    One big reason the i returned the original version is when using the white setting, I had a green or purple shadow against the house along with the white. I didnt like how that looked at all so im willing to spend the money to get a normal white look for accent lighting to use all the time not just on holidays. JMO

      We can see a slight rainbow type effect that you are describing but it’s most noticeable up close and on a solid color. Luckily for us, most of the area is stone with varying colors and texture which hides most of it.

    The non pro version comes with 1 extension cable and I did cut it and added extra wire and to extend it to cover the gap needed to connect the light so it can be spliced.

      Yes mine had 2 extensions in the 150 foot version. I’ve seen that you can splice and solder but that is at your own risk for voiding warranty.

    Great video, exactly what I was looking for. Would you recommend any alternative products that would compete with the pro version? Mainly the warm white and black cable features. Thanks

      I wouldn’t recommend an alternative. We have numerous Govee products and they work great. Furthermore, given their products as well as their sales volumes, they are most likely to survive when some of the companies go bust, so I find this product to be the safest choice.

      Unfortunately the govee pro don't seem to be available to buy anywhere

      @@oddrington unfortunately this happens with Govee products when they are newer a the demand is so strong. Keep an eye out and wait for the real deal in my opinion. It might mean one more year of traditional lights but it would be worth it in the long run.

      I have the original and I think they are bearable and I am not upgrading. Good luck if you try to trade-up.

    Do you recommend to add a protection plan?

    • @JoshsSmartHome
      @JoshsSmartHome  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      No. I self-insure instead of buying protection plans. On average the companies have to make money from those plans, so you will spend less on average by not buying protection plans. I haven’t had any issues with Govee products and they have a good reputation.

      Any idea when the Pro will be released in the UK? The Pro is exactly what I'm looking for! I've been unable to see anything clear about this online...

    Are the Govee pro quality compared to trimlight and other brands ?

    • @JoshsSmartHome
      @JoshsSmartHome  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’d put these at or above the others as we’ve never had any problems with them. The fact that they “just work” and have lots of features make them a winner in my book. Furthermore, Govee provides these high quality lights at a price that is typically at or lower than their competitors.

      There is nothing officially supported that I am aware of, but I believe there are 3rd party products although I can’t vouch for those.
