    I have the 29, a great pair of daily shoes for standing all day. The only problem is the forefoot, too hard in the cold day morning. After half an hour of warming up, it gets softer like it was. I had nimbus 25, more comfortable, but the heel is too large. It lifted my foot a little bit too high when I was driving. Gave me the feeling of insecure when I was pushing the speed up pedal. So I’m very looking forward to the 30, I guess its thicker midsole of the forefoot may balance the hardness.

    I really liked how you shocased alternative shoes to the Kayanos 30. Great review video

    Thanks for the review. I loaded up on the 29 due to its sale price. And looking more for stability. Coming from the 23, the 28 was a huge improvement and assuming 29 will be similar. 30 looks interesting but will wait for future releases when needed.

    Pre-ordered already and pretty eager to give it a shot. I use the Guide and Tempus primarily, so this should be a nice addition to the rotation if it works out.

      @q20a08 ปีที่แล้ว

      Any update on how that went. I Think people are interested in how those shoes might compare. Personally, I think the K30 is fairly different from the other 2.

    • @elliotendures
      @elliotendures ปีที่แล้ว

      @@q20a08 Yeah, very different. I actually don’t find the Guide something I reach for on longer or recovery runs. Kayano handles that well. It’s basically made the Tempus a tempo and potential race shoe, but we’ll see. Too many damn shoes in my closet. Could be worse :)

    I love love love my K 28! I have 29, but it hurts my toe since it tiny bit shorter than the 28. I still love the 29 though but not as much as my 28. I love to try K 30 now. I wonder though, is it short like the 29? I just want to get the right fit without a lot of back and forth exchanges.
    Thank you for the review! Very nice review.

    Good review Ryan. Can you please comment on the expected mileage from the new sole? I've been using Nimbus 24 for work for a couple years, mostly walk and stairs, average 7-10k steps per day. They tend to age at about 8-10 months and have to replace them.

    I think the brand of the year for 2022 was Saucony with its great line up of training shoes. This year, it clearly ASICS' year!

    Very interested to try the Kayano30! But is it more breathable than the Nimbus25?
    I really like the Nimbus25 except for its breathability.

  • @jollyroger1009

    I have the 29 and flat feet: at first I was concerned about losing the Kayano support that they are famous for, but it was just fine. The only issue I had in the end (the cushioning was fantastic otherwise) was that I wouldn't have minded a little more cushion in the forefoot as the 29 tends to push me into a mid to forefoot strike (helpful for getting that "correct" running form). Very excited to see that the 30 will have this so can't wait to try it out. I hope it isn't too close to the Nimbus 25: I'm still going to be looking for that foot support.

      @@leroyjenkins7968 I just did my first run with the Kayano 30 yesterday. It provides enough stability for my overpronated n flat feet, and the mid and forefoot section is well cushioned like the Nimbus 25 feel.

      Have done over 100km in the 30 now and am finding that Asics did a good job in keeping the Kayano supportive. The foam is firmer than the 29 but softens up as it breaks in. It gets pretty good from about 40km onwards.

  • @LumberingBadger

    Would be interested in how these stack against the Ahari 6? Iv had a few pairs of Kayano 29's. Wondering whether to upgrade or jump ship to a new brand. Would be interested in your thoughts.

    I purchased both the gel Kayano 29 and 30. The 30 gave me knee pain after jogging a couple miles on pavement and the 29 didn’t give me that issue.

    How would say these compare sizing wise to the nb 860v2? I went true to size in those and they fit too snug. Has a very narrow tour box.. def going a half size up on these because of that

    If you don't mind - I wore the t500's for several years (loved them) and then went to a mizunno and dont like them. Theyre causing major pain in my calves achiles and I am simply walking. I want to go back to Asics. What do you recommend? 6'3 - Wear a 12 - around 300 lbs currently.

    thank you for this video! I have terrible pronation, flat feet, plantar fasciitis, and awful shin splints. was looking at pulling the trigger on the gel nimbus 25 as they were super comfortable, but now i’m
    confused. i’m just wearing them as a daily shoe for walking - but seems as though I need to give the kayano 30s or maybe the gel cumulus to keep my foot supported? any thoughts from this comment section appreciated!!

    Is Kayano 30 more breathable than 29? The latter is warm on toe box for long distance run especially hot summer weather ...

  • @filoIII

    You mentioned the width of the Kayano, but didn't compare it w/ the width of the Nimbus 25. Which is wider? The Kayano's width ought to make it more stable, no? ty

      I have post tib and the 30 with my orthotics work well. The forefoot rocker helps most. I’m going to try the ghost for walking as higher drop offloads the tendon.

    Your stack height comparison numbers seem off for the Gel 29, which Asics quotes 25mm heel, 15mm front, not 36/26. There appears to be a very significant stack difference between the 29 and 30 that your numbers don't suggest

    • @RyansRunningReviewsYT
      @RyansRunningReviewsYT  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They updated the methodology to measure stack. The new way includes outsole and insert I believe which is why the numbers are higher now.

    Should’ve worn the Kayano 29 instead of the Nimbus 25 on the other side to confirm if it really is more stable than the new version

    • @RyansRunningReviewsYT
      @RyansRunningReviewsYT  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did and the 29 is more firm with more plastic at the back making it more stable than the 30 imo

  • @stevemcq75

    What's the FF Blast + Eco like? I saw a review of the Kayano Lite 3 (which also uses that foam) that said it felt a little dead. Is this mitigated by the extra stack height in the 30?

    • @TheJj2598
      @TheJj2598 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s plush foam, this will be softer since there is gel in the heel where the Kayano Lite uses no gel

  • @mattylevo
    @mattylevo ปีที่แล้ว +1

    If you need the stability, it will not be more comfortable vs the 29.
