugins/cheats, it's fully possible.
and yes, I'm a pentalegend and yes I mess up mechs on casual content at times. Yes I turn my brain off, but also I literally avoid playing my raiding main jobs in anything outside of the hours Ive already poured into high level raiding. I just wanna mess around on jobs Im not good at so I can learn stuff :)
exactly man, the "lesson" they learned from this was that anyone who dies in casual content with a hard to get title must've cheated, that's so dumb. Anyone can clear ultimates with enough patience, it doesn't require any innate talent and it certainly doesn't make you invulnerable in other content. It's pretty frustrating knowing there are people who judge others based off their achievements when they happen to die in casual content.
everyone messes up sometimes but holy shit if you can't make fun of yourself there's no way he made it through those legit, even if they are older ultimates they -still- require mechanical consistency even if the DPS checks are easier now

Its mainly better when the person with the legend title says it though. In fact I’d argue one of the best reasons to clear an ultimate is becoming able to say legend btw. And the more legend titles you have, the funnier it gets. (Quad legend btw)

but, I genuinely don't know why one would spend $30 on a weapon and a title to boast your epeen, as that only opens you up as an easy target when you mess up

OMG I relate to some of this. I get tunnel vision sometimes and forget to play the floor is lava. It doesn't help that I used to main Paladin and I was able to afford to make a few mistakes but now as a dps my head hurts because I have to time when I can hit and when I should run lol
The thing I hate the most is when Ultimate raiders shit on and make fun of other players for their apparent lack of skills in a singular instance, but I know for a fact these so-called legends are using plugins. I’m all for plugins that help improve QoL and I don’t hate the ones that do call outs or highlight safe zones (although I feel this defeats the purpose of the game). But it’s the behavior and hypocrisy of others that I absolutely DETEST. Sure, I use Cactpot and MarketBoard and BTHD, but I can still play the game without those plugins.

Mass cheating completely ruined one of my favorite games. At some point u get to the stage u talked about in the video with the "you should use it too!". New players not knowing any better will go ahead and use it because everyone else is. Slowly the cheats become more accepted, until a large % of the playerbase is using it. Eventually the people who care about being good at the game start to lose interest, because people who just started the game can beat them in both skill and damage. Since ffxiv is more casual it probably wont happen (yet anyway), I just wish players would try to improve with guides and practise instead of turning to cheating :x
I have a friend who is going in to UWU for the first time with a random group, and they are using AMs even though he has never relied on a 3rd party tool, and you could hear him deflate when he mentioned it. My static has a very strict rule against 3rd party tools that affect your skill on patch day lmfao. Cant dodge, don't know your rotation or remember the fight timeline? No thanks.
So xiv in a nutshell, on oce servers most sprouts quit the game before stormblood because the erp freaks get to them before they even have a chance to properly experience the game, introduce them to modding and overwhelm/freak them out.
It's a shame people can't help themselves, modding literally destroys the game when you introduce it to people before they even play it properly.

Did dsr and top on patch without relying on auto markers but when I hop into pf I'm fine when someone has it on. It's doesn't take any skill away. You can literally mark people using a macro in the same exact way as AM but I bet you'd be okay with that.... because it's not 3rd party!
I just want people to know that most Ultimate clears minus newest ones cost less than some mogstation items these days.

I mean at this stage there is no authentic legend at all, I don’t even count point who use and scripts or auto markers as more or less for people who actually paid them. The devs know these services existed decades ago that has been advertised in pf for decades, at this point nobody can say they are a true legend, it’s just paid fashion.
The number of people using combat rotation bots in Ultimate is quite high. The harder the content, the more people there will be who will be willing to pay to clear it.
Whenever I die on duty roulette cause I w2w with sprouts I’m the first one to type legend btw in chat lmao. If you earned it you can take the insult cause no one’s gonna take away the mental anguish clearing it took lmao.
As a sprout, I haven't done ANY Ultimate raids and my only motivation to do one was for a Glam weapon on a Job I'm not even maining. Getting called "Legend BTW" when I'm spotted with the weapon just demolished my motivation to actually touch the content, so thanks for the heads up.

When I see someone flex (nothing wrong with a friendly flex to friends) their clears in an egotistical and narcissistic way like in the video, it is honestly so telling of either, there was cheating/carrying involved just to get bragging rights for something that virtually, does not matter, or someone is in dire need of grass touching if these clears are the pinnacle of their life.

This reminds me of an on going joke in my own FC. Whenever I'm doing and Expert/Raid/Etc., and its just me doing all the damage because some random can't be bothered to do anything, I scream on the FC chat, "Aaauuurrrghhh!! MY BBBBAACCKK!!" This was due mostly to DPS sitting in mechanics, sometimes just auto attacking or just spamming one ability. Like one time I had the displeasure of playing with a BLM who did NOTHING but spam Lightning 3 all the time and nothing else. Maybe occasionally using the free Lightning 3 buff but that was it. Having to carry a group just because YOU are the only one doing anything makes even a dungeon crawl agonizingly painful.😖😩😩😩
That said though, while my main is geared enough breeze through certain Savage/Extreme/Ultimate content, to me its intimidating. You won't catch me dead using a parse for example, bots especially annoy me and some groups sound like its their bread & butter. I just stick to my Expert/25Alliance raids and PVP as a result but OHH do I want those UWU weapons to, just to scared to even try.😭😭😭

I think the thing I hate about those legends, is they give us who spend hours and hours in PF learning the fight and clearing a bad name. I hope one day these cheaters get what they deserve :)

I had a friend similar to the story. he was actually my cousin's friend and sometimes we played together. He started playing in stormblood and was really bad at mechanics. I only remembered this one time, I think that time he was a tank and he main tanked at suzaku extreme trial. He kept dying on mechs. I mean he was a new player so I guess it's normal for him to do that, but me and my friend at that time got tired of his mistakes because he kept on giving excuses instead of fixing his issues. Then at Shadowbringers we eventually played together again, his gameplay does improve, but just because he wanted us to recognize him as a good player, he moved server to NA claimed that he was doing ultimates there, of course I was curious right? I saw his fflogs, he cleared both uwu and ucob (if im not mistaken) on the same day or just one day gap with hardcore raiders that I knew are quite famous on streams. So I'm guessing he payed them to play his character. I feel like you don't need to be great to be recognized.
Yeah anyway you can't really trust people who got ultimate weapons does the ultimates XD sometimes their friends do it for them or they pay people to clear it. For me personally I wouldn't want to do that. It's much of a better feeling if I cleared it myself rather than asking people to do it. THE SATISFACTION ❤

I dont have an issue with people who use "cheats" or plugins that help them play the game better or play the game for the completely as long as they are helping the party by dpsing, healing, or tanking and not acting all high and mighty with a big ego.
The problem is people put legends to a higher standard no matter what they're doing. Knowing a 20 minute fight good enough to complete it doesn't make you a master at the game. We're all human. If they did play perfectly all the time you would still think they're cheating using Add on.

The only thing a title and shiny weapon proved was "we could be competent for 20 min"... But apparently even now that's brought into question with all the recent hacks the Eli Blue guy showed.

I did expect some cheating to be involved, just didnt guess as to which kind... When I started playing FF14 during 5.2, Legend-titles and Ultimate weapons were super rare. Like... I would see one, maybe two every couple months. Now I see several every day. Maybe its due to the big influx of "try-hard" gamers with the latest WoW Exodus, but it was about that time, between Fanfest 2021 and EW, that raiding content got pushed hard. What used to be done by a micro minority became the pastime of what seemed half the community. I'm not saying that cheating didnt happen before, but it was less obvious because... there werent many raiders.
At least, thats my impression. Personally, I cant see any Legend or glowy weapon without expecting some sort of cheating. Simply because they are everywhere. And no, I dont accept the half baked excuse of "I just turn off my brain in casual content": we all know, if you die you do zero dps, if you get hit by avoidable dmg, your dps is garbage. So if they think they are smart with this kinds of responses... it just proves to me that they dont know the game, dont know their jobs and are just fakes.
This of course doesnt mean there arent legid Legends out there who earned their title and weapon. What I'm describing is an observation I made, and its depressing :(
I think casual players can be very toxic toward ultimate raiders as well.
While "legend btw" started off as a joke between raiders I think a lot of players started taking it too seriously and use it to drag people down.
I've been part of several communities where people try to diminish their ult raider friends achievements or point out relentlessly when legend players make one off mistakes while not really mentioning anyone elses mistakes.

Most ultimate raiders on Aether use some sort of aid to clear ultiamtes. Like try to find a party for UWU without "radio, alagan melon, am" etc.

5 minutes in I will say that the whole "legend btw" meme is one of the most annoying ones, and having ultimate clears does not mean you can't die in regular alliance raids. I'm one of those types of people, I've got ucob, uwu and tea cleared with some prog on dsr, and I have all 3 deep dungeons cleared solo, always rocking Necromancer title. None of that shit makes me invulnerable and I hate thinking that some people judge others based off their achievements if they die in casual content. Ultimates don't require any innate talent to clear, you watch a guide and do a lot of repetition, anyone can clear them, the only hard part is having the patience and the right people to do it.

I took my title off after doing all the ultimates in the game, I think one reason legends might do worse is we don't tend to do roulettes or our dailies, and so we often forget those fights tunneling and doing the other content. I will say UWU and UCOB don't feel like flexes in any way, I think those are as hard as savage nowadays ^^;;
The only point in doing ultimate is to boost your logs or just for the weapon glamour. I am not ashamed to put on my legend title because I earned it with hard sweat and tears, if I die to normal mechanics because I probably made a small mistake and died once im all for it lol. People make it seem that legends are immortal being that shouldn’t even make silly mistakes or any at all.

Nerfing content is what lead to this thinking of ignoring mechanics, back when I seriously raided you avoided every mechanic because they were fucking painful to get hit by from Copper Mines all the way up to Alexander which was impossible to win btw Devs admitted as such and only dungeon deserving of the nerf however lower dungeons were fine those nerfs only prepared the new players to ignore things when they should be practicing dodging. Current FFXIV is so full of bad players thinking they are good. Even if you are good you don't stay good without practicing to stay out of the shit.

I ran Dun Scaith with one of my fc mates (another legend) about a week ago. He died like 3 times during the last fight and I, having never even cleared savage, had to fight the urge to roast him in alliance chat lmao. At least he actually earned his title though.

lol yeah rotation sim and aoe mods give crappy players ultimate weapons (and especially the power of the wallet, the strongest third party tool of all). and even without it, ppl can drag non TTP using players across the finish line if theyre patient enough/dont wanna find a replacement.
the first time i joined an ultimate static they told me to make sure i have cactbot installed and i tried to install it but didnt really know how to set it up so i just went 'hm..guess i'll just learn the fight like normal' and ended up learning faster than some members xD

4:30 i hate this sentiment. If you get hit by a mechanic because you didn't pay attention, okay, it happens to the best of us. But if you stand in AoE because "muh uPTimE" and make the healer suffer for it, screw you honestly.
honestly, as a healer, i don't mind. Standing in a aoe for uptime makes me use... a single? lily at most. It's not like I'm spamming heals all the time, so it definitely does not make us "sUfFeR". Actually, I'd rather have a chance of using my lilies instead of having them capped and just sitting there because I just keep glare spamming, so no idea what you're talking about
@@susyviveros9460 here is the thing. I use Lilies for movement. Since whm only has that, the DoT and 1 swiftcast. So if i am using them up on monkeys being idiots, not much left.
Second, if you only use 2 out of 3 f.e. and you are not using yor blood-lily, it is a dps loss. So yeah, sometimes i sit on them capped, because i know i won't get to use blodd-lily.
And lastly, in an extreme f.e. where my healing is planned ahead and a dps can survive a hit, this shitty behaviour can screw me over.
Cause then i have to use something up for them, that could be used to cover a raidwide.
So yeah, it is still shitty behaviour and not necessary at all. Do this to the healer if you can communicate with them on voice f.e. but don't just blindly make every healer your personal content-mummy.
I'm so glad we can't cheat in Deep Dungeons because of Ultimate cheating... Hopefully it stays that way

This is very entertaining and a great idea... but Imma offer a lil' constructive criticism. I think the way you read, with so many pauses and very slow, makes you sound a bit like a robot. It doesn't sound fluid and smooth. Not trying to be mean or offensive!
Ultimate legend is basically guaranteed to be floor tank 1 minute into the fight.
Legend titles are a joke, anyone can get carried to a clear. Get Necro and then I’ll be impressed.

idk about stream camera but i do know that twitch does have a game feed delay for up to a min. noticed this while running extremes with a group that was being streamed.
I turn my brain off for roulettes. Funniest thing was when I was accused of buying my ultimate clear and cheating by a tank in my 90 roulette because brd isn’t supposed to do a lot of damage. Explained that just knowing a basic rotation can make a difference, well that and outgearing everyone in the group and the first boss in Troia being waves of trash.
I love tanking dungeons. I grind tomes and alliance raids. Yes I got for the best gear as a casual. It's nice not to fear getting hit no matter how many stacks.

The bit about things not killing him with his BiS. Most mechanics wont kill you even if you're not BiS...There are very few non-ultimate/savage mechanics that will one-shot you. Imagine if that happened. The game would be too hard. Now, if he was talking about Savage/ultimate mechs, then hes lying. Especially in ultimate where the mechs are designed to punish you...very hard
Eh If you are going to boast about your achievements and ultimate clears at least be a good player. Me I've bought some of my ultimate clears I just don't have the time or want to put forth the effort but I do want the glams and you wouldn't even know I was an ultimate raider you wouldn't even know I'm a mentor unless you were a sprout with an exp buff.
But that is people they want something to say that they are important or you should see them as better than. or justify what they are doing you see it with plenty things irl just the human condition.
Mods are good but I've yet to delve into stuffs that would play the game for me wouldn't want to risk the monies I've spent into 14 to find out
having a professional pilot my account and get the clear for me is a much better option. xD
I don't understand why people say learning rotations is hard sometimes, most classes are kind of self-explanatory if you take time to read what's in your skills menu, I just have to assume people don't read tool tips whenever I run into for example, a machinist that uses reassemble on their basic combo 3 instead of one of the 600-potency skills or uses single-target skills in a pull of like, 10 enemies at level 90.
You really should read what your skills (and traits, they're important too sometimes, when it's not just "Upgrades X to Y") do before looking at any rotation guides and try to memorize it. *understanding* your rotation is so much more important than just memorizing it. Then from there it's just practice, go hit some target dummies!

Not a flex, those two had their difficulty gutted with gear/food/pots scaling.
If you're going to flex ultimate clears, make sure it's from an actual ultimate.
When i was doing ultimates the only ultimates were uwu and ucob, now i come back to the game after 3 years and suddenly the people with legend titles are getting shat on? 🥺
the reason this has happened is because a lot of folks with ultimate titles are paid for.@@davidnguyen2137
