in the minute 15;11 another think you could do to make it a little straight without the need to zremesh it again, you could go on deformation and slide the polish by groups, also it helps if you crease the polygroups and maybe do a polish by crisp edges, if you have like 6 subdvidions and the last one its too hard to make it more straight or aligned you could also go to lower subds e do the same, it helps a lot, I hve to constantly do wraps in my workflow and will defnetly use some of the tips you gave in the video! Amazing content, just discoverd your channel!
Masking would be for sculpting purposes, not just move. If you're only interesting in moving, then sure you can use move topological (mentioned under a minute later)
This is a wonderful tutorial thankyou😊, there was a little problem i was having with 2nd method, when i use dinamic subdivision on strips, distance between strips come to be too much , i tried experimenting with dinamic subdivision sliders but that doesn't work
135 million damn. first time I've seen that high poly count. most I've seen resided between 40 to 50 million. how much ram is that poly count consuming approximately?
Great tutorial! I just got one question how did you give the wrap on your character that damaged look is it manual or some kinda trick to that too? ooh and what if i wanna give edges the thread look like the one shown in your last leather strap reference? Thanks!
Mainly manual. I like to use slash brushes in the spotlight menu. Gives a cool effect for edges. For threads, I would create a mesh representing the threading and flay the edges with a "move topological" brush. "Nanomesh" could be useful for creating the pattern first.
I'm trying to follow your dynamic subdiv method, but when I merge again after I split groups, I cannot move it separately with move topological brush, it basically revert back to its original state . did I miss something?
Double check that the object is a separate piece of topology (no connections) that's how the move topoogical works. If you're still having issues, come over to our Discord and we can help you out further bit.ly/3DM_Discord

Actually was stuck today with this problem because of how strange curve strap works. Thank you
Ye, I wouldn't really use that at all. Not a great tool. :D
This was very helpful thank you! However, what is the proper way to retopo this?
Very nice, thanks for this!
7:33 you can move mesh with topology brush without selection mask

You can try turn smoothing off when subdivided so it doesn't shrink
