If you have lower back pain it will actually make it worse! You don't want exercises that put curvature in your spine with it under load. Try starting with some leg raises its a great exercises for strengthening your core and a stronger core will assist with back pain. Don't dive into the deep end of leg raises there are plenty of good videos on TH-cam for leg raises for beginners there are many different variants of leg raises.
