Really interesting bit of wood, I’ve never heard of a gall. Loved the staining for a nice simple change from gilding. Nice to see an appearance from the best bike in the world 😉🙂

Compared to the other pieces you have made, this is a very simple bowl, but that in itself is what makes it beautiful. You allowed the natural features of the wood to shine through. Well done 👍👍👍. Thank you for sharing. Be safe 🇨🇦

They didn’t realise I was giving it back to them. Once I’d turned camera off they handed it back and I said no, it’s for you! Wish I’d caught their reaction on camera! Was priceless!
Sanding sealer BEFORE superglue and dye!... why did I not know this! 🤣 still watching... oh wow they really were pleased as they should be it is beautiful!
I like to live by the principle of learning something new everyday! Before I figured this out a few years ago, certain woods would stain (as I call it) from the superglue, where the glue seeps into the solid wood and is impossible to sand out without turning it out! Either that or glue the whole surface then sand back, which takes ages and the superglue fumes are horrid!

Best bit of it was the fact the blue wasn't uniform made it even better, great job Richard!
I don’t think that was my application method, more the wood density and way the grain ran - just lucky I think 🤣👍
