The funny thing is, I identify as social-liberal (in a lot of ways I'm very much against the right, often on social, philosophical, or economic matters), but I actually agree with a lot of the points you laid out in this video. I've recently been exposed to the "rise of the SJWs" after sheltering myself from interaction on the internet for years, and have gotten bullied, harassed, etc, just because I like edgy humor or using expressions like calling things "gay" as a joke. So now I've been thinking about how insane and extreme and rigid and how just... fun-ruining the whole "SJW"/"woke" culture really is. It's just funny because it's like, people have solidly identifed me as "left-wing" for most of my life. Although I prefer to label myself centrist, I'm basically a "social democrat" or "modern liberal" in terms of my ideology. Yet... this entire cultural bandwagon of attacking people over petty cultural/social differences or disagreements... it's just gone too far. You know, I'm all for equality (well, equality of opportunity and equity) and combating "unfair" inequalities. I'm all for promoting diversity and agency and empowering people's ability to shine their differences. But people have taken that and just gone into kookoo crazy land. If you like using bad words or profane expressions jokingly, you get targeted and called a bad person. Homophobe, racist. I like old video game rape jokes (just using the word "rape" to refer to decimating enemies in a game) so I get told that I'm a bad person because of that. It's just crazy nonsense. Obviously it doesn't change my entire political ideology. People will often choose their political associations or enter into ideologies based on these personal or cultural aspects that are relatively small in the grand scheme of things. But I'm just surprised about how alienated I am within this culture. People that I "should" agree with and I "should" feel connected to, because I do share the same core ideology as them (I'm just not as batshit), they shun me and call me whatever, and heck I even get stereotyped as right-wing just because of these differences I have. It really is shit, the entire culture of the internet has gone to shit, and this part of me just really wants to push against these newly imposed social norms and fight against it.
I'd like to see a video on how Postmodernism / Nihilism and friends plays into Woke morality. I feel like the "Woketoids are Marxists" thing has been overplayed and is an oversimplification, and its equally that Moral Relativism is a feature of Wokeness that has roots in Postmodernist / Nihilist philosophy.
I was wondering if you can cover philosophy tube for your refuting breadtubers because it seems woke people use philosophy to strawman or make excuses to manipulate an argument
Yeah, the more I learn about moral philosophy, the more I think that 80% of it is either an effort to explain the philosopher's or society's dominant religious beliefs while removing the divine, or a self-interested political movement trying to justify, legalize, or get people to enable them in their personal failings.
Speaking as someone who’s studied (and teaches) philosophy I would very much like to see some pushback against PhilosophyTube. I have friends who don’t realise that it’s an ideologically motivated channel and so believe that they’re learning about philosophy when watching.
Wildness doesn’t only back 15-20 years. Look up a movie called PCU, a fairly entertaining college movie. Causeheads have been simmering on campuses for close to have a century at this point. Movie was so on point that when the students figure out why the administration is bad, everyone is in line for handheld billboards when the causeheads day “no worries, we brought our own.”
Moral development: Pre conventional; Avoiding punishment, Self interest, Conventional; Good boy attitude, Law and order morality, Post-conventional; Social contract, Principle, Metal Gear Rising; But who's to judge The right from wrong| When our guard is down I think we'll both agree That violence breed violence But in the end It has to be this way...
it is not a video, so it is probably harder to react to, but can you discuss Slate Star Codex article "Meditations on Moloch" and the idea of multipolar traps, or situations, in which competition necessarily leads to worse outcomes for all players
I think if they make argument out of there opposition that would probably not been made by that opposition had teacher who said “people say black people are inferior cause there in jail more ” now granted this was just an example to show bad logic but it did feel a bit out there and he does agree that this exist he went to on to say that’s because there “targeted more by the police and some nod to systemic racism” now whether or not you agree or not with the last thing is up to debate but the first thing of well people think black people are inferior as there more arrested is absurd now sure they may be people who think but most go on things like crime proportion and disagree with the systemic thing but they don’t beleive that black people are inferior so I guess it would be strawmanning of opposition
@@hennie5307 I’m acutely aware of the general beliefs and goals of people that are left leaning. As well as what’s typically considered a serious issue or not, as I actively inhabit these spaces. What people on both the left and the right tend to do is amplify the voices of a minority opinion in an effort to demonize and fear monger their base. Or take some outlandish claim out of context, or in this case use a straw man argument to represent the majority of people. Just like I don’t go around assuming all right wingers are n*zi’s, perhaps you shouldn’t assume the worst of your “idealogical opponents” either
Damn you upload quickly
The gamerants I make don't require nearly as much effort as my previous video ( Wikileaks and Wikipedia ).

I like how "Hello my name is victim" came up just when you got second place.
Quality video editing right there.

He said in the "how Unhinged behavior destroys Political movements" video he'll be refuting Shaun next
Either Shaun or Second thought. I'm somewhat working through both.

another banger as always, can you cover the left’s misuse of the word “incel” and misportrayal of the right wing as incels in the future?
As James Lindsay has pointed out, your reaction IS their action.
Is your voice higher than usual? It sounds a little less nasally.
I talked a bit more slowly for this video because I recorded it when tired lol.
Makes sense
Moral development:
Pre conventional;
Avoiding punishment,
Self interest,
Conventional;
Good boy attitude,
Law and order morality,
Post-conventional;
Social contract,
Principle,
Metal Gear Rising;
But who's to judge
The right from wrong|
When our guard is down
I think we'll both agree
That violence breed violence
But in the end
It has to be this way...

F-Zero is the greatest racing series ever made. That is all I have to add to this conversation.
4:30 geez that voice change caught me off
Can you do one about nazis being socialists? I mean, it's in their acronym, but some people still don't understand it.
TIKhistory and PraxBen made videos on that

Can someone please find the video where Literature Devil defines wokeness?
A mermaid that can't swim is a circus act, obvious for anyone to see
Are you suggesting that black pippo can't swim?
When is the next breadtube video
Soon™ ( Probably 3~5 weeks depending on real life )
@@MentisWave who is it
As someone who identifies as more left leaning, I can confidently say that your first example about the smiling woman was itself a straw man…
what does saying you are a leftist contribute to your argument?
