  • We're de-lite-d to introduce the ASICS GEL-Kayano Lite, a lighter, stripped-down version of the classic Kayano stability shoe. Gone are the plastic pieces, the Trusstic systems, and all of the BS. Instead, we have a nice mild stability shoe that can work for pretty much everyone. Anyway, just watch the damn review for the rest. Available now for $160.

    I’m a neutral runner, but this is one stability shoe that I would like to try. Good job guys!

    I love the kayano line. Only shoe for overpronators that isn’t ugly in my opinion. Companies seem to think flat footed people like our shoes to look bargain bin

    Great review! Love this shoe, great updates compared to the standard Kayano 27.

    Great review. I can’t find these in the UK. Any idea when they will be available?

    Is there a Gel-Kayano Lite 2 coming out soon? I love my current Gel-Kayano Lite (I have flat feet and I pronate as a result), but I am putting on the Kms. I have to decide what to do next

    Is this shoe out in europe? I can see the kayano 27 lite-show but not the 'lite' are they different?

    I wore the Kayanos for years without problem. I was excited to try these, but they really hurt the outside bottom of my my feet. I had to return them. They seem like.a great show for some people, but I am not sure they work for all Kayano wearers.

      And this is why the Kayano regular is still available. 👍

      I've never heard of a 13mm drop, and I've worn stability shoes all my life!

    • @janetduback5161
      @janetduback5161 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@melindareiner9908 I know! I thought Brooks Ghost was the highest at 12 mm. I think ASICS should reconsider putting a 13 mm drop on the shoes. The highest I like is 10. 6-8 mm is my sweet spot.

    • @melindareiner9908
      @melindareiner9908 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@janetduback5161 Right now, I'm thinking of going with the NB 1080v11. 8 mm drop and no crazy cut-a-ways to the midsole and has a proper outsole.

    Slightly unrelated, but you guys seem extremely knowledgeable. I slightly over pronate, and have worn moderate support (Mizuno Wave Inspire/Asics GT2000) running shoes for years. Would you recommend trying to strengthen my feet and ankles and moving to a neutral shoe? Ive always felt like this is an ideal. Is this possible? Ive ran barefooted/forefoot before and although my ankle muscles burnt out quickly, it felt amazing. If this is possible, what method would you recommend training and transitioning? Recommend a shoe? I'm 185, 34, training for a half marathon, and currently run about about 3, 5 mile sessions per week. Thanks guys!

      @Believeintherun  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’d recommend going to a pt and working on strengthening your supporting muscles while you slowly work a more neutral shoe into your rotation. This shoe and the Nimbus Lite 2 would be good shoes to start with. Try running one of your runs each week in them and then see how your legs and hips feel. If there isn’t an issue work in more runs and finally start adding in other light neutral trainers.

    So would this be a good shoe for a slight pronator but midfoot runner?

    Which least intrusive stability shoe do you guys think is best? Hoka Arahi 5, Asics Gel Kayano Lite, Mizuno Horizon 5? If you have any other suggestions please advise. Thanks!

    Comparison with the New Balance Vongo v4?

    • @Believeintherun
      @Believeintherun  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We haven’t reviewed a Vongo in awhile. So can’t really compare.

    • @kenblahetka2398
      @kenblahetka2398 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      i've run in both. The kayano has more traditional heel counter, the cushion is dense, its not super soft but I'm a big dude and i'm not bottoming it out, the support is subtle. Over all i like it better than the vongo.
