It's good to know that you were able to figure it out. Did you get to scope it as well to figure it out?

@@djmobileautoservices Yes we did scope it. The waveform was perfect but the peak voltage was about three tenths of a volt. At first we were thinking maybe there was a problem with the tone ring or a weak magnet in the sensor, but when removing it we saw the two o rings in the bore.

Yes and No. The knock sensor will sense that there is something wrong in the combustion chamber and send a signal to the ecu. Which will retard the engine (pinking) and so on. It can be a faulty knock sensor as well, or it's a harness issue with the knock. This is the No. The yes part is, if the timing is off. It can flag both codes to indicate that the timing is off and the sensor is getting the audible message from the engine to indicate that you have to address it

​@@djmobileautoservicesI have found that the 12v and ground connection of the crank sensor was wrong. Like pin 1 was 12v and pin3 was ground. Someone had changed the connecter with wrong wiring, but still I was getting complete RPM reading with no glitch.. Can this destroy a new Crank sensor? I have both p0335 popping immediately and P0325 after some time. No missing in the engine, only hard start some times. Usually 2nd crank it starts immediately.

@javedhossain3980 the vehicle may need to be checked to narrow down the issue. Verify the wiring at the crankshaft sensor and the cam. It's the same pinout

I informed the customer that he could rock it like this and monitor the misfire counters to see if clears up, awaiting his feedback. If not, we would get a set and install them. Its like 300k km on the injectors without being serviced.

No, you don't. Unplug the seat harness, and look for the wires going to the motor. Use the 9v battery to move the seat where you would like it to be. Switch the leads around to go the opposite way.

It's all good. You can't win them all. The customer was in the loop with every step of my process and progress. It's not about the money but I think that he felt that he shouldn't have to pay for diagnosing. Especially when I told him my fee per hour. My service isn't for everyone, and that's ok. It's the attack on my character was the tipping point. Especially when you did your best.

Yes, they are very high on the oil consumption, which prompted the client to put some oil in the engine. But seeing that the warning lights didn't want to come off and continuously kept making the beeping sound. He didn't want to take the chance to drive it home. The vehicle is over 10yrs. So things may be on their way out

Not quite following. I was called out to assess the crank no start and saw that the ecu wasn't communicating. Did some checks before I make the call on the ECU.
