- Ziricote split into 5 pieces, add a bog oak base and some stainless steel rods and you you have a creation.

@@WoodWithD I've got a 3x3x6 piece of Wengie that looks similar in grain I was hoping to try and make a couple of cigar ashtrays out of it but my band saw and I got the better of it, cutting it in half did not go as planned...

End product is as usual- stunning. Like the theme of gold on inside of all pieces and you are right. It does not detract you from the fantastic graining of the wood.

You pick some wonderful wood. I've said before I found your channel through Mike because you gifted him some amazing pieces of bog oak but you really do save the showstopper stuff for yourself. Loved watching the sander sealer be applied in real time. Just such a joy to see it come together. Thanks as always Dick! Can't wait for the next video

Seen some of your artwork in a gallery on another of your videos and wondering how much you sell?
Enough to get by and buy more nice woods and occasionally a new piece of machinery. It’s a hobby that more than pays for itself, including associated art fair costs and nice hotels when it’s for a few days away. It’s not enough to retire on and do full time though. 👍 Hope that answers your question.
Thanks. I am a 100% disabled vet and teach other vets how to turn and need funds to buy what we need. So thinking of how to change what I am turning to make the funds we need and you answered my question
@@arlineastman based in the USOFA? BIGGEST earners and sellers for me are off centre bowls and small bowls 5’’ across, with rim embellishment.
Great friend of mine in US sells tons of turned birdhouses (learn your hole sizes for the types of birds you want to house/nest, and Biscuit bowls.
Hope that helps and best of luck with the teachings. As you likely know, two most important things are shape (uniqueness) and finished (not polly! 😉)
