This shit looks garbage, save your money get another device to do literally the same shit. Like your phone... you can just tell when he's playing gran turismo and cod that the input delay is horrendous.
Idk if it's a casual thing but that input lag is not worth the fucking cost. Play on your console, that's what you got it for. Or get a dedicated device like steam deck or rog ally which is far worth the price point over this shit device.

This was a very good full review, loved it. I ordered mine as my son started monopolising the TV so I'll be able to put my hands on my ps5 again. Lucky me I've got around 1gig of download speed in the leaving room and around 200 mega in the rest of the house so wifi connection should not be to much of a trouble. I liked a subscribed 🎉, cheers.

I just tried remote play on the phone with the DS paired and gotta say it was pretty good. On the portal I reckon it will be even better because there will be no Bluetooth latency.

@@ChaosDragon004precisely the reason why I’m still undecided whether or not I should get the steam deck oled instead. I hear it’s streaming via chiaki is equally good and it has that stunning oled. Sure, it costs more (and can do more) but as I also have to get those Sony earbuds -because, let’s face it: no way I’m shelling out 200€ to play wirelessly on the couch to then have to plug in a cabled headset- the difference in prices isn’t that big any more.

This looks so fascinating! I might think about getting this for christmas! Though it's not FULLY portable since it relies on the console, but at least i can play in my bedroom without taking the console from the living room every time!
Relies on wifi not the console. You can go to the other side of the world and connect to the console at home. Just need wifi.

Hi I am getting a portal today,as I am disabled I get stressed very easily setting things so seeing your video about the portal really helped me thank you. So I have a couple of questions. Do I need the ps5 on to play the portal & do I have to be in the same room to play the portal or I can I play the portal in a different room. Many thanks again 👍

You'll be happy even if your connection is subliminal. It doesn't take much these days to have a nice experience through streaming devices. If you are a FPS online gamer you'll probably be butt hurt unless you are really good.

I'm on the fence about the portal. Same setup at home. 1.5g Internet with wired Ethernet to ps5. I should have a nice experience, but the price seems a bit off. Great vid.

Hi. I just got a Portal and I’d like to ask a question. When I have been using it, I’ve noticed that the control sticks have less resistance when I push them in comparison to a Duelsense, which has more resistance when pushed. Is it the same for you?
Beat review out there covered all basses and showed snippits of call of duty which was great.! Mine got delayed and i live In IL. Pre ordered mine the day it went live for pre order which was bummer. Excited to get it and try it out!

Great review. I’m excited about the portal. Ya sucks you cannot download the games into it but at least when you are on the go and wanna play a game just connect to a WiFi and your set. I hope this is a success for Sony but we shall see.

@@mr.ozington6221after you set it up, yes you can play from any connection, even mobile hotspot from your phone if you’re at a place with no wifi. It just needs a decent connection to work properly

I have PS Backbone and Logitech G cloud... I would say the G Cloud (using PS Play app) beats the Backbone in overall remote play performance
And I'd like to know if there are any noticeable improvements in the overall remote play performance against the G Cloud? Less latency or better picture quality maybe, or is it absolutely the same?
For driving car,,,can you tilt the device for driving as option to play?

It’s a a great little device for people around the house, but my idea was that it would work on the go, for example if your travelling on a motorway for ages and you’d be able to play whatever. Sort of like a switch but a PlayStation version.

I have a backbone controller but I did order a portal but I don’t know really what to think did I make a mistake ?
When I bought the backbone I was using a iPhone 12 I used it alot and used on my iPad I love using it iv started having connectivity issues since the portal was announced but I did upgrade to iPhone 15 pro and they are obs C port I asked backbone would they be a converter ect they said no so I never bought a new one I know this does the exact same but that means another 100 pound to spend to just buy another backbone do you think it’s worth just adding the extra 100 and getting the portal and not the backbone ?

Thank god, you deserve a subscribe for the fast at home review. I have 1GB hard wired internet to my ps5. I bought this to play at work. And the ppl I work for have great internet as well. I shouldn’t have a problem playing things like madden and cod correct? As far as latency

This might sound like a stupid question but have you tried using a usb c hub that has a ethernet port to boost the network performance?
Quick question, I can still play this when not at home right? And if so do I have to have the portal connected to the internet as well along with my ps5 or just the PS5 connected
The PS5 has to be connected to the Internet and so does the Portal
hi - you mentioned 7 to 9 hours battery life - other reviewers seem to state under 5 hours. have you personally tested the stated battery life with actual game play?
Wish these reviews let us in on what routers they're using. I have gigabit VM currently, have a feeling that my ISP router will be the weakest link in the chain so will look to upgrade.

Its a portal to your ps so just like sitting in front of it. No not spots any option to give speeds that would be useful.

PS Portal!!! I have watched close to 30 videos regarding the PS Portal because I am trying to figure out if I want to jump into this. I feel PlayStation has done something unique with this system but at the same time has missed an opportunity to innovate. No cloud support for me is a big letdown considering this is a cloud system. And I believe there are plans to integrate this later but that is a big if. Also no Bluetooth seriously? It seems to work as a remote device should provided your internet connection can sustain it. Great informative video!

Guys, I have a backlog of ps5 games that will never cross my tv screen. Life has become long and busy, and isnt going to slow down. This is what ive been WAITING FOR - something i can use to steal a few moments back without the effort of wiring everything back up and wasting more time. If you don't understand, youre not the target market.

So I thought it only worked on the same wifi network, but it sounds like as long as you have an internet connection, for example at work, I can still remotely play. Is that correct?
i was playing on my macbook using the remote app and a native ds-controller.. but now its kinda neat having a handheld without balancing a laptop on my knees :) i like it so far but the ui felt kinda bare bones starting from the lag of showing battery percentage and missing some quality settings from the app like resolution and frame rate to compensate bad network signal

Can my son play a different game on our ps5 at the same time as I am playing a game on the portal? We have both the Xbox and Playstation console so just wondering. Many times, he is on the console so I would like to be able to buy this and play a different game than he currently is on. Any knowledge on this matter would be great. Thanks!
The portal is just a mirror image of whats happening on the ps5 so you can't play different games
How is the video quality on the device, when having optimal connection?
I heard video artifacts were very noticeable.
