It’s moments like this that help me stay positive, keep me motivated, and keep me going with wanting to do better. Seeing people like you appreciate what I do only makes me want to further push my playing/writing abilities, and that’s exactly what I plan to keep on doing 🙏🏻 Once again thank you so much for having me be a part of this, and thank you to all of the other players that contributed to making this years shred collab as good as it is. Merry Christmas everyone 🎄❤️

Well the years start coming and they don’t stop coming! Lots of shooting stars breaking the mold in this video, Jared! I know I aint the sharpest tool in the shed, but thanks for letting me look kinda dumb with my finger and my thumb in the shape of an L on my forehead at 19:02.
I was waiting the whole time for you to pop up, excited to hear what you'd come up with for a solo in the colab. Then I got Allstar'd right in the face. Twice. Thanks Drewsif!
And they don't stop coming and they don't stop coming and they don't stop coming and they don't stop coming and they don't stop coming and they don't stop coming and they don't stop coming and they don't stop coming and they don't stop coming
You can really hear the influence Polyphia has had on a few of these Guitarists, their style bleeds through in some of the tracks (not to mention Scottie is literally in the video xd)
I think you need to listen to more music an especially older polyphia..most of these people inspired polyphia if anything lol. I'm not sure when people started acting like the new sound polyphia started using didn't predate them.
@@crowing3886everyones got influences even tim and scott, especially in their older stuff. They took it and used it in a different way that no one really heard. But yes ofc they did stem from other influences.
@@splatastic244but that's not true...the only difference in sounds i suppose is the use of trap beats sure but the guitar playing predates them an most of the contemporaries they grew up with heavily inspired them. Tim is on record knowing his use of thumping is only because of tosin an AAL. The pop essence of their older sound an the staccato uses was all chon, intervals, plini, covet an that whole subset of bands. Even the acoustic styling is verbatim bossa nova. Polyphia has been out since what? 2011? They didn't even change their sound until 2018. I get people being inspired but it feels like people didn't even listen to instrumental music until g.o.a.t went viral now everyone is saying Polyphia inspired everyone an made a new sound an genre..it's a slap in the face to everyone they got their sound from imo.
Ola and Uncle Ben knocked it out of the park! Beautiful melodic solos. The intro was amazing too. So were everyone who participated. Thank you Jared! I wish you and everyone Merry Christmas and a wonderful year ahead.
9:56 Thank you, Jared! You put an absolute masterpiece together, it’s exciting to be amongst such killer players! Seeing these videos the last few weeks and now the final collab has been so uplifting! Merry Christmas! 🎄❤✨
Jared Inserting himself there as "Nik Nocturnal Award Winner" got me laugh out so loud my wife thought I am having a seizure. Jared you are a legend loooooooooooooooooooooool
And the video editing/directing award goes to... 10:27 that glorious close up of those 4 notes landing on their 4 vibrating strings! That stuff looked as glorious as the solo sounded! GG, AV!
Yours was one of my favorites. Love how you established a strong, catchy melodic phrase, developed it, then incorporated it into the shreddy section. That's what a solo is supposed to do!
25:03 Feels SO GOOD to be here among legends and people I’ve been watching for years, you guys rock. All the best for everyone and nice to (virtually) meet you all! Hehe
Didn't realize I'd actually heard you on Jared's "Shred Feast" EP, but yours was among my favorites in this video. You got a new sub out of it, anyway. 😊
Opening with Brandon feels like there's no possible other way to start this collab. This whole thing is just insane! Love seeing more women featured and love seeing more "non-standard" shredding! Folk instruments shred too! Can't wait for next year's!
@@jaykelley103 he wasnt being creepy. It's just that there is often less women in the guitar industry and its good to see more diversity in players and bit just males.
This is amazing. When I saw the time, I didn’t think I’d last through the entire video, but just when I thought I might do something else, either one of my favorites would show up or some new-to-me content creator grabbed my attention with something amazing. Great job you guys!
Brandon - what a beautiful opening! Charlie Robbins - skills! I love this kind of playing. NINI - I felt like I was about to choose my fighter and all of the characters were the most badass of the game. Matteo Mancuso - finally! This man deserves more recognition. Charles Berthoud - the best bass player on the Internet and probably one of the greatest ever. Bernth - like what are we suppose to do with the tabs? Mad skills. Marcin - when an acoustic guitarist shreds harder than electric shredders. Godlike level. Kirill Mazhuga - amazing and very musical. Goosebumps! I want a full song
Check out more of Matteo's other stuff and also the videos from his album The Journey (Drop D and Silkroad) here on TH-cam. He's the complete package...not only developed a groundbreaking technique, but can play multiple genres as if each was his forte. Plus he also has done covers of Larry Carlton, Holdsworth and others that are amazing.

22:59 thank you so much for including me in this years shred collab Jared! It’s honestly kind of surreal seeing my name up there next to some of the best players I know. It’s moments like this that help me stay positive, keep me motivated, and keep me going with wanting to do better. Seeing people like you appreciate what I do only makes me want to further push my playing/writing abilities, and that’s exactly what I plan to keep on doing 🙏🏻
Once again thank you so much for having me be a part of this, and thank you to all of the other players that contributed to making this years shred collab as good as it is. Merry Christmas everyone 🎄❤️

I have two daughters I am teaching to play now, and seeing all these females shredders on here is very inspiring to them and myself!
Why did you need female shredders to be inspired? Isn't the music inspiration enough?
@@DeltaPi314 representation is important in music for the same reason it's important literally everywhere
You can really hear the influence Polyphia has had on a few of these Guitarists, their style bleeds through in some of the tracks (not to mention Scottie is literally in the video xd)
Yes and scotty play the most anti Polyphia solo😁
I think you need to listen to more music an especially older polyphia..most of these people inspired polyphia if anything lol.
I'm not sure when people started acting like the new sound polyphia started using didn't predate them.
@@crowing3886everyones got influences even tim and scott, especially in their older stuff. They took it and used it in a different way that no one really heard. But yes ofc they did stem from other influences.
Polyphia sucks.
Marcin always blows my mind as well.
I love how the old guys look like they are barely moving, but they are absolutely melting their guitars

@@OlaEnglundyou especially. I know its a matter of preferences, but melodic > shred non sense
@OlaEnglund yours are always melodic and tasteful, did it again
Marcin went even harder than on the last one! How he can make an acoustic sound heavier than distorted guitars is beyond me.
He is so good it’s unbearable
Yo someone tell him about Tenacious D 😂
@@blakesimmons5130 Very familiar with Tenacious D. He has the same mindset, just ramped up to a thousand
I find most of his work generally a bit too much for me but his part here so tasteful and so good.
@@YmpiCZ it’s not the actual playing of his that bothers me, it’s his haircut and over exaggerated mannerisms while he plays lol

Brandon - what a beautiful opening!
Charlie Robbins - skills! I love this kind of playing.
NINI - I felt like I was about to choose my fighter and all of the characters were the most badass of the game.
