    After watching this, as great as it is I decided I was going to pay for a repair so I went to the Bose website and opened a repair case. Wouldn't you believe it - my several years old QC35 was still covered by warranty and a few days ago my brand new free replacement QC45 arrived - yes, not only a free repair but a free upgrade!

      After reading this comment i looked at bose's website too - got the same! Thank you so much for posting this comment.

      Thank you! I’ve just found out that mine are also covered under this “warranty” and they’ve emailed me a prepaid label to send my QC 35s back for a pair of 45s! I literally only searched for this video because I noticed my 35s sitting on a shelf gathering dust and thought I’d finally look up a guide on how to fix it myself. Bose quoted me around £200 a few years ago when I asked them about getting them fixed out of warranty. This has made my evening honestly.

      Thank you for posting this comment. I had been in contact with Bose two years ago and they had asked £250 at the time to repair them. They were pretty insistent too that I buy the new model instead. I saw this comment and went to book my repair and lo and behold I am now eligible for replacement. Pretty happy that I found this video and your comment!

      when I read this I called Bose and they refused a free replacement. They wanted $200 to replace it.

    The power switch on mine is broken. It alternates between bluetooth connecting and power off. I was debating on buying a new pair, but now that you guys came out with the video i'm totally checking your site out and fixing my headphones :)

    Thought I completely botched the black and white soldering. It wasn’t pretty but they’re on and sounding good. Hopefully gets me a few extra months of listening. Great tutorial, and y’all delivered parts quick.

    Wait, whaaaaa? I need a solder gun?

  • @DigiLab360
    @DigiLab360 ปีที่แล้ว

    Fantastic Tutorial, but not for someone new at soldering. The soldering points are minute. I found it easier to clip the legs of the old switch and then removed them one by one by desoldering. It was easier than removing the entire switch in one go. Thanks for this. 🙏

      how did you desoldering one by one? I tried with a heat gun but I only melted the switch, this is very difficult to a someone new at soldering

    Thanks for the guide! I just replaced my broken power switch (it kept switching to bluetooth pairing) and reassembled everything but now the noise cancelling is juuuust slightly uneven left vs right which is driving me crazy lol, maybe the seal around the ANC microphone isn't quite as tight as it was. Have you ever experienced that?

    • @Joesge
      @Joesge  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Could be that your seal is not sitting flush

    thanks for the video. Managed to replace the switch, but when soldering the red&copper wires, i've overdone the negative one and there's no solder anymore on the board, guessing the board is fried now?

    • @Joesge
      @Joesge  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You may be able to reply it, but if you pulled the contact point off the board then yeah its fried.

    mine have a weird problem. The white light stays on very brightly. It seems to power off correctly (makes the noise) but this light stays on after it's powered down. Then, it loses charge quickly. I tried spraying the power switch but nothing changed.

      @@thewhitegoldfish I called Bose and complained and they sent me a brand new pair of headphones! I told them the problem started right after I updated the firmware. That seemed to be why they could do that.

    Why do you use the "blowtorch" instead of the pen? Is it possible to do it with just the pen?
