The Sun Salutation (Surya Namaskara) is a classic yoga sequence that has been practiced every morning by millions of folks in India for thousands of years. There are numerous benefits of this series of yoga postures (1), but there is one key mostly unknown benefit in particular that I feel compelled to share. It remedies an imbalance that affects just about every modern-day human.
    How the Sun Salutation Works
The sun salute activates the body's breathing and digestive fulcrum, the junction point in the body where the rib cage meets the abdomen. It is where the diaphragm splits the body in half. Below the diaphragm is the liver and stomach, which are critical for digestion, and above the diaphragm are the lungs and heart, which are vital organs. If this area becomes rigid, the function of the organs above and below the diaphragm can become compromised. Keeping the diaphragm free, as we will see, is critical for optimal health.

I'm here from Mind, Body, and Sport.
Did the breathing only 30 years ago briefly. But i was to impatient, and didn't learn anything about the diet or yoga.
I'm pretty much all in now, living, breathing, and exercising as he teaches.
We shall see how my life, and my marathon and triathlon training goes...

Thesis after thesis can be written on practise but if the purpose of practise is not realised thesis will not be useful. Practise is to develop devotion for creator and be in complete sync with creator and its creation. Health benefits are by-product. Foreigners try to extract the benefits without appreciating the purpose and acknowledging the culture originating such great ideas.

Bro! Surya Namaskar ≠ Sun salutation. There is no sense of saluting a celestial object. In sanskrit the word Surya (सूर्य) has many meanings. Grammatical Surya means by whom or due to which other objects illuminates or get nourishment and energy.
Surya namaskar is an exercise which effects your whole body that's why our ancestors called it Surya namaskar. Surya is one of the hundred names of God also because mediating and worshipping the formless God gives a lot of physical and spiritual power.
Our Aryan ancestors were the followers of Vedas in which idolatry and veneration of any object is prohibited.

    • @NoMadMediaProductions

Would you say that namaz is essentially the same thing, although a bit modified?

    • @AbhishekTiwari1111
      @AbhishekTiwari1111 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@NoMadMediaProductions To perform namaz one have to prostrate towards a particular direction and towards a particular object called kabba. Hence it shows a practice of veneration of that object, so it is an idolatory as per vedic teachings. Vedic principles are against the veneration of object or place and pilgrimages also.
Vedic prayer are being done by sitting straight.

If you don’t mind, which tradition did you study or is there a particular school where the teachings like you said can be found?

@@NoMadMediaProductions iam an 'Arya'. Arya Samaj was established by Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati ji to get misleaded people back to the original Sanatan Dharma which is based on Vedas.

I’m learning this from you. I am a big admirer of Vedic culture, it has enhanced my understanding of my own religion - islamic Sufism. To be honest I haven’t found a single deviation or error in Vedic teachings so far. What does ‘Arya’ mean, gramatically as you said?

In Sanatana Dharma, the knowledge and power were given to sages by the gods while they meditated and prayed. These sages shared the knowledge and wrote books on it.
Unlike Christian apostles got drunk wrote some shit. And later popes and churches compiled whatever they wanted and created Bible.
In Sanatana Dharma, the knowledge is still alive due to the practice coz it really works, while Christians are leaving the religion while they were forcefully converted
