    I did 108 sun salutations for 49 days and a lot of miracles happened physically, mentally and spiritually. Thanks a lot!

    Hi Alexia - Thank you for creating this challenge - I finished Day 7 yesterday! It was quite a learning experience. I followed your advice and did it in the afternoon (every day before supper from Saturday to Friday), my energy was better then. I learned not to exaggerate moves, but to keep the movements where my body is comfortable. I think that my breathing has improved and so has my alignment. I watched and read more about this sequence which really helped, it was like a week long workshop. Again thank you - look forward to your emails - and hope you are having an amazing time with your new baby - savour every moment, they grow up so fast! 🙂

    I did it a couple of times on the International Day of Yoga (I did the classic sequence, not Ashtanga versions). It took me about three hours per session, and it was hard! But I didn't do it seven days in a row, would never dare to even dream about it.
    Bow to your achievement and thanks for sharing good vibes with the rest of us!

    • @AlexiaKYoga
      @AlexiaKYoga  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Oh wow, 3 hours! That's impressive! The Ashtanga version can be done in 50 minutes but can be veeeery tiring. And yes 7 days in a row was an exhausting but fun experiment I don't think I'll ever do again! Thank you for watching and commenting :-)

      @@AlexiaKYoga it also depends how you count left and right sides. I considered them parts of one cycle, and that effectively doubled the number of repetitions. Also I took a break in the middle, and it all effectively adds up to three hours. But that was for a special event, not an everyday routine, naturally.

    I'm 5 days in on this madness as well. Finish Friday, perfect for a relaxing Christmas day. It's been taking between 40 mins to 46 mins to get it done. Hamstrings and arms really feeling it but I'm loving the challenge.

    • @AlexiaKYoga

      Oh yay! Well done! The foam roller really helped with my hamstrings. Strangely enough my arms were completely fine throughout the 7 day madness! Hope you have an extra relaxing Christmas Day :-)

      Hahaha so now you know, not random at all! Shoulders have been fine interestingly enough, it was only in the hamstrings I ever really felt it!

    Oh I am SO glad you did this- I've been meaning to do this and now with losing my job recently I have plenty of time LOL...but I think it's gonna take me longer than 50 min....perhaps I'll report back once I've started/completed.

    • @AlexiaKYoga
      @AlexiaKYoga  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Leslie it really was a lot of fun, though very challenging too! There are different ways to practice the sun salutations, and so the version I did seemed to be one of the fastest and thats why it took 50 minutes. If you get tired, take breaks or rest in child's pose every few sun salutations. Ok it will take longer to do, but you may enjoy it more :-) Sorry to hear you lost your job.. And yes let me now how you got on!

      That’s what I was wondering, too!!!

    • @AlexiaKYoga
      @AlexiaKYoga  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Good question! Ok so the easiest way is to find a guided class to follow. Alternatively, you can say each round out loud once you finish it, or even think about the number of each round while you're doing it. By taking breaks, for example at 27 or 54 that also helps split it up and so it makes it easier to not make any mistake with the counting!

    • @barmalini
      @barmalini 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the easiest way, at least for me, was to put-up a playlist with surya namaskara mantra repeated exactly 108 times (4 x 27 actually), and then I practiced in sync with the chant.
