Very few techs are going to troubleshoot problems down to the minus part problem. Nowadays they isolate a problem to the assembly level (like ECU, alternator, starter, etc. and then just replace the larger assembly. In your example they would have replaced the ECU.

Yes, this was an option if the part couldn't be sourced. But I gave the owner the part number and purchased it, and we installed it. Got it working

At around 6:50 you mentioned if 3 wires, it is generally a 5v/hall effect, that's true but to an extent, because sometimes you can have 3 wires meanwhile it is a inductive sensor where the third wire is just a shield, so just keep that in mind.

When cranking any car Bro, would it be ok to ask if you can zoom in on the tach to see if the vehicle is the type to move the tach during a crank no start, we do know that many vehicles do not move the tach these days but the ones that do, after a fix such as a bad CKP we can make a note of these vehicles in our library, provided another cranking test is accomplished to prove the point, either with a Clear Flood Mode or removing the Fuel Pump fuse, etc. After repairs on this one, it cranked for a hot second and started so not sure if this one shows a crank tach visual? thanks.
Thank you for going into the ECM for a PCB REPAIR, this one gets my highest marks DJ, much appreciated. I played the video back in slow mode to get the codes, you avoided the codes for a good reason, it appeared that the CAN was going to be the problem but it was in good working order. GOOD CALL. In a short condensed version, this would be a good CASE STUDY writeup for DDTSB Group.

Appreciate you on this one. I was just showing a tech how he can quickly do some checks before calling the ECU. This wasn't my job, he asked for my help and I was showing him how to peel back the various layers of diagnosing this vehicle. It had a whole long story behind it so when he got it started, I ran over there to get a small video of it starting and left. Thanks for all the tips. Didn't want to make the video any longer so I cut out a lot of parts.
