I have never been able to make a pie crust however your instructions and the way you explain why you do things the way you do makes complete sense. I’m definitely going to try this so I can then use your Dutch apple pie recipe! Saved both recipes!❤
For most pies, no. For pies that are not baked but in a pastry pie crust like banana cream, french silk, etc, you will have to pre-bake it at 350*F for 10-12 minutes. It should state in the directions for whatever pie you make whether you need to pre-bake or not. Hope that helps!
I just bought my first house and can’t wait to bake my first apple pie because I looove them... found your recipe for the pie and your crust so I will give it a try and get back to you and update my comment... many thanks for sharing!
I came from the Dutch Apple Pie video of yours, and your crust there was perfectly 'wavy' around the edge of the pie crust. How did you get that design in the crust?
Yes. Just dock the crust (poke it with a fork all over so it doesn't puff up when it's baked) and bake at 425*F for 10-12 minutes or until it's lightly browned.
