Being able to make a black commander shepherd when I played ME2 for the first time was the single greatest gaming experience of my young teenage life at the time. So if somebody wasn't allowed to make a version of their character that accurately represented their views on what the protagonist should be I'd be livid as well. It's LITERALLY a fantasy game in 2024. You should be able to make a transgender Rook if you want to. Bg3 did the EXACT same thing and it's the greatest game to come out in decades, let alone 2023 game of the year.

That's a really low bar for a gaming experience.
As a vanilla ass straight white dude, i dont understand all the hate with the game. There are a few arguments mainly about Qunari and facial animations that are fair but most of the gripe online is Antiwoke willful ignorance. Very hype for this game
That stuff gets rage clicks. People create huge issues to get views and then everyone copies. People without critical thinking skills just repeat whatever their favorite TH-camr says.

My problem with models is that necks look a bit short, and yes, butt/bulge/breast sliders barely do anything (the difference is so minimal even at maximum position), I'm not even sure why they are there. So I'm with "fix the sliders" gang, if there is one.

Yep, absolutely love my current one💙. Made her really white, elven, silver hair, silver eyes, and had her romance Solas. Gave her a red Ghilan’nain vallaslin until Solas took it away. Been playing Inquisition since 2015, and she's the coolest one I ever made.
most of the people complaining about the options bundle up pronouns, top s scar and vitiligo together lol , and yet they play BG3 (dont get me wrong love that game too but its being hypocritical) - why does it bother them? let anyone play a fantasy game they wanna play it ANY way they want....im so happy Bioware wanted to be so inclusive
I hope they add body hair post game release. I can't stand when games don't add simple things like arm and leg hair. Just a minor nitpick, still love the game though. Also love your videos Uni, forget the haters. 💜

That only makes sense that one crying about the scars is crying about the chest size. Inclusivity” means I can play a character who has had their breasts removed but not a character with big breasts? If inclusivity is the goal then include all body types. I ain’t mad at the choice being available, but it’s a weird intentional choice to have that separate from other scars and then limit the size of chest and booty 😂
@@IronCrone to be fair, adjusting all the different armor to huge breasts and bootys is way more complicated than ... not having to adjust it for scars🤷♀ (you might have noticed that most inclusivity choices are things, that take not too much effort to implement. like the pronouns, which are not much in use anyway)
I think that the limitations on the body types (while they are different, they are different in a rather small amount) really boil down to that - having many different armor and clothing options is a pain in terms of clipping and stuff (you all might remember Cyberpunk 2077 before a whole lot of updates? where P**is and breasts would clipp out of all sorts of clothes? other example - sims 4 (it turned 10 this year) still has sometimes issues with clipping in some clothes, when adjusting certain bodyparts and other clothes (especially older ones) look really off when put on bigger sims. I think having more real options on that front will sadly take some more time :)
@@khlimmave8583 I do remember that about cyberpunk 😂 and you do make fair points. There are ways to handle it by having different body types to match different sets of armor and the sliders for each body type can only adjust to a certain point to maintain the constraints of matching armor or animations or whatever… which is what it looks like they are doing something like that in this CC. They just don’t have body types to include larger proportions. It could be done… if they cared about it. I mean, this ain’t gonna stop me playing the game, I just feel like I can understand why people complain since from the beginning the devs boasted how “robust” their CC was. It is… for hair options for sure! Personally, booty and bewbie options is what I care least about however I feel like devs should know who the majority of their gaming base is. It may be more beneficial to find compromise between their established fan base for this series and attracting new players as well. I guess we will see if this impacts their sales at all. I hope not cuz I like this franchise.
I mean, at least the Hair Options *are* good. That's one of the few things I always modded. :D
You are definitly right with what you say, it would have been possible, to be even more inclusive! And I do wish the bodys where a little less ... square :D Buuut, I still think that this is one of the better CCs out there at the moment.
Representation matters, so I'm happy for the people who can feel represented in this game. I did notice the lack of complaints about some of the other ... "unnecessary" options, like the blindness? for the eyes. arguably something many people won't use either. And if the only "unnecessary" options are the ones that concern things like pronouns or the Topscars... maybe, just maybe, (some of) these people don't (want to) voice justified critisism, but rather spread hate (against certain minorities). And hatred is at least in my opinion something, that should not be used to guide decisions. The trolls are strong in the DA comment sections at the moment too, and I'm pretty sure (or at least hope) that the majority of people who will play this game, just don't write a bunch of youtube comments about it :D
I'm a big fan since Origins (though I think that this game is also flawed in many ways!), so I too want this to be successful! :)
If you're trans can't you just pick the gender you're transitioning to in real life, and complete said transition?
Now I miss alopecia representation... it's not something I ever missed before. But it looks SO gorgeous! I can't wait.

Oh no, I missed it! The one question that has been burning in my mind for setting up the game is the world state building and I can't find hints beyond "these 2 things are options" but nothing beyond that. My brain is going to explode T-T

I don't understand people who cry over them adding additional options to the CC. They didn't take away your ability to be a boring white man. You can still be that in the game if you want. All they did was add more stuff - like ????? What must it be like to be in their sad little minds.
Mostly man play games all females look ugly in this game
they've had enough problems with 'hair physics' i'm worried what would happen if they had to worry about eggplant physics too. we'll see what happens with the tatas. Also, Mouse and Key should be the name of a gamer pub.
New subscriber here! I just found your videos today! Love your energy and enthusiasm for the series. Hyped to see more of your content moving forward. Halloween CANNOT come fast enough this year. I NEED to get my hands on this game!
Both the character creator and actual gameplay looks good. It’s a bit similar to both Baldur's Gate 3 and Dragon's Dogma 2, but it does have some unique features on it's own in terms of hairstyle, factions, costume design and tattoos. As for the gameplay, the combat is a bit similar to God of War Ragnarok and the exploration is almost like Tales of Arise.
I am SO ready for this game. I have been replaying the series trying to come up with the best storyline that I could. So that I had something to look forward to in the new game. I can’t wait for Halloween!!!
Fun fact i always pronounced Neve like it is because Neve means snow in portuguese (I'm brazilian) and she is an ice mage sooo maked sense to me lol ...I'm SO SO hyped I just can't, the wait is killing me gosh, I need the game right known at this point, have my Rooks all planned and named already lol.

I Love the Charakter Creator. So much Freedom in creating your own rook .😍😍😍 The Transphob discussion makes me more and more surprised. I mean we discuss about people. Do you remember Concord? They came out and said that it wasn't a game for them, why don't they come out and say the same thing? Are they scared? Why do they hide in their houses? If you think that as an author, why don't you come out and say firmly that this game isn't made for everyone. It's so sad to see them always hiding and not being man or woman enough to say things properly.

They also act as if LGBT Characters didn’t exist in Origins, and conveniently forget about Leliana and Zevran. And on top of it act as if the companions have never been Pan, but DA2 exists, and then saying trans characters don’t exist while Krem is literally a Fan Favorite
You can just say black you don’t have to say people of color 😭. Those are historically black hairstyles.

I really hate people ignored that there was a trans character in Dragon Age 3 and Dragon Age origins there was 2 bi characters and Dragon Age 2 everyone was bi so Dragon Age 3 there was gay, Lesbian, bi Characters in the game so those games get a pass but not veilguard? lol
They're not ignoring it, most of these people haven't played and are just here for the culture war. The other 20% of them are bigots who love violence which is why they praise Origins so much. You could kill any character you wanted in that game, they're mad they can't ignore the new queer characters like that.
Because now, the MAIN CHARACTER, aka, the 'big hero' can be trans, and that makes the bigots upset. 🙄

They let you create your character however you want, these people who spread hate simply don't know anything about Dragon Age and aren't fans. Even if the music is really nice, the soundtrack isnt even included in any special edition or collectors edition of the game. The only difference between standard or not is cosmetics. Shameful.

What a lovely accent you have! This is not about the cc but I’m curious, in the warrior gameplay reveal from Bioware there was music that played during the menu where you look through your inventory and other stuff, does that always play there? Or is it specific for missions?

Are you serious rn!?? Why DOES NO CREATOR GO THROUGH ALL THE VOICE OPTIONS?! Im going insane trying to find a video that actually shows all combinations of the voice pitch and feminine options. You had a glitch with yours bc it works with other people but for the love of god this is getting out of hand. Video number 19.
The neck tattoo 16 is probably a lords of fortune tattoo.
Same with the sun, dragon and ship body tattoo that you like. There is another veriation of it with a bunch of animals and fishies down the left arm that I have my eyes on.
I too really like them. And it makes me want to play as a lords of fortune. And that mage armor they have is nice.
Also one of the Veil Jumper themed body tattoos has the dread Wolf on the shoulder...makes me think the Veil Jumpers might be a little sus or really cool. I love solas.
I appreciate you and your content so much. Your genuine adoration for DA is obvious and your knowledge has been helpful so many times (even to me ...a person who has played every game in the series multiple times ... but haven't studied the lore like you!). And, I 100% agree that the culture war zealots can f*ck off.

It means that every time you make a new rook you can import a previous rook from another play through so you don’t have to make them in CC again
I thought I was set on who to play going in (male elf rogue crow rook) but when I saw the lord of fortune and mourn watch backgrounds, I went "Oh no" because now I DONT KNOW 😂 I might just have to join the crew of creating a bunch of different Rooks right off the bat 😂 I am so excited to play with this character creator.
I will look forward to your video on combat. I am still worried about it as someone who is planning to play on Storyteller. I know you like a good challenge since you play on Nightmare, but still, I'll be happy to hear your feedback

There is apparently a mirror in the main hub that functions like the black emporium in previous games so you can edit at any time

The CC looks amazing! Thank you for sharing :) I can't wait to customise my inquisitor. After ten years chasing Solas, I'll give her some wrinkles. Also, her LI died in the credit of Trespasser... she hadn't have an easy life.
My only issue is with the boring body sliders and bodies in general represented in the game. They all look rather skinny and childish in terms of body frame. Would be cool if we saw some more maturity and curvature represented as well. Can be modded in easily but I think it’s worth pointing out. Cause like all bodies seem pretty flat looking thus far.

YES! You can add cataracts, give them heterochromia, and so on.
Yep. One video I saw, they gave their male Dwarf heterochromia. Definitely something I will do.

There's a lot of hating videos on the top surgery scars,pronouns. Just don't choose it easy solution. It's cool that there trying too represent diversity.

It really is that easy. Baldur's Gate gave you literally a "full visual" on gender spectrums, and I never read a thing about it from anyone online lol. Wonder why Dragon Age is getting such flack?

God, I'm just over the fucking MOON with the options that we've been presented with. I'm going to be at this for literal hours lmao. And for once I think I might actually be able to make a male character I'm happy with which literally never happens. I always kinda try going for a sort of androgynous prettyboy character, so I'm thrilled that it seems like I won't have any trouble doing so this time around. The body slider options are a bit of a letdown though, I was hoping they'd have more of an impact, but at the same time I sort of expected them to be a tad limiting, so I'm not too upset about it. After all, it is Bioware's first time including them. Anything more detailed might've came at the cost of armor set variety.
I also find the vitiligo disappointing tbh. It's the exact same issue as Baldur's Gate 3 in which they only have a slider for how visible it is, rather than giving us a variety of patterns to choose from. There are so many possibilities for the ways that vitiligo can present itself on a person's skin, so the fact that every character with vitiligo is going to have the same exact pattern is a bit of a shame.
But honestly, those are my only real issues, so I really can't complain. I'm so excited to see what people are able to craft with this system, there are so many possibilities! I'm fully expecting a bunch of videos of people making some Baldur's Gate 3 characters lol
Can we still be more then damage dealers? I loved being a supportive mage reviving healing shielding setting up for the team but not being a main damage dealer and I am very worried the game is just action action action now and I am forced to be the damage dealer cause the companions are weaker and do not do anything on there own

I thought it sounded too peppy for me too lol but I can see it being good for certain Rooks. Maybe it doesn’t stay peppy depending on the dialogue

The pronouns and surgery scars could be the reason why this game fails.

I'm from a group that didn't mind if you were trans, DEI, or woke. But I see that this game doesn't give me customization options that represent me, will they improve that point of being an inclusive game for everyone or will we be forced to follow other people's standards?
Do you remember that before you could make decisions about your companions, you could leave them, kill them, have them join your group, now we will have those options? Or if you don't like a character you will be forced to have them join, without having the options to reject or kill them like previous installments?
Third, will the game have content about political movements or will it be 100% a game?
Including others doesn't mean you are being excluded. Dude you are not being oppressed nor erased. Chill tf out. I'm positive you could make someone like you, which I'm guessing is regular Joe Schmo? It's shaping up to be a pretty good CC. You can basically make who you want to.
@@lovemypitty4lyfe I didn't see all the options. You could create a character without choosing a pronoun or choosing the gender, which is appropriate. I found the body designs compact, so to speak, all with the torso and head squashed. Could that be modified? (I'm not as hunched over as the bodies represent, I work a lot of time standing up)
@@davidpinilla1211I noticed that as well. They all look squat. Even with the height slider. Maybe we can lengthen the neck a bit?
@@angelicastern2385 Have you ever played WoW? The old orc models were hunched over, then they added a new model where they stand straighter, the change in posture totally changed how they look. Maybe they can do that and that's it. The bust and butt size is the least of it, later there will surely be mods for those things.
