    I modeled a face that just happened to have a quarter view of his face, it was a character from Fire Emblem. The character was middle aged and therefore had wrinkles so I thought it was good opportunity to practice with the Clay Buildup brush. I was surprised at how good it was coming out. This video confirms that choosing a quarter view face was better than using a frontal view. Thank you!

    Great work dude! Just a kind advice - as a professional traditional artist with a lot of experience in anatomy, i suggest you take a few lessons in anatomy as well. People who want to sculpt need to realise understanding and practising anatomy in tradional way/drawing,painting/ is the best and fastest way to improve your sculpts.Especially the basics.The rest is technical knowledge. Cheers!

    • @yansculpts
      @yansculpts  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the input! You should try digital sculpting, your comment suggests this is more about digital vs traditional rather than anatomy. The medium is just a medium, you can learn anatomy through many means, I don't think traditional is always faster than digital (I've studied anatomy, both through digital sculpting and traditional drawing/ books, I don't think one is superior to the other).
      Can't compare with traditional sculpting though, personally I don't have much experience there. Also the rest isn't just technical knowledge, there are other fundamentals that matter as well, form, shape language, etc. Anatomy is one piece of the puzzle!
      That said makes me want to do another anatomy full study soon, been a while i need to brush things up. Cheers !

    • @peterstoyanov8523
      @peterstoyanov8523 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@yansculpts hey buddy,i am not saying which is better, i am trying to say that both compliment and help each other. like a symbiose... if you have great drawing skills and you are familiar with the anatomy it will help you tremendously in your digital sculpting. and the same way around.. if you are used to sculpt digitally,you will have better understanding of proportions and perspective in your drawings.

    happy to find you its inspirative what you are doing. i was thinking that blender sculpting is of no use, even efter fiding they broadened toolset and improved performance, it was still a bit clumsy to get drapery done for example, or overall smooth surfaces with fluent transitions. Anyway what i like even more is how you combine tools fo accesories, hair strands, shoe laces and so on.

    Hi Yan! Thank you for making me start digital sculpting❤ I’ve been sculpting since I’m a kid and now I’m finally getting into the 3D. I’ve been learning blender for a few months so it’s only natural that I do sculpting in it as well. My frustration is that my niche is realistic organic bodies and Zbrush seems to do it so much better… now that blender sculpting manager has been fired I feel like I need to switch to zbrush since blender sculpting won’t get the attention it needs. Your thoughts on that?🙏🏻🙏🏻

    • @MAJmufin
      @MAJmufin ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there, I know what you feel like regarding blender vs ZBrush, if you have a tablet with pen I believe they have a free or pretty cheap light version of that too. There is also ZBrush core and the free one ZBrush Core Mini which you can start with. Zbrush right now is pretty expensive so I'd try out the other ones first. I have also heard that 3D coat has some sculpting but I am not familiar with that software.
