    I am a senior (71yo) who only does a small amount of treadmill light running and some outdoor walks with grandchildren. The Gel Nimbus is the most comfortable shoe I have ever owned, so a great option for seniors everyday wear. Good stability, good grip, super cushion

    Hi @Ben - some useful information to add to your reviews would be whether there has been any significant update from the previous model of the shoe as many would be looking for discounts or deals on the older versions of the same shoe being reviewed 😊 Many thanks for the great content - keep it up!

    100% agree with you on the Superblast. My favourite of the 12 or so shoes I currently have to run in. Replaced my Endorphin Speed 3 which was my previous top shoe.

    • @quintijnkroesbergen5611
      @quintijnkroesbergen5611 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Do you think it’s more protective than the endorphin speed 3? I have the ES3s and I get bad knee and hip pain from long runs. Looking for a new shoe for those long runs

    • @AntTN5
      @AntTN5 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@quintijnkroesbergen5611 I ran 15 miles in my Superblasts yesterday and they felt great. Very stable despite the high stack. They are not a soft shoe and maybe feel stiffer than the ES3 but for me have a greater energy return. The geometry of the shoes are quite different too. Way more roll-through on the ES3 but for me less spring and bounce.
      I cannot say whether one is more protective than the other. I put 350 miles on my ES3s and they were always great to run in. I just prefer the Superblasts - by quite a lot.

    • @quintijnkroesbergen5611
      @quintijnkroesbergen5611 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AntTN5 I think the stiffness of the superblast might just be what I need. Guess I’ll just have to buy them and try it out. I love the ES3s but the long runs (18k and above) hurt my knees and hips terribly. But maybe the is not the problem. Thanks for your reply

  • @Risayogi
    @Risayogi 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    I’m a severe overpronator, I have flat feet so extreme that the lateral side (outside) of my feet pulled off the ground a bit, so I’m dependent to stability running shoes. I’m so used to the typical characteristics of stability running shoes, i.e. firmer sole on the medial post (inside). But when I tried Kayano 30, it feels very different. Their 4D guidance technology on the medial post is unique because it is actually softer than the rest of outsole. I read that although it is softer, but it is very responsive/bouncy, so it bounces the inside of your foot before in can get overpronate. Interesting concept. I have only had one 5K shakedown run yesterday, will try with some longer runs to test their comfortable stability claim.

  • @salmon1s
    @salmon1s 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

    After using the Novalbast 3 for half an year I got a pair of Superblasts. Tried them yesterday for the first time - completely different type of animal. They look quite similar but imo the Novablast is more poppy and springy (from now on I will use them for higher cadance shorter runs) and the Superblast is more comfortable and protective (I will use them for recovery runs and longer distances). Both are amazing but I didn't expect that big of a difference

    • @isaacgarciafuentes7941
      @isaacgarciafuentes7941 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Perhaps it’s also the distance you’ve put into the novablast. They don’t feel the same as a new pair.

  • @DaveOwenEdinburgh
    @DaveOwenEdinburgh 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

    In the past year I've really embraced the idea of maintaining a shoe rotation, and also been doing more easy runs, having seen the 80/20 light. That meant I asked in my local running shop what they had that was generously cushioned for recovery days, and I tried my first ever pair of Asics shoes, the Nimbus Gel 25. They always feel gentle and forgiving, especially the day after a big session. They seem to encourage me to run lightly, and find my form again quickly. The lacing works and doesn't come unstuck with just a single bow. The lockdown is so snug it just feels as though the soles are welded to my feet, and it's this that makes me tempted to try Asics for more slots in my growing rotation. I could not imagine every developing a blister in these. Yes, I quaked a bit at the till, but it's been worth every penny.

    Thanks for the review! I used to run in asics but have moved away from them. I loved the mizuono wave rider 24 but none of the versions after this. I'm on the fence about the ON cloudsurfers...they are fun to run in but almost too soft? The shoes you showed look like they have a lot of extra room in the depth of the shoes. I have this problem with a lot of shoes and it's really hard to get a good fit because of it.

    I love my Nimbus but it is the only shoe I've ever owned that gives me slight blisters directly on the bottom of my foot. The gel strip that runs down the middle is in a weird position, almost like it's not wide or long enough so my foot kinda rubs on it.

    I would like a new balance line comparison what is their best all round shoe, rebel, 1080. Maybe brooks also.. The best all round shoe for me is capable of going marathon distance, light weight, and not too expensive. I feel like asics has more shoes but if they are not worth it then its fine to not include them. Its really helpful because there are so many shoes and its almost impossible to compare them.

    Cumulus 25? Magic Speed 3? Evoride Speed is also an interesting option considering how cheap you can get it.

    I'm looking for an alternative to the vaporfly for marathons. I'm in doubt about the adios pro 3, the meta speed sky+ en the edge+. But I would like to know how all three of these stack up against the vaporfly for speed. Anybody has some suggestions based on experience?

    As someone who is about to take up running. would you recommend a carbon plate shoe? Im hearing good things about the superblast but it has no carbon plate which apparently reduces fatigue and gives you more energy. Im 30 years old, pretty unfit but looking to get into shape from running. thanks.

    For how long you are being using NovaBLaST 3? Both in km and months. Thanks.

    Magic Speed is a banger of a shoe

    All three shoes from Asics that I bought this year just rules, and it is almost impossible to get similar shoes from other brands to compete against : -Gel-Nimbus 25 ( most comfortable high cushioning shoes of the year) ;
    - Magic Speed 3 ( most comfortable ,nimble, and the fastest trainer with a plate ! );
    - GT 2000 12 ( most nimble, lightweight, and comfortable daily trainer with amazing stability !) This one makes the Pegasus 40, too, look super heavy and slow ! And I also love my Peg 40 !
    Go go go Asics ! Can't wait to see your incoming shoes in 2024 !

      When do the new 2024 shoes come out?

    • @MiracleWarriors
      @MiracleWarriors 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@FragranceFrontier The Nova Blast 4 might launch in 2023 bettewn now and November and the Gel-Nimbus 26 in January or February. Like three months after the Nimbus we will probably see the Gel-Cumulus 26 ... the beginning will be very hardcore with already many high cushioning shoes launching or launched by the end of 2023. Hard decisions to choose one fromthe bunch : NB More v5 , Gel-Nimbus 26, Nike Invincible 4 ...

      @@MiracleWarriors thanks ! Question what asics shoe would be best for stairmaster ? I already own nimbus 25

    • @MiracleWarriors
      @MiracleWarriors 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @DivineOutdoors I'm not sure about that. But for safety reasons and if I wanted to use that machine in a faster speed I would use less stack shoes . If you want one running shoes to do all workouts in the machines ...maybe a basic Nike Pegasus would do the trick and if you need stability but still want max cushioning I would use a ln Adidas SolarGlide 6 ( cheap shoes, very cushioning and stable but it is a bit heavy) that is almost as stable as a Gel-Kayano.
      Just remremember that doing walking lunges , squad etc is better to use proper gym shoes or you could just remove them for a particular exercise and execute it shoeless.

    Lol, just missed the release of the gt2000 12. Would be interested in seeing a comparison with the kayano.
