I think I’d be more willing to use swords if the tactile feedback wasn’t so...weak? Because a huge part of the reason I used Razelighter a lot in Destiny 1 was because it *sounded* powerful. Swords in Destiny 2 just feel like I’m hitting tin cans together.
Yeah, that's why one of the reasons I only used swords in PvP when I played. They just made a "tink" sound that felt weak but it was off-putting bc you got a kill.

I remember being called to stubborn in D1 raids because I always wanted to find ways to make Razelighter work instead of whatever the meta loadout was because that weapon felt so good to use. I aesthetic was cool, the sound was powerful, and warlock skating is up there in my favorite "mechanics" to enjoy. Still yelling at Shaxx to give me back that sword
Your speech at the end about trying out swords and reaching moments of perfection could be applied for trying something new and different for everything. I deleted every sword that wasn’t exotic that came my way before this; now I’ll find a decent role and try them out again. Consider it a success, for that amazing speech.
If you play hunter, go get yourself a Goldtusk from Menagerie heroic, I use one with relentless strikes + whirlwind blade with a disruption mod, it's so SO fun to use, and very good.
Bows aren't bad though, they are super competitive since one little hit puts people one shot to anything, and you can duck in and out of cover using it.
@@DanieIQP that's when you pair it with another primary, get them one shot with a bow, then switch to a high handling weapon instantly. Sure this doesn't work too well against snipers, but there is no one weapon that counters every scenario by itself
I have enjoyed using bows but always go back to using my spare rations that has full bore, armour piercing rounds, auto-loading holster and swashbuckler with a range masterwork.
My main arsenal is Le Monarque, I admire that tool. If it had a kill counter It would be 100k something. Never dropped from the backpack since it drop.
When you say swords don’t do the most damage, with a tractor cannon or hammer strike/ melting point with whirlwind blade and spamming light attacks in fact, is one of the highest DPS in the game.
I already loved sword at the start of this game, and since the new update to swords came I love them more, I also encourage people to use swords. If you have it, try strikers sure hand

We are inundated by analysis and opinions focused on the new but same metas, different variations of the same perk builds using the same slideshot, rampage, full choke rotation. My dream loadout of Handcannon/Bow/Sword is finally coming into play. Not only that I did Heroic Menagerie for the first time yesterday and got Goldtusk with Surrounded and Relentless Strikes, it's fun, flashy, requires a lot of precision on my part and overall makes me feel very involved in the PvE content, perfectly keeping up my up my damage buffs and getting into the rhythm of every draw, that weighty feeling of Eriana's Vow and lining up precision shot after shot trying to see if I can land the whole mag without dropping the buff. Overall I'm having a lot of fun with my clan this season.
There are plenty of totally valid arguments to be made against using swords in anything, but I don't care because they're fun to use and last I checked, that's what I play videogames for.
Random strat I had 2 years ago, if you slide and then marksman dodge the opposite direction in a lateral move you keep going and you can close the space easily. It's harder to pull off on people who expect it but otherwise, it's really helpful
I haven't played 2 since a bit after Osiris came out and didn't play 1 past TTK, but that ending bit reminded me of my build where I was a Stormcaller that used a supercell and just had a blast shredding enemies with it.
This is a very good mentality to have for destiny and gaming in general. Not getting your first three wins on a trials challenge card a endlessly resetting; making it more difficult for less competitive players to enjoy the new mode. Thanks for the video.

I had been using "It Stared Back" since back in Curse of Osiris until I switched recently to using Steel Sybil Z-14 so I could start using the Sword Mods this season. I enjoy them just for the variety of actions.
Just realized that every sword in destiny 1 is in d2. Raze Lighter's heavy attack is in most basic swords, Dark Drinker is reimagined in the hunter only swords, and the last one is reimagined in the new sword projectile exotic. And YWH is in the sword from heroic menagerie

I love swords with the new update, I’ve been using black Talon again and recently have gotten it masterworked and it works wonders. My Fireteam of three using this sword killed this weeks nightfall in his second faze, swords are amazing and really take time to master them and use them affectively.
Honestly, I loved using swords ever since they existed, and I used quickfang for the longest time. I managed to get 1million damage with just quickfang on a raid boss, with everyone else getting barely half of that
I made a sword build thats gives you massive damage resistance, its so fun seeing NF bosses barely deal any mellee damage to you, even stomps deal way less damage. Before that my sword build generated a crazy amount of orbs, in one strike I gend over 120 orbs. Now i kinda mixed the two builds, big tankeyness for a little less orb gen for teammates
I started to farm menagerie just to get Deaths Razor, I got it and i’ve been messing around with it and you’re right, it is so much fun to use them now!!!
well, the thing is as sweet as you make swords sound. the ammo reserves are nothing to write home about and the stomp mechanics on tougher enemies is still there and in most conditions, it'll on shot you. so as soon as Bungie finds a way around those two core issues the viability of swords is restored alongside.

I have been using swords a lot in this season but that's more because I needed an overload weapon but still wanted to use 4th horseman, seeing this video makes me think I'll put on stronghold for a while and grind out a whirlwind sure-hand, my surrounded sword can have the bench for a bit.
Dude, I missed your videos. They are so good. You didn't convince me to use swords. I was already using them this season because of how much fun they are. They are awesome in the seraph public event, legendary lost sectors and against champions in the nightfall. The sword artifact mods make it even better. I've been loving running swords along with a really cool warmind cell build. I understand a lot of the frustration of the community about how there isn't that much content this season but some of them saying it haven't even tried out a warmind cell build and just running whatever they were running for the past year. How is it Bungie's fault if players won't interact or experiment with new builds and the new sandbox.
I have been using them non stop... they may not have as much burst damage as before (bc u cant spam heavy attacks), but their sustained overall damage with comboing heavy attacks and an infinite string of light attacks is not only very effective (I actually ran the numbers is not even close to being bad-actuappy is kinda good) and is EXTREMELY FUN
Actually swords were introduced before the taken king, in the Dark bellow dlc you could for a short time use swords on patrols, story missions or on crotas end.
Literally almost every perk on swords was nerfed and no more sword skating, but i get to hack and slash till i run out of ammo. This has been the worst deal in the history of deals.
I've kept a sword in the power weapon slot since I first started playing. Yeah, grenade launchers, rocket launchers, and machine guns are nice... but swords are more personal and were of some use even AFTER running out of ammo. You could whack with an empty sword and still take out enemies... and those whacks count as melee kills for bounties. :D
def been feeling swords since i started playing around with them more during the seraph tower. i think of swords as a great option for add clear in surrounded type situations. it used to be just forcing wendigo or a machine gun but i think swords are a lil more efficient. now we need to find a use for rocket launchers again....

You can pretty much go infinite with swords with 2 sword ammo finder and 2 sword scavenger. And then I run dual snipers with max sniper reserves. And double recuperation on my class item with a master worked sword with tireless blade. It’s pretty darn fun.
Throne Cleaver, as far as I know, actually has the highest DPS in the entire game as of right now, and Adaptive frame swords aren't very far behind. Swords are the BEST boss damage option as long as you have a bubble or well/rift to stand in, and if you don't, you just need to block a boss stomp here or there. Whirlwind Blade is a seriously good perk, and Swords are currently pretty nuts. The only time you shouldn't use a sword is if the boss you're fighting is going to 1-stomp you, like a 1030 nightmare hunt, or if a sword physically cannot work, like the Sanctified Mind.
When I’m just running around having fun I run an autoloading holster firing line tranquility, a demo every waking moment, and black talon with the catalyst, and top tree void lock with nezarec. It’s the most fun I’ve had in a game in quite some time.
I cannot take off the Black Talon! I don't have any legendary swords though. Maybe make a video on the best sword perks? Where to grind for swords? I agree, especially with the mods on the artifact, tis the season of the sword!
Ive had a steel sybil in my heavy since the vex offensive and cutting down rows of enemies is so much fun but I had no Idea the of changes since my sybils fun factor wasn't changed.
Funny enough, swords are actually top tier DPS now. A few weapons have slightly more DPS, but swords (especially the hunter and Titan sword) have bonkers DPS and incredibly high total damage
Yeah, but no joke though. I needed a Void sword and I had a void one drop. I needed it to solo a part of the Shattered Throne. I was amazed at how well even the rare blue sword does. The "fun" is why my favorite perk on a sword is Assassins Blade. I've gotten one Striker's Surehand and realized I don't want another roll. It's got surrounded and assassins blade. I can tear through enemies and be moving so quick after it that I can tear through the trash mobs, get that movement boost, and slice the cabal floofy boy outta the air before he can fire a shot. it's stupid fun.
The thing that annoys me is that even though spamming sword uppercuts was usually the highest DPS you could get out of a sword, aerial light + heavy spam got much more value for the ammo consumption and would arguably match DPS because there's no cooldown except for how quickly you can jump again. Of course though, it's not as brainless as uppercut spam but it's still been left alone even though it is now by far and away the most efficient way to deal big target damage with swords since if you spam lights you'll eventually swing past your target, wasting ammo. Swords have BEEN broken for DPS targets on the ground but have never been used because people are scared off by stomp mechanics and the healing support needed by a gracelock or lumina users.
I wanted to give swords a try and I found a good synergy Goldtusk in my vault and I actually had a blast trying it out.... The damage I think feels better and with the new changes I feel motivated to try them out, understand how the perks work and see what is best
Use Titan with stronghold/any sword I use black talon So I can destroy things like shriekers in 1 hit from range. Then put on double sword ammo finder on helm with double sword scavenger on boots, and passive guard from artifact on Mark with recuperate(heals a big chunk of hp on orb of light pickup which masterworked sword will be dropping ALL the time). Go destroy everything in your path. I’ve run this build in everything I could all nightfalls that been up this season and this build just skates through enemies if your good with timed blocks, and can just spam down bosses with the sword. With the mods above I’ve almost never run out of ammo and been able to use the sword the entire runs without swapping off of them.
I want to use swords but I want to use anarchy, right now I just got it after my 600 something raid completion and I am finding it a lot of fun, I think mostly because it has been so elusive to me. Once I have used that gun a bit more I’ll use some swords and have fun with them
BEEN SAYING THIS SINCE THEY FIXED WHIRLWIND BLADE SOME SEASONS AGO! THAT AND SURROUNDED. Like seriously. They counter stomps, have TONS of sustained DPS and total damage. They can be used to dodge, block, and even save yourself if you got flung off a ledge, make you hella surviveable if you pack mods that heal you on orb pickup (tip, use a masterworked sword), and look dope as fuck.
I love swords now days i keep my stryker sure hand on me all the time. These sword changes are amazing. And i understand what you are saying. I really do. People need to stop taking this game so seriously and enjoy it. Melting a boss, putting up a great kd or completing that nf as fast as possible isnt all this game has to offer. Step back mix it up and have fun. One of my favorite moments so far in this season is when i was at the fanatic boss fight and he spawned a bunch of enemies on me and went in there with a sword a light attacked like a madman. I was doing mass ad clear with the light attack of a sword. It was so fun and caught off guard and i loved it. Those are the moments i look for in this game. Im going to continue to swords. Im glad you get it Patrick so i know im not alone.

Nice to see that the game is still going. I am a huge fan of this game, but due to the lack of free time and consistency, I could never join a team and complete a raid, so i had to quit.
If I was to complain about anything with the sword changes it would be that I find myself phasing through enemies at an alarming rate whenever I spamm sword swings
I will have to admit that I put a sword into my hunter when the season started and it’s still there..it’s fun to use and though the numbers say less damage, I feel like I’m doing more...also that autorifle/4horseman/sword load out looks like a blast..will be using it today. Thanks
I'll probably give swords a try again but I wish I could get back my dark drinker and swords could hold around 90 ammo again, then I'd be satisfied, but until then I don't think swords will scratch that same itch they did in D1, where I could just use dark drinker the entire strike and challenge myself to kill the strike boss sword only. Even if I did run out of ammo in D1 since heavy synths existed I could just get max ammo instantly again (still mad Bungie isn't bringing them back) I'd also love to see the ability to reflect enemy projectiles come back now that we could actually utilize it for more than one measly enemy attack. EDIT it would also be nice to see classes other than titan get exotics that enhance swords.

This is nice and all but I think my recluse can do a better job at clearing groups of ennemies than a sword. As for majors, recluse works very well, and so does izanagi
As a person who loved sword before the change, i really love them now !, my biggest concern was can i till one phase vorgeth in shattered throne ?, the answer ?, i did it with throne cleaver, not that it is a bad sword but i always did it with my Steel Sybil and it always worked but i wanted to try another sword, from a person who is always criticizing bungie for the decisions they made since the taken king, i can say that i loved this change ! sword now amazing !
I think this can apply to any weapon in Destiny. I have a few weapons I like to use without the perfect combination of perks. Why do I like them?Because using god-rolls has gotten boring. I will always like Breakneck as a weapon more than Recluse, even though it will never have as much DPS, even with Recluse in its post-nerf state. Why? Because Breakneck requires investment. Not only is the quest longer and harder, so it feels more rewarding to earn, but one has to work to get the weapon to its ultimate state. Recluse only requires 1 kill to get its full damage buff, and any other weapon can activate it. Breakneck requires 3 kills and a specific mod to get it close to Recluse. Breakneck requires skill, just like any other weapon with a good-but-not-top-tier roll. It feels more rewarding to use, like you actually earn its buffed state.
pat (can i call you that?) i got a surrounded sword (the new one) and i've been playing hack and slash every now and then since then, just now waiting for a whirlwind blade one so that i can see if i like that more for beefy mobs (surrounded aint great for champions but whirlwind might be). i hope you convinced some people, i deleted everything before this change, because swords (except the exotics) were simply no fun to use as they punished you for trying to use them as add clear by stopping you from attacking and weren't great against high tier because of meh burst damage with non specific perks.
I just wish there was raid bosses like D1 where there was one or two players with a dedicated role that wasn't dps, where it was viable to equip the Titan exotic with a sword to gain aggro for a normally instakill attack I stopped playing D2 because I miss those hero moments from D1, even the little things like being able to solo the cannons in Wrath, or calling out the phases on Vosik Last Wish and the introduction of a "Healer" warlock class gave me hope that D2 would be heading in that direction and these sword changes do as well, I just want Destiny to hurry up and fully embrace the MMO genre
I have no idea what the sword perk descriptions even mean with the new energy system. Eg "Tireless Blade - sword ammo granted for every other powered sword kill", are the new lights attacks "powered"?
I was wondering when people will get around to talking about swords! (There isn't many atm), as for which sword i'm using? Black Talon. It literally is more ammo efficient and does more damage than Izanagi nowadays discounting in master nightfalls where the champion is on the otherside of the room and you have 2 izanagis and 1 divinity user. Do 2 heavy attacks back to back at full sword energy and watch the damage, it's actually insane. This thing has become my fav weapon in the game. I always liked black talon but had no urge to use it. After the sword buff? *Insert evil laugh here*, it's fantastic, plus the infinite light attacks help in scenarios where heavy attacks aren't necessary. I always carry it on my back in the tower just cause I now love this sword.
Swords are so awesome!!! I have friends ask me from time to time why I’m using black talon and all I have to say is I have so much fun with it. Definitely not as effective as a x4 izzi but I can clear the mobs to make sure they don’t flinch their snipes and when the mobs are dead I go in for my heavy attack and maybe swap to a 1-2 punch shotty then back to a sword for a few lights and a heavy and really just try to match my friends damage. I just really wish I wasn’t constantly being slammed back by bosses. It really sucks not being able to play up close and personal with most powerful enemies. But overall I love this game and I can’t wait to see what comes from this studio. I just wish they had more people and the funds to do everything they want.
I do honestly love swords, especially black talon. It fills that fantasy of bringing a sword to a gunfight and winning. But the new sword changes literally goes from spamming R2 to spamming R1. If it truly made swords more interesting I’d be happy With the changes. But it’s just an overall nerf to a play-style I used to love.

I use an arc claymore looking sword from the forges. Feels nice.

There are only 2 exotic swords, and one of them is gotten through a collection-esque question on Mars.

I have been using them non stop... they may not have as much burst damage as before (bc u cant spam heavy attacks), but their sustained overall damage with comboing heavy attacks and an infinite string of light attacks is not only very effective (I actually ran the numbers is not even close to being bad-actuappy is kinda good) and is EXTREMELY FUN

Actually swords were introduced before the taken king, in the Dark bellow dlc you could for a short time use swords on patrols, story missions or on crotas end.
Crownsplitter has never left my titans back. It's too fun.
I love that Bungie can fine tune and highlight certain weapons and archetypes by the weapons and artifact in the season pass.

Literally almost every perk on swords was nerfed and no more sword skating, but i get to hack and slash till i run out of ammo. This has been the worst deal in the history of deals.
I've kept a sword in the power weapon slot since I first started playing. Yeah, grenade launchers, rocket launchers, and machine guns are nice... but swords are more personal and were of some use even AFTER running out of ammo. You could whack with an empty sword and still take out enemies... and those whacks count as melee kills for bounties. :D
def been feeling swords since i started playing around with them more during the seraph tower. i think of swords as a great option for add clear in surrounded type situations. it used to be just forcing wendigo or a machine gun but i think swords are a lil more efficient. now we need to find a use for rocket launchers again....
They're also really good against overload champions. Even light attacks seem to stun the enemies.

You can pretty much go infinite with swords with 2 sword ammo finder and 2 sword scavenger. And then I run dual snipers with max sniper reserves. And double recuperation on my class item with a master worked sword with tireless blade. It’s pretty darn fun.
Throne Cleaver, as far as I know, actually has the highest DPS in the entire game as of right now, and Adaptive frame swords aren't very far behind. Swords are the BEST boss damage option as long as you have a bubble or well/rift to stand in, and if you don't, you just need to block a boss stomp here or there. Whirlwind Blade is a seriously good perk, and Swords are currently pretty nuts. The only time you shouldn't use a sword is if the boss you're fighting is going to 1-stomp you, like a 1030 nightmare hunt, or if a sword physically cannot work, like the Sanctified Mind.
When I’m just running around having fun I run an autoloading holster firing line tranquility, a demo every waking moment, and black talon with the catalyst, and top tree void lock with nezarec. It’s the most fun I’ve had in a game in quite some time.
I cannot take off the Black Talon! I don't have any legendary swords though. Maybe make a video on the best sword perks? Where to grind for swords? I agree, especially with the mods on the artifact, tis the season of the sword!
Ive had a steel sybil in my heavy since the vex offensive and cutting down rows of enemies is so much fun but I had no Idea the of changes since my sybils fun factor wasn't changed.

I have always used swords now they are so munch better. I have got my friends useing them too. They have always been fun to use!
Funny enough, swords are actually top tier DPS now. A few weapons have slightly more DPS, but swords (especially the hunter and Titan sword) have bonkers DPS and incredibly high total damage
Yeah, but no joke though. I needed a Void sword and I had a void one drop. I needed it to solo a part of the Shattered Throne. I was amazed at how well even the rare blue sword does.
The "fun" is why my favorite perk on a sword is Assassins Blade. I've gotten one Striker's Surehand and realized I don't want another roll. It's got surrounded and assassins blade. I can tear through enemies and be moving so quick after it that I can tear through the trash mobs, get that movement boost, and slice the cabal floofy boy outta the air before he can fire a shot. it's stupid fun.
The thing that annoys me is that even though spamming sword uppercuts was usually the highest DPS you could get out of a sword, aerial light + heavy spam got much more value for the ammo consumption and would arguably match DPS because there's no cooldown except for how quickly you can jump again. Of course though, it's not as brainless as uppercut spam but it's still been left alone even though it is now by far and away the most efficient way to deal big target damage with swords since if you spam lights you'll eventually swing past your target, wasting ammo. Swords have BEEN broken for DPS targets on the ground but have never been used because people are scared off by stomp mechanics and the healing support needed by a gracelock or lumina users.
I wanted to give swords a try and I found a good synergy Goldtusk in my vault and I actually had a blast trying it out.... The damage I think feels better and with the new changes I feel motivated to try them out, understand how the perks work and see what is best
Use Titan with stronghold/any sword I use black talon So I can destroy things like shriekers in 1 hit from range. Then put on double sword ammo finder on helm with double sword scavenger on boots, and passive guard from artifact on Mark with recuperate(heals a big chunk of hp on orb of light pickup which masterworked sword will be dropping ALL the time). Go destroy everything in your path.
I’ve run this build in everything I could all nightfalls that been up this season and this build just skates through enemies if your good with timed blocks, and can just spam down bosses with the sword.
With the mods above I’ve almost never run out of ammo and been able to use the sword the entire runs without swapping off of them.
Fun Fact:
When geting launched by a boss stomp, you can _parry the wall_ to negate the impact damage.
or just light attack to compleatly stop your momentum and even get closer to the boss again

I want to use swords but I want to use anarchy, right now I just got it after my 600 something raid completion and I am finding it a lot of fun, I think mostly because it has been so elusive to me. Once I have used that gun a bit more I’ll use some swords and have fun with them
I've always loved using swords, even before any changes. Players probably thought I was a noob, but I don't care.
BEEN SAYING THIS SINCE THEY FIXED WHIRLWIND BLADE SOME SEASONS AGO! THAT AND SURROUNDED.
Like seriously. They counter stomps, have TONS of sustained DPS and total damage. They can be used to dodge, block, and even save yourself if you got flung off a ledge, make you hella surviveable if you pack mods that heal you on orb pickup (tip, use a masterworked sword), and look dope as fuck.

I love swords now days i keep my stryker sure hand on me all the time. These sword changes are amazing. And i understand what you are saying. I really do. People need to stop taking this game so seriously and enjoy it. Melting a boss, putting up a great kd or completing that nf as fast as possible isnt all this game has to offer. Step back mix it up and have fun. One of my favorite moments so far in this season is when i was at the fanatic boss fight and he spawned a bunch of enemies on me and went in there with a sword a light attacked like a madman. I was doing mass ad clear with the light attack of a sword. It was so fun and caught off guard and i loved it. Those are the moments i look for in this game. Im going to continue to swords. Im glad you get it Patrick so i know im not alone.

Nice to see that the game is still going. I am a huge fan of this game, but due to the lack of free time and consistency, I could never join a team and complete a raid, so i had to quit.
Not just swords, I hope this video encourages people to try new weapons overall.
Since the patch, swords have been my go to heavy, I’m using sword like a primary a lot of the time.

If I was to complain about anything with the sword changes it would be that I find myself phasing through enemies at an alarming rate whenever I spamm sword swings
I will have to admit that I put a sword into my hunter when the season started and it’s still there..it’s fun to use and though the numbers say less damage, I feel like I’m doing more...also that autorifle/4horseman/sword load out looks like a blast..will be using it today.

I'll probably give swords a try again but I wish I could get back my dark drinker and swords could hold around 90 ammo again, then I'd be satisfied, but until then I don't think swords will scratch that same itch they did in D1, where I could just use dark drinker the entire strike and challenge myself to kill the strike boss sword only. Even if I did run out of ammo in D1 since heavy synths existed I could just get max ammo instantly again (still mad Bungie isn't bringing them back) I'd also love to see the ability to reflect enemy projectiles come back now that we could actually utilize it for more than one measly enemy attack. EDIT it would also be nice to see classes other than titan get exotics that enhance swords.

This is nice and all but I think my recluse can do a better job at clearing groups of ennemies than a sword. As for majors, recluse works very well, and so does izanagi
As a person who loved sword before the change, i really love them now !, my biggest concern was can i till one phase vorgeth in shattered throne ?, the answer ?, i did it with throne cleaver, not that it is a bad sword but i always did it with my Steel Sybil and it always worked but i wanted to try another sword, from a person who is always criticizing bungie for the decisions they made since the taken king, i can say that i loved this change ! sword now amazing !
I think this can apply to any weapon in Destiny. I have a few weapons I like to use without the perfect combination of perks. Why do I like them?Because using god-rolls has gotten boring. I will always like Breakneck as a weapon more than Recluse, even though it will never have as much DPS, even with Recluse in its post-nerf state. Why? Because Breakneck requires investment. Not only is the quest longer and harder, so it feels more rewarding to earn, but one has to work to get the weapon to its ultimate state. Recluse only requires 1 kill to get its full damage buff, and any other weapon can activate it. Breakneck requires 3 kills and a specific mod to get it close to Recluse. Breakneck requires skill, just like any other weapon with a good-but-not-top-tier roll. It feels more rewarding to use, like you actually earn its buffed state.

pat (can i call you that?) i got a surrounded sword (the new one) and i've been playing hack and slash every now and then since then, just now waiting for a whirlwind blade one so that i can see if i like that more for beefy mobs (surrounded aint great for champions but whirlwind might be).
i hope you convinced some people, i deleted everything before this change, because swords (except the exotics) were simply no fun to use as they punished you for trying to use them as add clear by stopping you from attacking and weren't great against high tier because of meh burst damage with non specific perks.
Boltcaster was a helluva weapon at the time
If anyone wants a good sword, the perk en garde is the best dps, but whirlwind blade is good for overall DPS over time.

I just wish there was raid bosses like D1 where there was one or two players with a dedicated role that wasn't dps, where it was viable to equip the Titan exotic with a sword to gain aggro for a normally instakill attack
I stopped playing D2 because I miss those hero moments from D1, even the little things like being able to solo the cannons in Wrath, or calling out the phases on Vosik
Last Wish and the introduction of a "Healer" warlock class gave me hope that D2 would be heading in that direction and these sword changes do as well, I just want Destiny to hurry up and fully embrace the MMO genre
Worldliness zero is so good now. The defensive ability is crazy.
I have no idea what the sword perk descriptions even mean with the new energy system. Eg "Tireless Blade - sword ammo granted for every other powered sword kill", are the new lights attacks "powered"?
powered just means "while you have sword ammo". it is to prevent getting infinite ammo.

I was wondering when people will get around to talking about swords! (There isn't many atm), as for which sword i'm using? Black Talon. It literally is more ammo efficient and does more damage than Izanagi nowadays discounting in master nightfalls where the champion is on the otherside of the room and you have 2 izanagis and 1 divinity user. Do 2 heavy attacks back to back at full sword energy and watch the damage, it's actually insane.
This thing has become my fav weapon in the game. I always liked black talon but had no urge to use it. After the sword buff? *Insert evil laugh here*, it's fantastic, plus the infinite light attacks help in scenarios where heavy attacks aren't necessary. I always carry it on my back in the tower just cause I now love this sword.
Izzet Valks i was playing comp and got this sword and it's catalyst one of the only heavy weapons i use apart from hammerhead

Just to throw out there, worldline zero can block most of a super in pve and can reliably kill titans in their bubble.

Swords are so awesome!!! I have friends ask me from time to time why I’m using black talon and all I have to say is I have so much fun with it. Definitely not as effective as a x4 izzi but I can clear the mobs to make sure they don’t flinch their snipes and when the mobs are dead I go in for my heavy attack and maybe swap to a 1-2 punch shotty then back to a sword for a few lights and a heavy and really just try to match my friends damage. I just really wish I wasn’t constantly being slammed back by bosses. It really sucks not being able to play up close and personal with most powerful enemies. But overall I love this game and I can’t wait to see what comes from this studio. I just wish they had more people and the funds to do everything they want.

I do honestly love swords, especially black talon. It fills that fantasy of bringing a sword to a gunfight and winning. But the new sword changes literally goes from spamming R2 to spamming R1. If it truly made swords more interesting I’d be happy With the changes. But it’s just an overall nerf to a play-style I used to love.
