This gun is very good in Gambit. Pre-stacking the buff and invade is a thing of beauty.
I do the same thing with Sturm and Drang in Gambit, just for the memes. Get an ungodly number of Drang kills, then invade with Sturm hehehe

YEEEEES! This man knows what's up. Hell yeah I love Symmetry for Gambit. At x20 charge, the AoE: massive. The tracking: aggressive. And the damage: 2 taps. Even as a scout rifle, it performs well.
I'm still salty they got rid of the overload effect on the Revolution mode because of a "bug".

They should've left it then gave Tommy's matchbook staggering as a perk so all 3 season pass weapons would have a champion function

No, you're spot on. A shame, cause now there's no way bungie can buff skyburners without it either being outclassed by symmetry or outclassing it. It needs a rework imo, and that means it's even *less* likely to get changed

Agreed sky burners only has the fun factor but has zero viability in pvp whatsoever
EpicGamerzFail skyburner is already inconsequential now that you can put “armor piercing rounds” on other weapons as a mod.
I found your channel about a week ago and I think your reviews of exotics are great. They take into consideration casual play and just how fun guns are instead of getting hung up on how optimal they are in an endgame setting like a raid. Keep up the good work.

I used it last season to grind out the kills for randys. I found it quite competitive without the perk and it teaches you how to use randys when you unlock it
if I was able to use this gun in nightfall against overload or unstoppable champions then I would use it more other than that. I have no reason to use a exotic scout rifle that takes up the energy slot
I used it a while ago in pvp to get Randy's. It was worth it and i got more kills off it than my Randy's
It used to stagger unstoppables, but for some reason bungo took that perk away and gave it to devil's ruin in an effort to make the sidearm more viable

Its too bad this gun is useless. It could have been something with anti champ ability still on it, but bungie decided that making a useful gun isnt in their design philosophy.

The fact that auto rifles or hand cannons can duel with a scout rifle at range is ridiculous. Bungie......this is the weapons range template: (1) snipers long range must be stationary ....jumping in the air scoping in and shooting is B.S. (2) Scout rifles longest range (hand cannons and autos should get killed at range NOT compete (3) Pulse rifles overlap with scouts and into auto range (4) auto rifles medium to short range (5) hand cannons SHORT range to low medium.....a hand cannon should NEVER out duel a scout of pulse rifle at range.......Unfortunately Bungie doesn’t follow this at all and hand cannons can compete with all weapons except at the very longest ranges.....Needs a major revamp so that each weapon has a defined usage/range sweet spot where it is dominant over another. My rant for the day.

Amazing gun in trials this last weekend. Used the standard fire to challenge snipes, build stacks amd get picks then swapped modes and hipfired from the air while we collapsed on the orb
should have keep the mod effect on this weapon to make it unique.
I did not mind the weapon when it was out, got the catalyst. It's pretty good!.
I’m not much of a PvP player but Symmetry was amazing for me when I played last seasons Iron Banner. It was able to knock out the catalyst on that gun just playing IB lol. I haven’t used it this season so maybe your experience is from using the gun in this sandbox but last season I had a blast using the weapon. Of course it’s great in PvE (although like I said I had used in more in PvP) so no disagreements there.
I love the gun since the season of dawn trailer, unfortunately, on pve I cannot use it because it does nothing to champions, and I have to use either eriana's vow or divinity :S
I'm shocked you didn't include a Gambit section here. You can stack up Revolution freely against adds, then clear a wave single-handedly or be ready for invaders with your hip-fired, automatic grenade launcher that tracks from across the map. They are NEVER prepared for what Symmetry can do to them.

Phil Meeks or if you use it with a damage boosting perk like rampage or titan and warlock buffs
You can curve shots around corners like with Truth by yanking your aim off of a target when you shoot, not useful but it’s fun
Did they finally fix the full auto bug? I haven't used it in while...
In PvP I find the seeker mode useful for flushing out enemies who think they're in cover at long range. Since it's a primary, you can just spam shots if someone decides to hide in a back room or something.

I feel that this gun is highly underrated. Super good in pve and pvp imo. Maybe just console, but it melts with or without the buff

I love scout rifles but I prefer mida or my favorite scout, the jade rabbit. To me the jade rabbit is just so crisp and I guess if you practice with it enough you get to know its ranges better and how to counter shotgun apes. Now I mainly use hard light (gee wonder why) but if I'm ever getting frustrated because my opponent is using a ranged gun, I hop onto jade rabbit and it seems to throw people off their game
I use this in comp and it has been fantastic. I typically play a chip damage role and do not play very aggressively. This gun is extremely annoying when going against a passive player because they can flank and get a couple of shots quickly and dip out. I pair it with an auto rifle for 1v1 scenarios, but if someone wants to push me I typically run away. Better gun than you think, just doesn’t promote an aggressive play style.

I loved this gun in pvp but im on console. Shit took over for a while especially if you didnt have randy but i was more consistant with symmetry.
I never ever feel like using scouts, they feel too weak and there is no room for them between snipers and hand cannons. Even 360 ARs creep into their room.
I only really have one idea for them, take a page from Xenophage's books and have them hit like a truck on the body at the cost of poor precision modifiers. This would not help their TTK but would allow map control and team work without a need for special ammo. Finding the right damage numbers would be a very tough job though.
It's a hard shot, I know, but there is no other scenario I see scouts being viable.
edit: not to mention pulse rifles

As much as I wanna agree with your opinion in PvP, Randy’s Throwing Knife, which is in the same archetype as Symmetry, is actually quite a competitive choice. Granted, Symmetry won’t get as much mileage out of Revolution, but it’s still a competitive mid-to-long range option. There are few people that can use snipers to pop off a headshot when flinching, and full auto 260 scouts actually make challenging snipers safer than normal due to that flinch... unless they’re using Revoker, of course. :/

I think the grind for the catalyst is not worth it. I have to say it’s good for clearing adds tho.

Scout rifles were good in season of undying, that was a scout meta as hand cannons had just been nerfed

A solid weapon, actually really like using it - paired with a well-rolled Perfect paradox it's a solid loadout, as for heavy? Wendigo, Delirium, curated Bellowing Giant/Bad Omens, well rolled Pyroclastic Flow etc etc.

Jade rabbit and skyburner needs a rework imo.
This weapon is just a better version of skyburners oath in every way. Because sky burners really needed another nerf, now there is *literally* 0 reason to use it since symmetry can do everything skyburners does, but better. I guess maybe if you want solar damage use skyburners, but still: bungie why you make an upgraded skyburners?

I would argue that explosive payload scouts are fairly good in PvP.

My only complaint with this weapon is that reload speed. If i was going to use all the time, i 100% would get enhanced scout reloader gauntlets.

Its good but what he said about scout rifles also applies to randy's. If you miss 1 crit the gun already drops off significantly and this is coming from someone who has used randy's almost exclusively since it was released. I have switched to suros for curcible this season because randy's just cant compete against hardlight suros and other auto rifles. Its just something with scouts entirely that feel off
@@EliteEpicGamerz I do partially agree and for close med range Randy will loose every time, longer range I will keep Randy handy (lol). My most common load out is Randy/Hardlight
Since this season so far don't have any interesting and worthwhile pve content, I'm grinding crucible weapons.
Randy turned out disappointing and perks are average at most. I did the quest with full auto Patron of lost causes and it is much better gun. Higher damage and range, faster reload, more snappy feeling, also better for pve.

With the catalyst, you can get up to 915% more damage.

The last 5 stack give you crazy damage in pve but no benefit in pvp
"Scout rifles aren't viable in D2 Crucible" cut to me getting a quad kill with a nighwatch. Scout rifles will best any weapon at the same range.

I used it to get the catalyst and all that. It is a decent weapon. For me it feels like I cannot hit consistently with it. Like it has a slight bloom effect on the shots. I also just do not like its firing sound. It sounds weak
Too bad it’s just another gimmick weapon. If it had champion rounds it might have been worth it.

I have it but I don't use it, in PVE I just like recluse more for energy primary weapon. Yeah it's range is better, but it's damage and trash mob clear is nothing compared to recluse.
Only reason I use this is for fun factor.
