Edandawala Tempita Viharaya || ඒදණ්ඩාවල ටැම්පිට විහාරය

After turning from #Pallandeniya on the #Kurunegala to #Puttalam road and traveling about three and a half kilometers on the #Gonagamuwa road, you will come across this historic #Edandawala Tampita Vihara. Located near a beautiful paddy field, this historic #Tampita temple was built during the #Kandy period. Tampita temple has been built with two floors on top of the walls by using rather tall pillars to cover the pillars. Inside the temple, you can see a sitting Buddha statue and two standing Buddha statues and a collection of paintings belonging to the Kandy period. The colors of these are very discolored. The front of the temple has a pair of wooden pillars with beautiful carvings. This Tampita temple as well as the old Sanghavasa building have been preserved as protected archeological monuments.
#කුරුණෑගල සිට #පුත්තලම මාර්ගයේ #පැල්ලන්දෙණියෙන් හැරී #ගෝනගමුව මාර්ගයේ කිලෝමීටර් තුන හමාරක් පමණ ගමන් කළ පසු මෙම ඓතිහාසික #ඒදණ්ඩාවල ටැම්පිට විහාරය හමුවෙයි. මනරම් වෙල්යායකට ආසන්නව පිහිටා ඇති මෙම ඓතිහාසික ටැම්පිට විහාරය #මහනුවර සමයේ ඉදි වූවකි. තරමක් උස කණු යොදා එම කණු වැසෙන සේ බිත්ති බැඳ ඒ මත දෙමහල්ව ටැම්පිට විහාරය ගොඩනඟා තිබේ. මෙහි විහාර මන්දිරයේ තුළ හිඳි බුද්ධ ප්‍රතිමාවක් සහ හිටි බුද්ධ ප්‍රතිමා දෙකක් ද මහනුවර සමයට අයත් සිතුවම් සමුදායක් ද දැකිය හැකියි. මේවායෙහි වර්ණ බොහෝ සෙයින් දුර්වර්ණ වී තිබේ. විහාර මන්දිරය ඉදිරිපස දැවකණු යුගල අලංකාර පේකඩ කැටයමින් යුක්ත ය. මෙම ටැම්පිට විහාරය මෙන්ම පැරණි සංඝාවාස ගොඩනැඟිල්ල ද #පුරාවිද්‍යා ආරක්ෂිත ස්මාරක ලෙස සංරක්ෂණය කර තිබේ.
