They already said that they're going to give it the capability to play cloud games they just want it to work great...
I highly doubt that it gets the full capabilities at the PSP. What people aren't realizing is that even though the PSP sold 80 million units up to date It was one of the most jailbroken devices Sony has ever made and it was used to pirate a lot of games.... People are dreaming if they think Sony is going to do the same thing again..
Most likely like they said it cloud gaming will be integrated and they will probably allow people to stream Netflix another streaming platforms through the device..
41 gives me s*** I'm like you guys I would like it to happen but they weren't too happy about people jailbreaking and using the PSP to pirate the games so it doesn't look like it'll probably happen again...

I had the portal and returned it a couple weeks later, not that it wasn’t a great device cause it was but just wasn’t enough for my day to day needs and didn’t want to spend $200 plus all the extra on accessories. I found a PlayStation backbone on OfferUp for $50 in my area. I’m thinking about that instead. One question though I do have the iPhone 15 pro which is USB-C…will it still be compatible with it since I believe it was more for lightning connectors? Just curious

@@kevOzilla I do agree the portal screen ratio is the best but again the quality at least for me since it wasn’t OLED was the one turn off for me, even my iPhone 15 with the screen ratio being off since it was OLED felt better. Again this is just my personal thing. Other main reason I had to return portal was because only games you can play are digital and since my library was half and half from what I’ve purchased over the years it kinda didn’t make too much sense now. In the future I do hope to get this again once perhaps an updated second version comes out or who knows maybe that new rumored PSP

So I bought a Portal and was planning on returning it and ‘downgrading’ to the backbone V2 and use my iPhone. However, IMO the Portal is significantly better than using a phone and the backbone. I’m going to end up keeping the Portal and returning the Backbone. The screen on the Portal is a lot bigger than even my iPhone 15 Pro Max and it’s a lot simpler to use. The controls feel much better as well on the Portal.

This....bruh OMG this! This is the reason most people are buying the portal...100.00 for a device with no screen that you have to use your phone with, or 200.00 for a better device with a beautiful 8 inch screen that doesn't require your phone. Pretty simple math there....

    • @rickybobby5153

@@corey_masseyThe portal isn’t “better”. The screen is lower quality than anything in your phone and it intentionally throttles your connection below 15mbps - which is barely enough for Netflix. They each have their own advantages but the portal is by no means better in the screen dept 😂

    • @corey_massey
      @corey_massey 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@rickybobby5153
Bruh...ya'll dudes be wild...YOU DON’T HAVE TO LIE TO SAY IT AINT FOR YOU! First, the Portal doesn't throttle your connection down to or below 15mbps, it works on any single step internet connections at as low as 5mbps and is ideal at 15mbps OR ABOVE and anything above 15mbps is unnecessary because remote play is not impacted by internet connection speed when used in your home wifi network. The fact that it works on less internet bandwidth than it takes to reliably use Netflix is actually a selling point for the Portal, not a neagtive. In fact the only time when internet connection speed ever becomes an issue with remote play is if you use it outside your home network and connect to your PS the way your phone or any other device connects to your PS, which is through the strength and speed of your internet connection and even then the connection is based on the strength and speed of your internet from the device, ie your cellular service or the connection of the outside wifi you are on. If there is any valid criticism that can be made with the Portal its that it doesn't have its own internet browers so any two step internet access is not allowed, but even that is solved by a phone with a mobile hotspot.
As for the display....its a native 1080p display which is also the max resolution of remote play regardless of device. If your phone or tablet or any other device is set to anything higher than 1080p the remote play app automatically lowers to it 1080p because remote play doesn't play any higher than 1080p. Also I have a Samsung S23 Ultra which is quite possibly the biggest phone screen on the market right now and the Portal dwarfs it in actual screen real estate without the screen being so big that its awkward to hold. We are not going to even talk about the fact that the controller portion is a dualsense controller, so holding it feels like holding my PS5 controller.....not just because of the Dualsense features which are awesome on the Portal btw.... but because it actually is the same design philosophy as the dualsense controller with a screen in the middle. Why it took Sony to create a device that actually feels like the controller people are used to playing on is beyond me, but I am so glad that they nailed the design because for a person who plays on PS5 the Portal feels perfect....in every concievable way.
Look I get it, if you can't get one because its sold out or if you are happy with your Backbone+Phone or Dualsense controller paired to a tablet combo, i am not here to hate on you, have fun with it ......but for me.....the Portal resolves issues I didn't even know I had with remote play. Its like Sony took all the little exceptions and concessions people were willing to make with remote play and resolved them with one nearly perfect all in one device.

Portal: Limited to PS5 Remote Play & (Maybe) PS Cloud streaming
      No Bluetooth connectivity

      Backbone: Xbox cloud stream
      iOS/android play store games
      Nvidia GeForce cloud stream
      Steam streaming
(Maybe) PS Streaming at some point.
Phone can Connect Bluetooth headsets. Idk, just the ability to play games without a network connection should be enough to win in a comparison.

Backbone on Phone is definitely the way to go for remote play. As you can see with phone connected to Backbone you can get to your PS5 more faster than you can with the PS Portal and the Portal doesn’t guarantee a none stutter experience in your house. Just go with what makes sense, that’s what I did. If buying a $200 remote play device is more convenient to push off to your child by any means grab you that Portal but personally if you value a non stutter experience on a better screen with even a better frame rate for some phones grab you a backbone and connect that bad boy up to your phone. Visually the Galaxy S22 and S23 are the best phones I’ve tried so far with Backbone. iPhone 15 screen quality and colors just aren’t good as the screen on Samsungs top flagship phones. Note to GeForce now users, Apple Store does not have a dedicated GeForce Now app so 720p 30-60fps is the best quality you can get on a IPhone 15 or any other Apple devices. Want 4k 120fps with GeForce Now games using Backbone strongly suggest Galaxy S22 or S23 or just an Android device in general because in the Android Playstore there is a dedicated app for GeForce now!

Believe it or not, i own both of these devices, and I gotta say, I’m going with the portal. I mean, with the backbone, you’re still overall playing on a phone. Why is that bad? Imagine your playing a game and you suddenly get BOMBARDED with notifications. Your gaming experience will instantly turn into living hell. And if you’re thinking im gonna say “buy the ps portal it’s better” im not. But, i will say this. If you get in the decision between the backbone and the portal, just choose what you think is suitable for you.
