I am perplexed. I have a M1 Mac running Mojave v 12.1 and until yesterday when I was programming my esp8266 it all went 'wrong' AS I USED to be able to use the serial port but now all I have is /dev.cu.wlan-debug. Nothing else. I have reinstalled Mojave as advised by Apple support. I hope my IO board is OK. I may have to take the machine in to be looked over. Anyone suggest a remedy or test? And, yes, I know the Silicon Macs are not yet supported... If I do a ls /dev/tty* in Terminal nothing serial is listed. HELP!!

Love your videos. I have a coolscan 5000 and glad this works, I also have an Eason v850 and silverfast so looks like the new M1 is not going to work for me. Thank you for the video

Can Somebody tell me How to check on which port ardiuno is connected on Mac M1. I have read some stuff using Terminal but I didn't find anything. I just want to know what to write in Terminal to check on which port Ardiuno is connected.

Hi. Man I'm having the same issues with Silverfast 8 and V600, the software just stopped scanning transparencies and it's impossible to make it work. It worked for 6 days and died. Vuescan doesn't even "see"the Epson V600! Just an opinion from you since you have V600 and Coolscan V ed: Do you have a HUGE difference between V600 and Coolscan in image quality? Thanks!

As far as I can tell, I’ve never noticed a difference between the two when scanning 35mm negatives - but I’m definitely not a professional and just shoot and scan film for fun.

Do you know if firewire coolscan models will work? Just bought a 4000ed and can use it on a pc but connecting it to my mac would be ideal

I have not tried FireWire myself, but I have heard that using the Apple FireWire adapter in combination with the Apple thunderbolt 2 to 3 adapter works with other devices, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it worked with your scanner too.

Hi, thanks for the information. Do you ever connect to esp8266 or esp32? I have dificulties to connect via arduino ide

I haven’t used these unfortunately. But what UART are you using? I’ve had luck with a SparkFun version, although I can’t recall the specific model. Also I was able to find a bit of info on the esp32: docs.espressif.com/projects/esp-idf/en/latest/esp32/get-started/establish-serial-connection.html perhaps if you can determine what onboard FTDI it has, you might be able to figure out if it’s compatible.

Brother can i use arduino ide with libraries like ultrasonic sensor etc. actually I want to buy MacBook air m1 and i am a arduino programmer so please please reply whether should i buy or not

I’m not sure about the ultrasonic sensor libraries specifically, however, I have been using my M1 with my Arduino UNO regularly with Arduino IDE and it works great.

@@p8blr some people using m1 macbooks complained about being unable to load programs to their arduino microcontroller or being unable to detect ports, did you not face any such problem? or did you and found a fix for it?
