Been living in Kansai for 24 years and still loving it here. I was in Tokyo for almost half a year at one stage but it felt so lonely there

I love Osaka❤! I have many friends from Osaka and their personality is super friendly. I did a homestay with a family in Osaka way back, and I visit them frequently. I am very used to the Osaka dialect and has a cute touch. I recently also experienced Kyushuu Ben which was also interesting.

Osaka is basically like the South in the United States and Tokyo has a vibe closer to New York or most big cities. Me being from the south I have more in common with people from Osaka but everyone I've met from Tokyo was cool as well. I hope more Japanese will travel to other parts of the US other than just NYC and LA because these places absolutely do not represent the country.

Tokyo people dress soo nice look really peaceful Osakans look like gangsters hooligans I haven't seen one business suit walk by and they look wearing all black I also news on here about muders and fires car crashes I notice that difference but great food in Osaka and they serve foreigners soo total win

Osakan are more open, friendly... maybe because have more foreigners. I live in Nagano-Saku and the people are so closed.

I love Osaka people even though I live in Tokyo. If you want to find real Tokyo people you need to go to the suburbs in western Tokyo. Most people in the city come from different regions.

I am becoming more and more convinced that I would prefer Osaka to Tokyo, they are more my kind of people.

Osaka has the "southern" people that are more loud and rowdy, but also more friendly and outgoing (Southern US, Southern Europe, etc). Tokyo is a bit colder and more robotic. People are kind and polite but closed off and cold socially.
