    Sadly I had a friend that started to hear voices, one day she said to me “did you hear that” and nobody was there. And then a man passed us by while walking she said “he called me a whore” which he didn’t. I truly got so scared and convinced her to come with me to the psychiatric hospital because I didn’t feel well. I waited in there for hours and told the staff the situation. They quickly realized she wasn’t ok and committed her. She became violent, long story. She has a background of mental illness just like in this case. Her mother and sister had similar diagnosis. She now takes medication and now is perfectly normal married successful with children.

      I am so happy she got help and is doing well. My dad was bipolar and schizophrenic. It took many years for him to be properly diagnosed and he had run up quite a lot of trouble for himself in the meantime. He would go on and off his meds until he passed away in 02. I am always so happy knowing others who have similar mental health issues get the right help.

    Omg I remember growing up listening to this case, it's LEGENDARY in Mexico. The house as it use to stand (not sure now) became a cult place for paranormal investigators around the area as neighbors claimed to hear the children scream at night. Like most houses in México, the Mijangos house has walls just next to neighbouring house's walls, most houses are just right next to each other and just recently an office building was finised right on the empty lot behind this house and others, demolishing would be very complicated. Legally the goverment cant demolish it because there was no law about claiming criminals properties back then. Claudia Mijangos was released today and the chief justice said that with a tutor Claudia can claim the house back, it still belongs to her, it was a gift from her parents. Hope that info helps, english is not my first language, grettings from Querétaro.

      Quite right, Michael. It's insulting to the innocent children, that this omnipotent god they claim can be invoked to make the place safe, chose to just sit back and do nothing, even though it had the power do so. The older I get, the less accepting I am of people willingly choosing ignorance of this type. As a species it holds us back. As a planet, it will destroy so many of the species that some claim their god says we have domain over. The problem is, that those that know it's bullshit, manipulate their religion to manipulate the "flock" (read, sheep) for their own selfish ends. They ignore the disgraceful ostentatious lifestyles of those that beg for the little their followers have to feed themselves, as they fly in private aircraft to share their dishonest sermons. Today, April 24 of 2019 Claudia Mijangos Arzac finished her 30 year sentence and was relesed from the psychiatric area of the Tepepan jail in Mexico City, her release had been doubted as the goverment required a family member or tutor to take responsability for her treatment and care for Claudia but she hadnt recieved any visits during her jail time but last minute her sister, Jennifer Mijangos, and her niece took her in and she was released to them, its speculated they will take her back to Mazatlan.

    I had a friend who was diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic. He would talk to me openly about this vast conspiracy that surrounded him because he felt I was the one person not involved in it. That said, he would only talk about it when we were at a certain park we often went to. The lead singer of Aerosmith was sending him signals through facial expressions during some televised live performance my friend saw; same with Destiny's Child. The local road crew fixed a bump in the road in front of his house, so of course it was because my friend often complained about it. The people who attended my parents' church were in on the conspiracy. My friend could never tell me what the point or goal of the conspiracy was, nor who was the mastermind of it all, why him, etc. If I disagreed with him and tried to argue, it was as pointless and frustrating as arguing with a dementia patient.
    My point is that this all sounded reasonable and sane to him despite me telling him that he should seek help. The mentally ill rarely ever seek help on their own. I kept on hounding him to get help, and since I was the one person he could trust, he finally did. It took months, however, and that entire time I was afraid someone was going to get hurt. I don't actually think I was the cause of him seeking help; I think one day he had a moment of clarity and went to the nearest mental hospital where he stayed for about two weeks. He was prescribed medication that worked, and his medication was adjusted as the years went by. He passed away almost ten years ago now, but he never talked about the conspiracy again except as a silly thing he'd left behind and couldn't believe he ever believed in.

    She's been released now. The house is still there, but with a huge brick wall covering, "prohibiting" the entrance. Well, young people can enter but not her, who's 60 years old.
    I was curious about her husband, ex now. He's 73 and has problems for himself. He has been in jail because of neighbor disturbances and problems with his family. He's just living off of his family fortune. I think he's obviously very ill after what happened in 1989.

      Probably not - schizophrenic symptoms of any type usually do not develop until mid-20s. The human brain doesn't fully develop until around 25 years old. There are also cases of teenagers with schizotypal issues but it's pretty rare.

      I knew a teenager who had/Still has schizophrenia. She had been going to a nearby neighbors house to babysit all summer to watch their 3 children. When it was within a week of school to begin, her own mother was home from work to get some things prepared for her kids to start school, they were all in High School. So, the girl told her Mom she'd bring the 3 kids home for lunch so she could meet them. She came home and her Mother had prepared lunch for all of them and it was set nicely on the table. The Girl walked in, hollering, "MOM, we're heeeere!" Her mother rushed out from the kitchen, happy she'd taken the day off and excited to meet the kids. The Girl introduced the 2 girls and 1 boy she'd been watching all summer long. Somewhat baffled, but the Mother laughed, thinking her daughter was playing a trick on her. But, the Girl asked her what was sooo funny! Her Mother looked at her and asked, "Honey, where are the kids?"!? Now her daughter was confused. Turned out, this girl had been babysitting everyday in an abandoned house, for 3 imaginary kids. Oh, and she said she'd been promised to be paid at the end of the 7 weeks in one lump sum. So, there was nothing that had seemed wrong, until the day the kids were supposed to meet the babysitter's Mom!

    I remember hearing about her criminal alias but I've never had heard the complete case. Terribly soul wrenching and chilling. A definitely troubled mind but not a justification for her acts. Even if she wasn't "thinking straight" (knowing the consequences of her acts or attached to reality at that time), she had to be held accountable for her acts. As a person with chronic and comorbid mental health conditions myself, I understand that you don't ask to have your conditions, but you must pay your debt to Justice. The time and way you pay that debt might be different, but justice needs to be done.

    • @riggs20
      @riggs20 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @stlgtrace 1. It's not my opinion. It's a medical fact that she has at least two serious neurological problems. Would you say she was evil if she had a tumor eating away at her brain? 2. I never said she should be released back into society. If she has been able to get her symptoms controlled with medication, then she still needs to be supervised very closely, perhaps even in a closed setting. 3. Umm...no...it has nothing to do with her gender. Where the f*** did that come from? Never mind. I don't have the energy to argue with ignorance. Goodbye.

      @stlgtrace i see tons of completely crazy people most of them with sad background stories like the man who's head like exploded because of an accident and they put back in the brainmatter and he walks funny and has big difficulties speaking, and acts weird to; but there's no demonic evil in him even if his brain is damaged; everyone has a choice, to me "mental illness" is just the perfect excuse to rationalize horrific crimes...

      Back in the day psychiatric help was limited especially for some certain mental issues. Especially in Mexico because if you had problems you seek spiritual help rather than professional. Also mental illness was not talk about that much. And still isn't. My parents are from Mexico and mental illness has a stigma. If you go to therapy you are seen as a psycho. (My mother's words) they can't seem to tell the difference between sad and depress, or nervous and anxious, etc.
      I was taught if I had mental problems Jesus was my therapist. This doesn't work because I am not religious and spiritual help isn't for everyone.
      Basically mental illness awareness isn't as strong as it is in America.

    So sad when children are killed and in such a horrible way I mean it's sad when anyone is murdered and in such a horrible way but i think it's especially sad when it's children and by their own mother no less so sad I don't think she should get out in 2019 I think she should spend the rest of her life in prison after she's still alive that's more than what you or I or even she can say for her poor children!

    • @riggs20
      @riggs20 5 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      She was a very ill woman who did a very horrible thing. Schizophrenia and frontal lobe seizures are serious neurological conditions. She truly did not know right from wrong. I hope in the 30 years she's been in prison they have been able to get her symptoms under control with medication.

    • @riggs20
      @riggs20 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @rubber it's not some abstract scientific analysis that I'm arguing for. It's determining her culpability. If she has a normal IQ and ability to tell right from wrong, I will be right up there in line with those waiting to see her executed. I'm not cruel however, and I don't think people should be held accountable for things that are out of their control.
      For instance, my friend's son is severely autistic. His brain processes things differently. He can tell you the day of the week that any date, past or future, falls upon. But he cannot look you in the eye or converse with you in any meaningful way. So, if I were to wave at him and say hello, he would not wave back or even acknowledge my greeting. Would it be fair of me to call him rude or take offense at his actions? Of course not, because he mentally cannot perform to society's standards.
      My point it's just that IF this woman lacks the mental & neurological skills necessary, then we need to reevaluate her responsibility and punishment. That is all. And I stopped short of making the judgment myself as I am not a professional. But I do believe an evaluation needs to be made.
      It's easy to say "execute her", but is it just?

    • @riggs20
      @riggs20 5 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      @rubber Wow. The fact that you think autism is made up just shows how ignorant you are.
      I work with autistic adults. You've never seen one struggle to communicate and bite himself or hit his head against the wall in frustration because no one can understand him. Or one who has to wear headphones in public because the overwhelming noise of a crowd causes him to break down in tears. Or one who can tell you the day of the week any date, future or past, falls on; but can't string together more than three words in a row.
      I hope you never have a child born to your family who develops normally until they turn two and then slowly starts to forget their words, their songs, and how to play with their toys. Then takes to hiding under the table all day rocking themselves in confusion over a world that has ceased to make sense. I hope you will one day educate yourself as well as discover a sense of empathy. Good luck with your life.

      @@riggs20I feel the same way. I think one of the true tragedies of this story was mentioned in a very brief way: "She [did not want to? Was afraid to? I don't remember the exact wording] tell her husband because he had called her crazy." However, should she have told her husband about it he might have taken her seriously. Even if she had not gotten the appropriate care, having the children taken out of her custody would have been a way to prevent these results.
      The social stigma of mental disorders does far more harm than good. It's telling in every case study where the fear of being judged "crazy" is stronger than the very rational fear of the things happening within the mind.

    Riiight... she just happens to hear voices that make her stab her kids to death on the same night she has a huge fight with their dad. I'm sure he really was sorry

      Sometimes stress can trigger a schizophrenic break, and since schizophrenia often doesn't present until a person is in their 20s, it's possible that she hadn't displayed serious symptoms previously, and it's possible the fight did contribute to a psychotic break. The video does say that she had been having psychological problems before the incident.

      Christine 16 I know what your saying there are similar cases where the female or male parent of a child(ren) are murdered out of spite.

      I use to live in Union City CA. & That place was haunted. It was crazy. Doors closed on their own, dark shadows at night. I began reading my Bible out loud throughout the house. Once a voice said, Search for Him.... It got bad. Eventually I saved up enough $, & I got my kids tf outta that place. So yeah. I'm a believer.

      Unfortunately with these schizoaffective disorders, negative situations can bring on severe symptoms. I'm not remotely surprised that happened the night after they got in a fight and she was upset.

    A very similar case happened in Italy few yrs ago, an Albanian mother, Edlira Copa, killed her three girls, 3 beautiful angels. She became depressive due to the divorce with her husband. You can actually check and bring this unknown story here in TH-cam.

      It's not particularly easy to kill yourself with a knife. A lot of people slash their wrists horizontally, which is much less lethal than doing it vertically up their arm.
