- Hi Viewers. In this episode i will be demonstrating on How to clean your Throttle body of a Honda CRV RE1 Engine R20a1. This method requires to take apart the Air intake components to access the Throttle body assembly off the engine.

Tools needed :
Chemical spray (carbon cleaner)
Socket 12mm
Screw driver
Long nose pliers
½ “ Ratchet drive
Old Rag to wipe
Old Tooth brush
Additional note : Best to use new gasket replacement ( I am re using old gasket for this purpose video ) and retighten TB bolts criss cross pattern using torque wrench to 16 - 18ft lbs .
If your car idle incorrectly please do Idle relearn process:
1. Disconnect negative battery for 10 mins then reconnect the battery.
2. Put the car key on ACC for 2 seconds
3. Start the car up and press the gas pedal to 3000rpm for 5 -10 mins (until both radiator fans comes on).
4. Release gas pedal and let it idle for 2 mins . Shut off engine .
5. Restart engine as per normal .
Effect and advantages :
Better throttle response , better fuel economy , better airflow .

Honda Accord euro 2009 2.0 R20A3 just cleaned out whilst ignition on position 2 and weight on gas peddle so butterfly is fully open/closed. After clean, disconnect battery for 15 mins, reconnect with all lights and radio off, go to ignition positon 2 for 2 seconds, then start car, run at 3000rpm for 5 mins or until fan kicks in, and throttle position relearn is all done, set ready to go. Idle rock steady and running sweet 👌😙. This teaches ECU the adjusted position of throttle after it has been cleaned

I have a honda CRV 2015 4wd im getting 18l/100k very bad fuel consumption, my friend have the same car he’s getting 10L/100k, i have changed air filter only and i wanna know if i should take it to mechanic or should i clean the MAF and the pcv valve first! Is there anything else i can look it!! The car has 68000k.
Yes definately clean maf sensor and pcv. Also id recommend if you can clean the Throttle body aswell.

this particula one dont have , its got EPS system not by power steering pump.
Is it necessary to clean the IACV for that kind of engine? Can you also make a video of it?
you definately you can clean the IACV. Unfortunately i dont have this car anymore .

Before cleaning the car hesitates to accelerate effecting the MPG. After cleaning the car response much better and restores car mpg.
@@FelixDanGarasiAuto thanks, what is that plastic sensor just downstream of the throttle body on top, I forgot the name of it? Did that need spraying too with electrical contact cleaner? Also did you lose much coolant
Hi, Felix. When you disconnected the coolant hoses running to the TB, did you experience any coolant leaks? Or is it necessary to bleed the air out of the radiator? I'm planning to do this service on my 2015 xtrail. The backside of the TB is pretty hard to reach. Thank you.
yeap theres a small coolant hose on the TB. Once disconnect you will get small coolant spillage. You dont need to bleed the coolant just refill it after the TB service.

either way r fine , you can choose which ones are the easiest for you to clean.

I have got big questions.i had changed fuel injectors no1and 2 now my engine have problem again exactly like before change the ejection 1-2 .do you think I have to change 3and 4 Engection??!

Absolutely legend .I did that in Honda dealerships and they said number 3 is bad and the 4 is not very well that’s why they going to change bought .will be all 4 injectors brand new .hopefully be last for ever .🙏cheers boss
Is it necessary to pull out the whole throttle body everytime for cleaning?
What's the torque spec of those bolts?
Yeah better to remove the complete assy. Otherwise you also can clean without removing the whole unit just spray it with cleaner and a brush. But then after that you might want to rev the engine out so it burnts all the dirty residue out of the combustion chamber.

no i would not recommend. As you might damage the TB assy.
Setelah cleaning throttle biasanya kan harus di learning ya om, pernah coba learning throttle secara manual gak om di honda crv bongkok ? Klo pernah boleh share dong 😀
Relearn nya bisa lewat obd ecu. Ataupun bisa dengan cara manual saja nnti setelah 5 sd 10 menit mobil dijalankan komputer ecu mobil nya bisa menstabilkan TB nya tersendiri.

3000 RPMS for 5 mins
at what miles was this done and whats your opinion on the shops that will spray cleaner into the intake which cleans throttle and engine from carbon by burning it off? i have a 2016 crv ex and 72000 miles on it..i bought it used so i am not sure the care it had..i do get a rough idle while stopped at lights and so i flip the headlights on to increase the idle..not sure if its just a honda quirk or a dirty issue...otherwise she runs good. thanks for your advice.
i cant remember at what milage but it was higher than 60000kms. It is fine if you use spray cleaner into the throttle body. give it a go it might eliminate the rough idle.

its built within the fuel pump unit.

im not sure if its uses the same engine, but can look at the manual book to confirm.

Apakah sebelum bro bersihkan Throttle body baterenya sudah di copot?? Kalo belum coba di copot baterenya dahulu selama 10 menit dan kemudian pasangkan kembali baterenya ini untuk me reset ecunya. Jika sudah lakukan copot batere dan problemnya masih ada maka coba tahan gasnya pedalnya pada saat mesin nyala di 3000rpm selama 3 - 5 menit. Terima kasih.
Can someone guide me what to do after cleaning the TB my crv consumed more fuel.
disconnect battery for 10 mins let it idle for 15 mins & drive it slow for 10 mins so the ecu relearns properly so you get the best performance out of it.

Its Drive by wire (electronic throttle control).

Yes clean the choke plate and Throttle body barrel.

@@FelixDanGarasiAuto The fact of the matter is that there is no such tool. Where I live, there are no special services for Honda. If the throttle does not work properly, then I have nowhere to go to fix it.

Hi boss, can advise my crv SWA model after do engine valve adjustment, when in cool engine start, the rpm will go down below 500rpm after press the brake and in Reverse gear ?
The rpm not consistent in 750~800
I had clean the TB and EGR valve and it still the same issue
have you check the spark plug and coil pack? have you clean PCV valve? do you have any error codes (EML) .

I had ordered 4pcs of new plug coil, when arrive will change it

@@FelixDanGarasiAuto Ya, just check with Google, I had change the new PCV valve already, the rpm is still unconsistent too, is any other sensor will affect this issue ?
@@mongeesan6662 maybe disconnect the battery for 10 mins to reset the ecu let see if thats fix the problem.

Supaya mencegah adanya korslet di komputer mobil sebaiknya di copot aebelum start pekerjaanya.
Sorry buddy but it is absolutely recommend that THROTLE BODY CLEANER be used on a throtle body.

What about throttle adaptation and you forgot to clean IACV .
Dont worry about TB adaptation. It should relearn by itself by driving for an hour or so .

Luqman Hakim . Kemungkinan besar crv nya mengalami kerusakan pada salah satu sensor di mesin . ECU komputer mobil harus di diagnosa mengunakan obd reader untuk mengetahui lebih pastinya.
After cleaning do you have check engine light problem?
All good no problems here. If you have check engine . Please check any connection make sure they r plugged back in.

if your rpm goes higher after the TB service yes it needs to be relearn.

Job incomplete where’s the idle relearn?
The ecu will relearn by itself. Make sure you disconnect negative battery prior performing this service. Just give it a couple of mins warming up the vehicle. This car had no running issue and idle 100% perfect after the service.

@@FelixDanGarasiAuto the PCM need to reset and idle relearn is needed. This will happen if the valve is pushed open.

Charles Fortinez it is also fine not to remove the Throttle body . You also could just spray the TB plate with the cleaner and wipe it gently with rag becareful not to force open the TB plate.
