Shout out to guitar stores for tolerating our BS like this. I remember being 15 and going to guitar center with no money or intention on buying anything. Just grabbing whatever looked cool off the wall and jamming on the amps. Really helped me nail down what instruments are comfortable for me and gain a somewhat entry level understanding on operating amps/equipment.

@@TeensierPython Uh no, beginner guitars are real and many are most are completely fine to start with. Go tell a beginner they have to blow a band on a stratocaster because a squire or harley wont "hold a tune" or "inspire passion to play". You know what wont inspire passion to play? The burden of having to drop big money on a guitar. They're called beginner guitars because they're cheap enough to where if you end up not liking it, it won't make a hole in the wallet, but they're just good enough to get a feel for the hobby.
And the whole tone thing with expensive guitars is a myth too... tone comes from pickups, strings, your amp and so on. Has nothing to do with the price tag, whether it's a unibody, mahogany, rosewood, maple. Go do a blind test between for example a strat and a squire and tell me if you can hear any significant difference for a 800+ dollar price difference.

There’s the confidence destroyer, who demoes his own skill instead of the instrument, then the too busy dude who will get to you when they’ve finished inventorying the picks, or the simply too cool to speak to customers dude who is talking to the other cool store staff and ignoring you, the one who can’t stop saying “dude” or “bro” the condescending git who starts a conversation with barely concealed contempt for your musical choices. Try those Target fancy nails and Crazy Glue-works great-shape them to fit...
JARED should make a video with an aspiring female who comes in with DOLLY PARTON fingers and tries to play guitar!
Ha, the day I went looking for a Stratocaster; had a whole crowd gathered when I blasted off PROUD MARY with all of the bar chords sliding down the fingerboard! I told him I needed a narrow neck guitar to get a better sound!!
WELL DONE, Jared!; You hold that guitar like a real PRO. You should hove been at the Brass Ring years ago, when Delaney and Bonnie were preforming there. I was working with Ben Benay on some originals arrangements; I played a few melodies for him on violin, and he knew I was teaching myself guitar; He said he wanted to show me something that the "guitarists like to use to impress the girls' with!" HE SHOWED ME THE BAR CHORD, ha the Major, the Minors, the 7th; (and yes, the C#Minorj, with a diminished 7th"....THEN he clamped a capo on; WOW Guitar made Easy! WHEN I SHOWED MY FEMALE FRIENDS AND STUDENTS THAT BAR CHORD sliding up and down the fingerboard, I think live band performances lost a major part of their screaming girl fans!
Like to see you use that CHEATER BAR in some of your new videos!
Have fun-And I was told that "cheater bar" was just a bar where people hung out to cheat on their spouses.!.
"You're the Reason I'm Not Married!"
"I Saw the Light" (with fake fiddles, ha!)
"Why Are You Cheatin' on Me?"
      Heartaches " Acapella and

I was fine with playing in guitar stores then. That’s about the time I became the pick theif. I probably took "shy guitar" guy to the another level. I'd researched the crap out of various guitar models online, watch TH-cams, etc. Then go to the store and play one tab riff and one chord riff. If I didn't like it, I'd go home and repeat the process until I found one that did what I expected both in sound and comfort. Then I'd ask store to check out, inquire about the additional cost for guitar case, and go on my way. The entire experience would be In an out within 15 min. Being in stores like this around actual good guitarists can be intimidating. So I try to go in and out as quickly as possible. Exactly what I did with my most recent guitar purchase. I have not been back for about 5 years since the guitar still sounds great and is decently maintained.

I walked into a specialized Bass Guitar Store in Frankfurt once, just to see what they caried. Two guys were having a Blues session and the staff clearly had a difficult time. They had a Status Bass on display with the usual Traee Elliot Stack sitting right beside it. Asked if I could have a go with the Status, to which they happily agreed. Some Mark King Lines later the Blues Session was over. Staff was very happy and me as well, having been able to at least have a go with the Bass of my dreams. 😀

@@coffinfeeder7732 I think that has a lot to do with it. I don't feel like I'm shy as in embarrassed, but rather I'm trying to be courteous. "The Pick Thief" doesn't actually exist.
What you're referring to are the Pick Goblins.
They can't be seen because they instantly disappear when you look at them, and their entire purpose in life is to hoard as many picks as possible.
Many a guitarist has known the plague that is the Pick Goblins, and the only way to prevent them from stealing all your picks is _to buy more picks._
