I can feel the Tatemae everywhere. All of the interviewed girls say "Yes, it´s very common, it happens a lot in my social circle", but as a coincidence, not even 1 of them does it.
Its only 1 person that said it happen in her circle.

My cousin lived in Japan for years. And she lived in two different places while she was there. She was amazed at how open sexually things were, and how often one night stands happened. She said drinking parties were a daily thing. She felt out of place at times because she was a foreigner, and because she didn’t drink alcohol. Her stereotypical view of Japan was crushed. She was groped on subways, and was asked for sex a lot. To the point she avoided subways, and tried to make sure she was always around one of her friends. That was in the city. But when she had to move to a rural area things calmed down significantly. She did say she really enjoyed living there when she did. But she preferred her small town she grew up in here in America.
She said maybe her experience is different. She is African American, but looks more on the white side. Blonde hair, blue eyes, wavy hair. She is very attractive.

I feel because Japan is a place of respect and high tact, they wouldn't willingly give out who they know had been like that. Instead they'd be very kind about it.
I lived in Japan for about a year and a half. Sometimes I would end up going home with a girl I met only a few hours beforehand. But I don't consider these instances "one-night stands" because we would exchange information the next morning and start dating. It only happened once where I went home with someone who knew I was just visiting Tokyo for the week. We still hung out a bit after that night but once it was time to leave Tokyo that was it.
Conclusion: I think "true" one-night stands (going home with someone, then leaving the next morning and never talking to them again) are quite rare. But going home with someone you met that night is quite possible.

In Japan one night stands occur in very specific districts that are almost tourist attractions and facinations themselves. In the west it's just everywhere, and completely normal, much to the shock of my Japanese friends.

Humans are the same everywhere, women won't openly say they sleep around but trust me there is a lot of women that sleep around no matter where you are. The amount of cheating that happens in Japan is massive same as in the West. Society all over has changed from marriage at a young age and one single partner maybe two if you're lucky too not marrying at all and sleeping around.

I think that when with their friend or partner standing next to them, or considering the risk others might see the video, the answers are far more likely to be socially desirable. A Dutch friend had been dating my Japanese friend/neighbor for a year before it ended. All the while my neighbor didn't tell me and later I had to hear from my Dutch friend this had been going on. Similarly, after I had a one night stand with a female Japanese coworker of the same neighbor, that coworker asked me not to tell my neighbour, our mutual friend. So I can kind of imagine how much friends keep secret from eachother in Japan when it comes to sex, hook ups and even serious dating. I'm currently casually seeing a Japanese coworker from my own work who's 10 years younger and she's also way more relaxed about casual sex than what you'd expect from the answers given in the vid. I guess attraction will do its job, no matter the culture. The question is, will it happen overtly or covertly, depending on ideas like honor, piety and social judgment/punishment.

Not a single ones interviewed have done the one-night stand, in spite that they say it happens frequently around. This suggests that all of them have lied, especially since their faces appear in youtube. This suggests hypocrisy is rampant in japan, but this is not news.

This is Osaka. The answers given in Tokyo are the same. Osaka and Tokyo are considered polar opposites in terms of culture and type of people in Japan. But this one thing seems to be the common ground. When I lived in a small town of 2000 deep in the country-side in Kyushu, surrounded by other small towns between 1000~50,000 population, people were sleeping around quite a lot as well. I also remember that when I was an exchange high school student in another part of Kyushu in a town of 60,000 girls were approaching the white American exchange student for sex.

Here in Tokyo event planners and entire business districts organize “gokon” parties where bars and restaurants within a certain neighborhood participate. You can hop around. Guys pay for a nightly pass and girls get a pass essentially for free. The primary objective is to hook up whether it’s for one night or long term.

This should tell you how much Japanese lie. Everyone says that one-night-stand is super common, but no one who got interviewed has done it.

I like your channel, and I'd like to offer some constructive feedback: try and ask more open ended questions, and wait longer for people to respond before interrupting them with another question or offering them a potential reply. In my opinion, you often resort to this, perhaps in an effort to make the interviewees feel more comfortable, but really it detracts from my ability to trust what they're saying. I understand the need to make them feel comfortable, but I think there are better approaches for this that don't harm the quality of their responses.

Abrahamic religious thought is totally absent in Japan, they are basically atheist. Nihilism is common and I've been told sex is considered a "bodily function" and not subject to morals the West ascribes it. That said , the most honorable and ethical people I've ever met were Japanese. Its a very strange dichotomy that deserves more discussion.

Also probably let other dudes hit straight away hence the pause, taking to time to make sure her answers consistent with how she acts around him. Most likely acts differently around other guys but it’s hard to keep track off how she tricks them all individually to protect her image.

I think they’re not really counting them as one nighters as long as they’ve kept in touch with the person for a bit. Japanese people are really good about getting the LINE information and keeping in touch even though they’ll never see or go out with that person again. So it probably doesn’t feel like a one night stand now with technology. But I would still count it as that if you never got together again.

Why is it so important for the "interviewer" to spread the word about this? Why is he trying to introduce the mindset that this is good? What is his agenda? To "westernize" japanese women to become copies of the women we don't want in the west?

This reminds me of what happens in America where women will say that a guy should take them out for dinner and pay for everything and talk about how they don’t do one night stands.
But in my experience, a lot of women do them, that’s how I’ve started most of my relationships and situationships.
The answer is found in human biology, not street interviews. It’s interesting nonetheless to see how people respond when asked directly.
Based on the different answers we can see that some at least had ONS.
It's detectable for the two girls on the right in the group of 4.
Look sometimes how some (like in a group of 2) will always watch the other guy/girl to see what he/she will say and then say the same thing more or less (it happens in other videos also).
Also the question about Virgin vs 20 people is interesting and can reveal some informations.
The last question (even if it's funny) is really one that can reveal (most of the time I believe) the true opinion about ONS.

It's really common, I had 2 of these encounters on my trips in Japan when I was a single woman. I'm an Asian foreigner there and I admit I had a wild side before and I opened Tinder when I went to some countries and try having a date there. I haven't been to one night stands as the Japanese men I were with actually asked me out for a date or just be my travel companion.

From personal experience, the two at the start of the video definitely would do it.
Ive found japanese alt girls to be significantly more prone to having one night stands and just overall being more physical and touchy especially because their social circles are usually full of herbivore men (e.g. otaku or gaming communities) and "normal" japanese men seem to avoid them. So just a little bit of confidence goes a loooong way with them.
They are much more marginal, open and curious about sex due to their online experiences as well.
Lived in Japan from 2012 - 2015. I can confirm that plenty of Japanese women are up to "Mochikaeri". However, I never did it with any married women. Glad I didn't. But my body count was over at least 40

When I was younger we literally "blacklisted" ONS women/girls. We had a big group so it was easy to know which girl was a keeper and which are fine to play with. I know some might say it´s rude but I don´t care we shared the list with everyone who shared intel. Who would want to fall in love with a good mannered girl just to realize that she got laid by most of your friends. Nasty shit needs to be tagged as such. Women do the same. As soon as they met a guy they will brag with/ bash him in their circle. A women that does ONS is too loose to be a loyal wife. I don`t think anybody plans one-night stands it just happens on its own. So, I mean if you turn down someone's nurturing need for sex it is up to you, but if you don`t be social a little bit and help her/him through the difficulties by providing them with some kindness and good times then you are one of those who do progress. But, don`t get me wrong this isn`t a sport or something that you should do with everyone, only when there is a chemistry and hood memories involved, so in the future you do want to remember that person. You should also protect yourself or choose wisely as you can get an STD or even worse if that is the case. And, you should never do it if you are in a relationship with someone.

I like the fact that a lot of people view one night stands as bad. I think it is bad for society. Also the thump nail on the video makes that girl with the pony tails look like she has a high body count but she seems innocent. I would change the thumb nail. False advertisement.
Incidentally she and her friend are part of a subculture that is known for exactly this (and other „socially not acceptable“ things). But maybe they just like the fashion. I don‘t know. Many Japanese would assume the thumbnail to be true though.
