Who is seriously going around disliking this kind of video all willy nilly? Also the ONE kid that picked up the bass is my hero. I loved this, way to go Jared.
Gear doesn't matter as much as you'd think. I got my first bass at 15 which was a cheap Ibanez, a few later bought a 62' Reissue Jazz bass, ended up selling the Fender and keeping the old Ibanez because I thought it plays and sounds better, despite being a lot cheaper. Just make sure you're playing your heart out and having a blast doing so, and that's all that matters.
That would be such a heartwarming dividend to enjoy later when you're old. All the donors will be able to feel proud too, if just one of them "makes it" and thanks Jared..noone else will know.but you'll know.
This is awesome. So many kids get those shitty starter packs and dirt cheap knockoffs (from people with good hearts but either don't know the difference or can't afford better quality gear), and they quit either because they think they are doing something wrong due to faulty equipment or they get frustrated when the equipment just doesn't work. I dealt with quite a few disappointed parents who returned them when I worked at a music shop. By giving these kids $750 each, you get them started on or upgraded to some solid gear that they WANT to play on, which increases the chances of them continuing on and getting better. Well done.
I was lucky enough to be born into a musical family. While my parent's didn't have a lot of money, they worked hard to get me instruments that may have been cheap, but worked. Forever grateful 🙏 I hope these kids look back one day and realize how lucky they are

But... a few months ago, I picked it back up and have been playing consistently and really enjoying it. So moral of the story is! A lot of these kids already play but some don't seem to, and that's okay. Dude thank you for supporting our local Guitar Shop! It is an awesome store and it is really cool seeing you in a local Seattle shop with a bunch of really happy kids!
This made me tear up. I remember being young and my parents were never supportive. No one in our family was musically inclined. I had no one to look up to or ask for help. They got me an acoustic but got tired of hearing me play it so took it away. My daughter likes music and I am willing to do anything I can to keep that fire going. I knew what it was like for mine to be quenched. I had to find it on my own. The internet is a beautiful thing. Thank you Jared for doing something like this.
My first guitar was an electric and I had no amp. I bought it for $10.00 and I was 12 years old. My mom wouldn't let me play it in the house. Even with my door closed and no amp she would yell "I can still hear it! Turn it off!". I never had any lessons so my friends weren't interested in hearing me either. That was in the late 70' early 80's. I taught myself how to play and stuck with it. In the early 2000's, I got married and at my wedding, I played and sung "I had to say I love you in a song" by Jim Croce. Later at the reception during the parent dance my mom says to me "That was beautiful, I didn't know you could sing and play like that!". 😶
Jared you are an absolute Godsend to these kids. This whole video I was in tears just seeing the joy and appreciation that these kids had interacting with you and picking out the guitar of their dreams. Beautiful. No other way to describe what you did for these kids man, thank you for giving the opportunity to have good musical equipment to those who are beginning their journey as musicians!!!
German Martinez There was one bassist. The great thing about bass is, even if you’re not particularly good at it, you can get a lot of opportunity to play, even professionally. And of course it’s on the job training when you’re getting those opportunities.
As a man in my 60's I acquired my first plastic guitar at the age of nine. Being gifted my first real wooden guitar for my 10th birthday, which let to a lifelong passion of playing a multitude of instruments, I am overjoyed to see your heartfelt generosity to share the gifts of music with our young musical treasures. Thank you sir.
drew c At 13 to prove I was serious my parents gave me a 3/4 size acoustic guitar with nylon strings. After playing it day after day for a year, my. dad got me an electric. But I did not get to pick it out and it was a huge double cut out hollow body. Supro. Not set up correctly and cut my fingers up as the action was horrible. Neck was probably warped. At 17 (1974) I traded it for a 1972 Black and Gold Gibson Les Paul Custom. Quite the upgrade!
You know...I used to be one of these kids. I started learning guitar with a very cheap acoustic guitar and i always wanted a electric one but my parents couldn´t afford it. I´ve spent years staring the guitars at the local guitar shop. Years latter i started to work and as soon i got my very first paycheck i runned to the same guitar shop and i spend it all in one guitar! Second paycheck i bought a guitar amp. Thanks to you these kids don´t have to wait as much as i did back then. Thank you dude. Peace ;)
Philippe Tina i feeel you man. i played an acoustic guitar for 7 months til i got my first electric. my parents could only afford a really cheap epiphone that was on sale for black friday but that was my first and the one i probably made the most progress with. these kids are so lucky but lets hope that they dont get burnt out and end up quitting. they are soooo blessed!
I feel you man! The first paycheck i got was goes in to my Washburn N2 Guitar.. The one i Washburn N series i can afford around 10 years ago.. It is second hand, may be third hand.. I bought it from a friend of mine..
You can tell he genuinely cares about the cause and bringing music to people. Most influencers would do something like this for there own personal benifit. The fact he went around and talked / jammed with kids is truly touching.
I don’t think these kids realize how lucky they are. Jared just started the next generations of musicians. Hopefully these kids use their power the right way and carry rock on forever.
Hey Jared, this video almost bought me to tears, I'm a visual artist, I'd love to one day be able to provide the best canvasses, paints and brushes for children back in ireland! Such a beautiful thing to give to the next generation, it will help them through hard times, improve by their quality of life, open up new doors for them, get them interested in new and old music genres, it's really heartwarming to see. And even if some of them leave the guitar to collect dust at some stage in their life, it'll be an amazing reminder for them of the day someone gifted them with a fantastic gift. Cheers dude for the eye watering content!

That little girl at the end, wow! Playing wish you were here at such a young age. There sure were a lot of very nice looking instruments going out the door that day and a lot of happy smiling kids as well.
This video made me really happy. It's so nice to see Jared give up his Dj0ntar for some cash and giving away that cash to give these kids an opportunity to be able to start on a really decent guitar that's not a cheap knockoff of a squire.
You're awesome Jared! Happy to see your works. And James, if my any change you get to see this comment than, man you're doing great work too... You deserve same respect as Jared. God bless you all...🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿 Happy holiday
Hey Jared I don't know if you'll see this but I just want to say when you were planning on doing this it really inspired me and I ended up purchasing my friend who's family isn't as fortunate a guitar that I found on a used website for his Christmas present
OMG this is beautiful. I have two kids (11 and 9) and I can only imagine the joy those kids in the shop are feeling - a lifetime with guitars begins here, all thanks to you!

Sophia Bogard u are an amazing parent and human being, that’s beautiful
No future bassists? :( maybe davie should take care of those
5:40
@@rhod2486 must of missed him, one at least :D
German Martinez There was one bassist. The great thing about bass is, even if you’re not particularly good at it, you can get a lot of opportunity to play, even professionally. And of course it’s on the job training when you’re getting those opportunities.
5:43, dude!
I would give a child money to buy a bass but I don’t have money.
So true
Ok boomer
I feel you man! The first paycheck i got was goes in to my Washburn N2 Guitar.. The one i Washburn N series i can afford around 10 years ago.. It is second hand, may be third hand.. I bought it from a friend of mine..
You can tell he genuinely cares about the cause and bringing music to people. Most influencers would do something like this for there own personal benifit. The fact he went around and talked / jammed with kids is truly touching.
Letting the kids choose probably is the best thing about that. Such a great idea.
@Jew Adolf that kid who chose the epiphone made me cringe at that purchase though if they liked it why not
_Cringeover9000productions _ Epiphone Les Paul standards are really good for the price point.
Jew Adolf Well it’s their choice. They‘ll be happy anyway.
I can’t imagineer how many kids don’t
play guitar and forgot to buy an amp
You can learn guitar without an amp lol
I dont see how you forget an amp when you have $750 to spend
Noah you really dont know anything about guitars
who needs an amp these days you can buy those plug and play mini amp and plug your in ear monitors / earphones
You can learn without an amp or you can buy Rocksmith for XBox PlayStation or PC
So much respect for you bro.. You deserve the best with all of this kindness
I don’t think these kids realize how lucky they are. Jared just started the next generations of musicians. Hopefully these kids use their power the right way and carry rock on forever.
So I had quite possibly one of the worst days today and this really helped, I love this so much
I hope tomorrow is kinder to you.
@@gardenclaw6995 thanks, that means alot😌
Had quite a shitty day yesterday... But seasons come and go, and things will not always be as bad as it might be today. Much love from Norway
@@espen4330 sorry to hear that, I hope the next days treat you kinder
Good on you Jared and those who helped with this amazing project!
3:35 That kid is already so damn good at cliffs of dover, ive been playing a long while still cant handle that riff lmao
My stupid brain would be like, “big brain idea, what if I buy 20,000 picks?”
Record each kid hitting the lowest string on their guitars then edit together an epic djent collab. 😄
YESSSS
LOLLL
One word Jared..AMAZING..children's smiles are beautiful!!
Jared you are the the music santa of america!I wish there was someone like you in europe.
Get my channel going and we'll talk in a few years xD (Frank fontaine) (Delta) (Delta UpsideDown)
It's official, Jared is officially the metal brother of Mr.beast
Lmao
Yeah but beast isnt good.
@@isak8059 ye he isn't, he just gave someone a million dollars. That's really not good.
@@isak8059 yeah he isn't, he only helps poor people, he only does amazing and entertaining videos, he's only fighting climate change by opening a charity for planting trees (they hit 20 million trees a few days ago), and he only gave someone a million dollars for keeping his hand on a stack of cash.
*hE ONLY dID tHaT*
@@jonathancohen4427 1 million dollars is just like a 1 dollar to him. 😂😂😂😂
Im not the only one who cried, right?
Right?
Im not crying YOU'RE CRYING! 😫😭😫😭
Nope, here I am lol
Absolutely amazing video and an incredible thing to do by Jared and his crew. Heart-melting.. I hope they're gonna give it a second go this year :)
I hope these lucky bastards dont quit in the first month! lol. I would kill to have started out with those sick guitars
im nearly crying in my sleep😭
cried the whole video
we are such hardass metalheads aren't we?
dude... this is like... the most wholesome video I've ever seen. You're an absolute legend
5:51 i loved when this little girl played wish you were here it really took me
im guessing you mean 6:51
Thats the first full song I learned Lmao

That’s awesome! Happy holidays for you too Jared!
Damn those kids are picking up freaking Les Pauls for free like it's nothing
Edit: It's been a while since i made this comment. I still like Les Pauls, but I'm more of a Tele guy now
if its me i will take ibanez
How would you pick up a les paul? Isn't that upto 3000
@@Ani-v7k You can get Epiphone Les pauls which are much cheaper about 200-500 dollars. Epiphone are owned by Gibson but Epiphones are made much cheaper as they arent made to the same standard as the Gibson ones.
I would love to have one of my own but it’s possible for a future star to walk out of that place
they are just getting what looks cool
That kid at the end playing wish you were here by Pink Floyd made me tear up man
For real, yeah this.
FOR REAL THO
so cool!!!!
thats one luck father i hope one day i get a daughter with musical or art talent as myself
It's a great ending for the video though.
You're a wonderful person I ever met, you gave those kid an amazing opportunity to purchase good and branded guitar and you are a real musicians who wants others to seek the wonders of music. I really respects you bro.
Little girl playing pink floyd was killing it!! Children should be encouraged to be artistic. If you gave a thumbs down you would not make very good mother or father of a child!!
I didn't even know guitars exited at that age pfft.
Incredible, man. This really was a treat to watch. You got a big heart, don't ever doubt yourself. You're carving the right path for yourself.
Awesome!
Edit: If you haven't subbed to this man.... Now's a great time!
Good work Jared. What an amazing way to give back.
I feel like every kid would go for the most iconic shaped guitar, like a strat-ish shaped guitar
yeah probably
Yeah, you can see a lot of them chose strats or strat-shaped jacksons or something similar.
Pls choose les pauls
Or SG
Some went for Duo sonics, which is GREAT!
Well done Jared... well done. Loved seeing your interactions with the kids.
How can there be 50 thumbs down on this video? Coldness dwells in those 50 hearts....
Great Job Jared you just made those kids day, year and a good chance affected the rest of some of their lives! That little girl at the end, wow! Playing wish you were here at such a young age. There sure were a lot of very nice looking instruments going out the door that day and a lot of happy smiling kids as well.
Agree. Look at her face when she finishes playing. Priceless!
the like-dislike ratio was way too small. I loved the video but someone had to do it
because 80000 could have gone to a charity that would make a difference to someone's life when most of these kids will give up anyway
@@DamianDuel yes

I loved seeing the kids all going for different things, acoustic, bass as well as electric guitars! Awesome vid
Living in Argentina and seeing this video makes me want to cry but at the same time I feel good for all those kids. great video
I hope you and Guitar Store are able to do this again next year! Someone was definitely cutting onions in the kitchen...
Damn, you cried?! You're a better man than me. I'm karate, I cry on the inside.
@@BrokeAtBestMusic Technically I cried on the inside, but it still counts in my book. lol
Quite possibly the greatest TH-cam video ever. Class act. Hats off!
And still got 32 dislikes (as of writing). There are more Grinches out there than we thought. : /
This was great. Forget those trolls
This video made me really happy. It's so nice to see Jared give up his Dj0ntar for some cash and giving away that cash to give these kids an opportunity to be able to start on a really decent guitar that's not a cheap knockoff of a squire.
Henry Martino Dj0ntar 😂
Wow.... good for you bro! Absolutely amazing thing to do for our young musicians!
You're awesome Jared! Happy to see your works. And James, if my any change you get to see this comment than, man you're doing great work too... You deserve same respect as Jared. God bless you all...🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿 Happy holiday
Brother Jared massive respect for doing this!!
This wasnt his idea so dont give him too much credit
Hey Jared I don't know if you'll see this but I just want to say when you were planning on doing this it really inspired me and I ended up purchasing my friend who's family isn't as fortunate a guitar that I found on a used website for his Christmas present
That was real act of kindness. You made his Christmas a bright one. Have a great day
thansk bro have a great day too
you rock dude
Thank you :)
@caprice.t no that's not him
OMG this is beautiful. I have two kids (11 and 9) and I can only imagine the joy those kids in the shop are feeling - a lifetime with guitars begins here, all thanks to you!
5:41 nice choice, glad there's at least one :)
JARED, YOUR BEST WORK SO FAR! You did good, you did real good. You should be so proud of what you have done here. In the future we'll hear these musicians say "In 2019 Jared Dines got me started with my first guitar" YOU!! Changed so many lives. Im so glad I got to see this. Really heart warming. ❤❤❤

This is legit the most wholesome thing I have seen in a long time. So pumped to see a bunch of kids getting into guitar and that you were able to help them is amazing
Bloody Lovely - I just get so stoked that these kids are given the opportunity to play instruments, obviously some can play already, but the juice that this must have given them to get home and practice is so, so sweet..... Good on you man, you've a great heart.......
